Hide and Seek

Hide and seek my favorite game,

Playing at this age; simply sounds lame.

A day I recall back in childhood,

Hiding under the bed in my brother's room.

All my friends searched the house,

None could find the naughty little mouse.

Tip-tap tip-tap came the sound,

Curled into a ball scared to be found.

Big brother walked in with his friend,

With a sigh of relief crawled to the end.

Wanted to jump and surprise them both,

Before I could my body simply froze.

heard private and personal talks,

Of two young men; their hand interlocked.

Hours passed and darkness creeped in,

Scrambled was the mind like a bin.

Time flew and his secret unrevealed,

Buried in darkness for the time being.

Today, he is getting married,

Looking so calm and unworried.

His life partner walking down the aisle,

While his love standing silently aside.

In darkness, they hid their love,

To not let the world seek it above.
