Ji Zhen Tian never came to visit me that day.

I did expect him to visit me if he heard that news, but there was no sign of him going to my palace at all.

I had my expectations, but now that they didn't happen, I wasn't as disappointed as I was before. I successfully killed off my emotions. ...I think.

Though, I'm a little bit disappointed, but not because he didn't visit me. It's because I wasn't able to execute my plans.

That's when it hit me.

I recalled my previous plan and decided to go through with that. Moreover, I have something better to add to that. Though, that plan is a little bit lowering. Still, I should do it, to wash my hands clean of these incidents.

I rested the rest of the day and night to prepare for my battle tomorrow.

I just hope this plan works, and Ji Zhen Tian will forgive me.

The next day, my body didn't feel all that sluggish. My fever also went down considerably. I think I was able to rest well, and that the medicine worked.

I can tell that it's already late. Morning court would have been already long over. That's probably how long I have slept through the night.

I tried to get up, but my maids still didn't let me, saying that I should still rest.

But of course, I wouldn't let them stop me, and went on to the Emperor's palace.

"Imperial Consort, this servant is sad to say that the Emperor is currently busy. Please go back and continue resting. His Majesty wishes for Imperial Consort Ye to recover her health well." The head eunuch said as I arrived in the Emperor's palace. By the looks of it, he was waiting for me to arrive to say that.

I told a servant to go ahead and inform the Emperor I'm coming, and that's why he's here. But the head eunuch's not here to welcome me, but to drive me away, huh. I see. So that's how Ji Zhen Tian is going to play. He can ignore me all he wants, or he might really be just busy with political affairs and the rebellion, but I won't give up now that I've come this far.

I need to do this. I need to see him.

Thinking that, I knelt to the ground and kowtowed.

"Please let me see the Emperor, please!" It's lowering to kowtow to a eunuch, but pride doesn't matter here.

The ground's also cold, as the fall season is already starting.

"Your Highness! Please stand up! You can't do that!" My maids and the head eunuch said.

"Please let me see His Majesty! I need to tell him something! Something very urgent! Please!" I continued kowtowing even as my maids tried to pull me up, telling me to stop.

"Please. Please. Please."

I continued pleading, and the head eunuch seemingly gave up.

"Someone, please call the Emperor! Hurry!" Then a eunuch of lower rank ran like his life depended on it.

"Imperial Consort Ye, His Majesty has already been called for. Please stand up. Imperial Consort is still sick. The Emperor will worry very much if Your Highness' condition worsens." Said the troubled head eunuch.

But I didn't stop and said, "I won't get up until His Majesty comes to see me. I really have something important to say!"

As I said that, another voice boomed from above.

"What are you doing?!" Ji Zhen Tian said as he pulled me up. I didn't resist this time. "It's inappropriate for an Imperial Consort to bow her head to someone else other than her husband!" Ji Zhen Tian's voice was stern, but his face was indifferent.

This is the first time I'm seeing him being indifferent towards me. It hurt a little. Just a little, I swear. I won't get hurt anymore. My emotions are already gone.

"Emperor! You have come! I'm so happy." I smiled as I looked up at him. "Please, I have something important to say!" I clutched on Ji Zhen Tian's clothes and pleadingly looked him in the eyes.

Ji Zhen Tian's indifferent face cracked a little, and then he said, "Then stand up. Let us head to the receiving room."

"Thank you, Your Majesty." I then stood up, but my legs were asleep from kneeling that I staggered. Gladly, I didn't fall as Ji Zhen Tian managed to catch me.

However, he didn't carry me to the room and instead instructed my maids, "Support you mistress." He handed me off to my maids and then went ahead.

"Your Highness..." My 'inspector' maid said worriedly, as if she didn't know how to react on why Ji Zhen Tian is suddenly being cold-hearted.

"It's fine. I'm okay. I just need to say something and we'll leave immediately." I reassured her.

We then walked to the room, and there inside, Ji Zhen Tian was already sitting high up in his dragon chair.

"Speak. What do you need?" Ji Zhen Tian reclaimed his indifferent face, void of any expressions. Even his voice sounded indifferent, uninterested.

"Please let us be alone. It's something... I... we... cannot let others hear." I said.

Ji Zhen Tian knitted his brows, but he still commanded everyone to get out.

As soon as everyone else was gone, I began kowtowing again.
