CHPT 115: Do something about it, boy.

The scenery was exactly as he remembered it the first time he awoke in the Forest of the Chosen. Thick beautiful trees with branches that outstretched and reached all over, forming intricate natural wooden webbing. The lightning bugs inside lit themselves, shining over beautiful plants and animals running throughout the night time greenery.

The cool breeze that washed over him and brought him out of his sleep now brought cool tingles to his skin as he stood in the grass wearing nothing but a loincloth.

While he stood at the entrance, he happily greeted the first pack he ever fought with.

After reconnecting with the Phantom Wolves, his ears picked up the sounds of hundreds of birds taking to the skies in large numbers.

"Looks like he was expecting me as much as I was expecting him." Claude thought as the Wolves turned to face the noise.

He was immediately aware of just how fast Fenrir was in the brief seconds of comfort he was left with. He birds that initially were startled into the night sky sounded like they were at least a mile away. A few seconds after they left, the intense shockwave of fear violently increased with every step the giant wolf made until he felt his body pulling itself to the ground in terror.

His insides clinched and squirmed while his legs turned to jelly. He was able to stand for longer than before, but eventually his body succumbed to the overwhelming levels of power and dominance Fenrir let off.

It didn't take long for two of the trees in front of him to step out into the clearing. As the pale moonlight hit them, the thick and wild blackish grey shaggy fur glimmered faintly and revealed that they weren't trees at all.

The muscles in Fenrir's legs twitched and flexed with every step as his claws sunk into the earth with deadly ease.

The Phantom Wolves turned into black smoking statues as Fenrir approached them.

"Forr a child, yourrrr facing a great dealll of adverrsityyy grr.." Fenrir said in his unnatural monstrous voice.

"That's why I'm here...I need the strength to deal with my— problems." Claude replied.

Fenrir sniffed him a few times before speaking again, "Tell me these.....prrroblems your having that have brought you here."

"To summarize. There are things that want to kill me and my friends and family, I can't let that happen..." Claude said.

"You hold yourrr tongue. Tell me what else youuu need power for, now." Fenrir said.

"Revenge." Claude replied in a voice deeper than usual as the Wolf's hot breath burned his head and neck like a furnace.

"ERRRHHHhahahah... I know a thing orrrr two about wanting revengeeee." Fenrir said animatedly.

"So I've heard." Claude replied.

Fenrir's claws stretched and raked the ground, "Grr....do tell me what the mortal's have taught you about the Father of Wolvesssss."

"Erhm.....you are the product of an Aesir/Jotunn God of Mischief and Jotunn Mother of Monsters.....out of fear of your power, the Gods bound you to a boulder and hoped to keep you there. But, you plan to escape on Ragnarok and devour everything on earth...." Claude replied.

Fenrir took a step closer, his breaths moved Claude's hair and caused him to sweat profusely. He smelled like fire, blood and chaos.

"GrrrRR....I smell your disgust, boy. Tell me, what is troubling your human mind in thisssss momentt." Fenrir said.

"You want to destroy the world....your no Hero." Claude said as he fought to stand and failed.

"HAHAHAHA!!!!!!" Fenrir shook the ground and skies with his booming predatory laugh. "You....grrr....you have the nerve to tell meeee what I am.....and WHAT IM NOT!? When you can't even stand to face meeeegrrRR.....I'm no Hero.....hahaha! Where I come frrrommm...gr....there is no such thing. There arrrre only the STRONG! Who control the wayyys of the world.....and the ones at the bottom of the barrrrel.....who die!"

Claude's spine still tingled from Fenrir's terrifying laugh as he replied. "What about Ragnarok?"

"HEHEHEHEHRRRN....think outside the box, boyyyy! Who's to say it's.....gr...not already here....coming to FRUITION! Look at your worrld! Plagued by monsters and conflict! All rrrremnants of yourrrr old technological....grrrr....world....almost completely gonnnne.....hehehehe. The firrrst signn has shown itselfffff.....through Baldrrr's death! Nowwwww we wait for WINTERRRR."

Claude scrambled his brain for information as Fenrir spoke, "The signs of Ragnarok....that's right! The first sign is Baldr's murder, and then three uninterrupted long winters. Does he think it's coming this winter????" Claude thought.

"Get out of yourrrrr head and speak, boy." Fenrir said.

Claude's eyes flashed green as he became riddled with anger and confusion. "You....you really plan to devour everything on earth." Was all he could say in a low growl.

Fenrir snorted, sending droplets of hot nasal fluids onto his hair and bare back before turning and walking back into the forest. As he slowly padded away, he spoke to Claude for the last time, concluding their conversation.

"If you've....grrrr...got a problem with my divine revengeee...then get strong enough to stop meeeheheh....starting, TODAY! Makee your way North! If you reach me by the end of the week. I will gift you something to....raisssse your POWER." He said before taking off at impossible speeds with a large booming sound.

Claude felt the fear and panic leaving his body almost immediately with Fenrir's departure, leaving him soaked in sweat and angry....but also determined.

The Phantom Wolves were up with him, patiently waiting at his side.

"Go North. Well, let's get moving." Claude said before leading his pack into the forest.

As he entered the forest, his hands became engulfed in green energy and the branches around him stretched and combined into the shape of two spears that twisted down towards him like snakes.

SNAP!....SNAP!

As he broke them off and spun them in his hands, he thought about what Fenrir told him.

"Get strong enough to beat a God...."
