"Are the shipments ready?"
[The shipments arrived 10 minutes ago, Ma'am.]
"Great! Have them all assembled within a week? That should be enough time."
[Ma'am. You haven't given the plans yet.]
"Just have the workers set up the equipment. The researchers will do the rest."
[Okay. I will direct them to do as you say. I will leave the rest in your hands.]
"Good."
A call just happened between a team leader and one of the heads of a company.
The game developing company named GameGuild's stock prices shot through the roof once they developed the first-ever virtual reality game that had role-playing elements mixed with it being massively multiplayer.
The game Immersion Online already had 2 years uptime when it was released from beta. The beta phase lasted a scrutinizing 5 years but the game received a lot of positive feedback.
Once Immersion Online became popular, GameGuild suddenly had a lot of investors, making them the leading company to research into virtual-reality games.
"Once we get those machines up. We can begin mass testing."
After years of development, the project the company has been working on finally hit the mark.
"And once mass testing produces good results. We can create a new world."
Ring~
A telephone rang. It was an incoming call from one of the departments.
"Who is this?"
[Ma'am, this is Alyssa from the PR department.]
"Oh. Did they accept our money?"
[Yes, Ma'am. Starting tomorrow morning, about 3 television channels within 3 countries will broadcast our teaser for the overhaul. It would be China, Korea, and Indonesia.]
"What about Japan? We made a Japanese dub trailer for them." (AN: Dubs over subs. fite me.)
[Japan just experienced a mild earthquake in Okinawa. I don't think they'll be interested at the moment.]
"Just contact them. Those weebs never deny something that they like so they'll take this news as good news."
[As you will.]
"Good. Contact some grumps on the internet too."
[Grumps?]
"Yes. You know, the people they call, what was it? 'Influencers?' I think that's the word."
[Ok. Should I also contact the leading players?]
"That won't be necessary. They'll contact us themselves."
[As you wish. Have a great day, Ma'am.]
Then the call ended with that.
A new day came and as expected, the television channels within 4 different countries broadcasted a teaser trailer.
===============TRAILER=============
(AN: Do your best to imagine)
The trailer started with a black screen. Then a single sound rang with reverb, it was a singular note. The black screen slowly lowered its opacity to reveal an establishing shot of a city.
Then rang another note. And subsequently, a string of words showed itself on-screen.
*A new dawn has come.
Bang!
The scene turned black once again, only to show a dark sky. The camera pans downward and reveals a campfire.
"Do you ever wonder why the sky is blue?"
Low volume music played in the background as a man stoked the fire.
"Because it turns out. It's red."
The dark sky suddenly turned red and the camera suddenly fades followed by another-
Bang!
The screen slowly brightened up with an eye shutter mimicking blinking eyes. It was now morning and the campfire has long burned out. The man who stoked the fire from earlier has lost his head and died.
"What is happening?" A voice said but the source was from within.
"ROAR!"
A big bad wolf showed itself and destroyed the camp. The screen once again faded to black. Rushing music played in the background.
"Huff huff."
Loud footsteps could be heard.
The screen brightens up once again. The camera was shaking as if it was running. It looked back and saw that the wolf was running towards the camera.
"Anybody! Help!"
Fade to black.
THUD!
The camera brightened up once again to show that the person with the camera's perspective has fallen to his feet.
ROAR!
The wolf from earlier pounced directly in front of the camera.
Slice~
A sword met the wolf's charge. The wolf was like a single piece of meat on a stick and it died squealing.
"Thank you! Adventurer!"
"Don't thank me yet." The adventurer replied and looked into the distance.
The bright blue sky was tinged with red.
"That was only one of them."
Then the screen faded to black and the music suddenly stopped.
-Coming next week-
=========Trailer End============
And after a few seconds, the forums were flooded with inquiries by the players.
-New update?!
-DUDE! Does this mean that there's a new storyline quest?
-I WWANNNT IT NAW.
-Are those guys NPCs? They're so fleshed out.
-I WWANNNT IT NAW.

People began speculating what the trailer could mean. They were having a heated debate but it was all nonsense because the thread was moving too fast. Until-
[Update Trailer Breakdown] by ShadowInsignia
*First of all. The trailer was set in Greg's camp. It is an unmarked location up north. It is an area bordering the Devon Kingdom, the northern kingdom, and the Whistling Mountains.
*The Whistling Mountains' base is filled to the brim with low leveled mobs but every 200 in-game meters starting from the base, higher leveled mobs will show themselves.
*The levels grow bigger as you go higher up the mountain, this is why as of this moment the Whistling Mountains haven't been fully conquered.
*Second Point. Greg was the POV of the video. The other guy, the one that died, was named Martin. They're both NPCs that you cant interact with. I'm guessing they were only put in there to add some detail in-game.
*Remember the point, Martin died. That would mean that Mobs would now include NPCs in their to-kill list. Unlike before where NPCs were ignored unless the quest was an escort quest.
*Last Point. Do you see the wolf destroying the camp and their tents? That could also mean that they're finally going to add destructible environments that don't reset. I duly hope that that includes cities too.
*These are all just speculations. If I'm wrong, please don't attack me. No to cancel culture.
[End of post]
The post ended with a disclaimer. The player wrote a full post within minutes so that in itself was impressive and descriptive, unlike the nonsensical chat banter.
The post gained traction due to its title. And the content itself was not too off the details. The OP properly observed and explained all of the details, sadly the viewers can not replay the video to ascertain. But then-
-Hey guys! I recorded the entire thing!
-Send us the link!
-Post it here.
-Okay, wait. Let me upload it to Utub.

-Now, this one is believable.
-Thank you, good sir.
People watched the trailer once again and scrutinized every detail. They read ShadowInsignia's post, again and again, they also found that these details were important and could mean what ShadowInsignia said.
"KAZUMA!"
A certain fat lady screamed as she watched TV. She just witnessed something that should interest her son.
"Just five more minutes mom!"
Kazuma lazed around in his bed. He wanted to just sleep during the morning because he was up until 4 am. His mother's voice was the least of the things he needed right now.
"COME DOWN RIGHT THIS INSTANT!"
He stomped her foot and screamed. She did not stand for it when her son does not follow her words.
"Come on! What do I need to get downstairs for?"
Kazuma replied. The irritation was evident in his voice.
"Your game is getting an update!"
Kazuma's eyes suddenly opened. He stood up instantly and rushed to his computer. Something was weird though.
'It's already on?'
When he looked at the monitor, he saw Fukada-san.
"Wait a minute. Tou-san?"
His father was using his virtual reality gig.
In an online chat room, a couple of friends were doing a call with their cameras open. They were having an end of the day chat, discussing their day. Then-
-Hey guys! The game is getting an update!
-Really?!
-Is that true Satsuki?
-It is! It's all over the news!
-Looks like we don't have time to sleep. Let's do some research!
Everyone rigorously opened a new tab and tapped on their keyboards. They wanted to know what the update was about as fast as they could.
Meanwhile, our story's protagonist was the same as always.
"Hey, Mom. Do you put in your shoes and socks like this? Left sock, left shoe, right sock, right shoe? Or do you go for right sock, right shoe, left sock, left shoe?"
"....."
Bob's Mom, as an NPC, had no words to say.
"Sigh. Mom, you'll never learn to speak with people that way. It's best to start little by little you know?"
Bob was trying to make his mother just like him. Aware of his existence.
