The chairman led us to their orphanage hall. The hall was quite spacious, and it was fairly clean.
The staff we brought then unloaded the gifts we prepared beforehand, then started prepping for lunch outside. It was planned to eat lunch there, by the wide garden.
All the kids put on a show, some did solo acts, some did groups. There were also parts where everyone sang, and all of them showed off their talents.
It seems the people in the orphanage prepared a lot themselves for our visit.
That makes me… happy, touched.
I turned to Lucas to look at how he's going.
He's still holding my hand, a little loose now. But everytime I try to take it away, he tightens his grip, not letting me go.
As if sensing my gaze on him, he turned to me too.
"What is it?" He whispered gently.
I merely shook my head.
My question had already been answered by the softened look in his eyes.
I turned back to the children's performance.
This time, it was I who tightened my hold on his hand.
