Chapter 70 - No Brakes (1)

[With Ruby and Roman]

Ruby was going to get into a fighting stance and since Shallot wasn't here he was going to drop the act slightly.

Roman: "Tim, you can leave I can handle this."

Ruby released her grip on Tim's arm and he hurried out running away from the room.

Ruby walked into the room and closed the door behind her. When the door was shut completely the door was pushed back open and someone else walked in.

Roman seeing the person knew it was Shallot wearing a customized Grimm mask. Ruby seeing this person was getting ready to fight and sent a kick at Shallot who didn't move and let the kick hit him in the neck without him moving at all.

Shallot: 'Her strength is getting better and all the sparing is helping with her strikes. These legs are just spectacular.'

Ruby seeing that her kick did nothing and she didn't feel that there was an aura shield was astonished that someone's body could be this sturdy. Ruby decided it was best to regroup first and dashed for the door and petal burst out only to hear an explosion happening after the door was opened.

When Ruby is about to continue going she hears another explosion going off. Roman was now feeling annoyed since he made sure that the explosions weren't close by since Shallot and he decided to use them for something else.

Roman: "WHAT is going on here?!"

A third explosion sounds and multiple White Fang members come running around the corner, some firing at an unknown enemy. Weiss, Blake, Yang, Zwei, and Oobleck run around the corner, much to Roman's annoyance. Ruby decides to take this moment to try and escape. She jumps on Roman's shoulders, pulls his hat down over his eyes, and then flees towards her friends.

Roman grabs the bridge of his nose while and starts rubbing his eyebrows feeling that all that planning is going down the drain. How are they supposed to make the damn Gundum that Shallot was talking about if they have no gunpowder for the machines?

Roman: "Someone better tell me what is going on!!!"

An inconspicuous member of the White Fang comes in and then pulls up a rifle aimed at Roman and pulls the trigger. Roman leans his head to the side trying to figure out what is going on at this point. This wasn't supposed to go like this.

Roman held up his Melodic Cudgel and fired at the White Fang member-only for him to dodge and the shot flew towards Ruby back as she was heading to regroup with everyone. The White Fang member takes something from their pocket and tosses it into the room. A blinding flash goes off and the White Fang member takes the chance to run off.

Shallot: 'Now this wasn't supposed to happen. Did someone find out about our plans somehow.'

Shallot turns towards the White Fang member and fires a ki blast at his backside and it connects before he is blasted forward further away from them. When the flash from the object clears up Shallot could see the metal underneath what should have been skin with a giant M on the back.

The White Fang member's head turns to the side and opens its mouth before a replica of Roman's voice comes out.

Roman Impersonation: "Attach this cart and spread the word: We're starting the train."

Roman: "What!"

Shallot gets ready to send a blast towards the downed White Fang member when another White Fang member comes out and metal blades come out of their arms extending charging at Shallot.

Shallot: "This is definitely wrong. Something must have changed drastically for things to end up like this. Someone must know about me a Roman working together."

More "White Fang" members come out with the fake skin on their face coming off revealing their metal interior and all rush towards Shallot and Roman.

[With Ruby]

Ruby is fleeing but screeches to a halt as she realizes she's running towards a group of White Fang members. A huge explosion appears behind the White Fang members, sending them flying and revealing Yang behind them.

Ruby jumps into Yang's arms glad to see her.

Yang: "Ruby, are you ok."

Ruby: "I'm fine but Roman and that guy are here."

Ruby looks around seeing everyone but Shallot.

Ruby: "Where is Shallot?"

Yang: "Wasn't he with you."

Ruby: "No he wasn't. But listen! Torchwick's got all kinds of weapons and robots down there.

Blake walks up to Ruby handing her Crescent Rose.

Ruby: "Thanks. I'm still more comfortable using my scythe. Besides that there are androids, mechs, they're all loaded up on the train cars!"

Oobleck: "Ahhhh, that's ridiculous. These tunnels are sealed, the tracks lead to a dead-end."

A voice came through the intercom above them.

Roman Impersonator: "Get to your places, we are leaving now!"

The train starts moving towards the tunnels.

Yang: Well, it sounds like they're going somewhere.

Ruby: "We need backup. Let me call Jaune."

Ruby's Scroll flashes "Low Signal".

Ruby: "I can't get through!"

Weiss: "So, what do we do?"

Oobleck: "I believe we only have one option..."

Ruby turns around.

Ruby: "We're stopping that train!"

*Boooom*

They all heard a larger explosion than earlier.

[Back with Shallot and Roman]

Shallot was standing in the middle of the room sending ki blast out destroying the synths constantly coming from behind different areas.

Shallot: "Who the hell made all of these things. This requires more than one person. Roman, where is Neo."

Roman was holding Melodic Cudgel firing away at the synths around him. Some would be blasted back while others while still crawl forward even though they were missing the lower half of their bodies.

Roman: "Why the hell are these things so durable."

Shallot: "Why are there so many?"

Shallot continued blasting out ki blast feeling that these must be the robots that Neo was talking about.

Shallot: "Please don't let the mad scientist be like Dr. Gero. I swear if I have to fight a Cell I'm going to blow up a town before it can be finished."

Roman: "Who is Dr. Gero?"

Roman continued shooting when his Melodic cudgel clogged from all the dist residue leftover dropping it on the ground and pulling some dust ice containers out and smashing them before taking control of the dust smashing it into the synths around them. Then closing his hands in a clench making the dust react and causing a flash freeze converting everything into ice.

Shallot: "That's definitely a good ability. It might be time for use to stop with the infiltration plan and pull out since someone obviously knows what we are up to."

Roman: "I'm just glad these things can't use aura or that may cause some problems."

While they were fighting they could feel the train moving and Roman's voice sound out over the intercom.

Roman Impersonator: "Get to your places, we are leaving now!"

The synths had seemed to stop coming and Shallot and Roman looked at each other.

Roman: "That wasn't me."

Shallot looked at him as if he was stupid.

Shallot: "Of it wasn't you idiot. This is just getting worse."

Shallot pulled out his scroll and could only see that it had no signal.

Shallot: "We really need some DSL in this bitch."

Shallot started walking towards the door towards the back of the train.

Roman: "Where are you going?"

Shallot: "I'm going for a walk."

Roman: "A walk?"

Shallot: "A very enthusiastic walk."
