Chapter 79 - Breach (3)

Afterward, Team RWBYS, Zwei, and Merlin are sitting on the edge of Beacon's landing platform, overlooking the City of Vale from across the lake.

Yang: "Well, we did it."

Blake: "We did it."

Weiss: "If we don't get extra credit for that, I'm gonna be seriously disappointed."

Yang: "Even though we were on the outskirts of the city plenty of outposts and small houses in that area were destroyed because of the Grimm. Besides that Shallot is the one who did almost all of it."

Shallot: "I'm on the team also so I can't let anything happen to my girlfriends."

Shallot then turns to look at Weiss.

Shallot: "And Weiss."

Weiss: "Hey!"

Everyone else started laughing at that seeing that it always seemed that everyone always makes Weiss the but of the joke.

Ruby: "Plus, I mean, we didn't solve everything. A lot of people were killed, and we still don't even know why they did this, or who that mystery girl was that Shallot went after."

Blake turns towards Shallot expecting him to answer but he just looks away.

Shallot: "It's not important. I just needed to make sure that some people's family members weren't in danger."

Shallot said that while subtly looking towards Yang. Yang sees it from the corner of her eye but tries not to react.

Weiss: "Well, not every story has a neat and tidy ending. Why did you kill all those people in the tunnel."

Shallot: "Because they were in the way. They were being a nuisance."

Weiss: "Don't you feel that what you did wasn't need. They were people also."

Shallot: "They came at us with the intent to kill. Even though they aren't a threat to me they could harm Ruby and Yang if they weren't cautious and you could also be harmed.

In my defense, it's like seeing a colony of ants out in front of your house. Even though they can't harm you, the kids inside the house might get ants bits which is annoying. So you decide to grab a cup of water mixed with some cleaning supplies and pour it into the anthill killing all of them. Would you feel bad about taking care of insects?"

The others become quiet thinking about it while Blake was laying on Shallot's lap relaxing not really worrying about it.

Blake: "We might not have all the answers, but we dis protect the city from taking a large amount of damage and made sure that the Grimm was contained to a single area of the city."

Ruby: "Yeah! And if anyone tries something like this again, we'll be there to stop them."

Yang lies down on her back while looking up at the sky thinking about the subtle look Shallot gave her when he mentioned looking out for one of their family members.

Yang: "Yay, teamwork, camaraderie, good guys, go team, alright, good job... So, what now?"

Weiss: "I suggest training for the tournament."

Weiss turns and looks at Shallot and the rest of them.

Weiss: "But I guess we have that covered at this point."

Blake: "So then..."

Ruby: "Uhh... Time for bed?"

Yang: "Please."

Blake: "I'm fine right here. You all can go back."

Ruby puffed her cheeks out while laying on Shallot's shoulder."

Yang and Weiss decided to leave with Zwei following behind them. Merlin had strings behind her while carrying Shallot's device and places it next to Shallot before running after Zwei and jumping on top of him before jumping onto Yang's shoulder.

Ruby, Shallot, and Blake were watching the sunset in the distance.

[Inside od Ozpin's office]

Vale's Government Council calls on Ozpin, who responds in his office. The headmaster aloofly stares outside his window.

Councilman 1: "Ozpin?"

Ozpin doesn't respond to them

Councilman 1: "Ozpin!"

Ozpin turns his chair towards his desk.

Ozpin: "Yes, Councilman."

A video feed of the councilmen is shown on a holographic screen with Ironwood's video feed in the corner. In the video, it shows that it was a student that was dealing with most of the Grimm but it also showed the destruction of the outer wall of Vale and some of the citizen's buildings. Further in the video were Ironwood robots escorting civilians who were still close by away from where the fighting was happening.

Councilman 1: "You've left us no choice! The Vytal Festival tournament cannot be broadcast, let alone held if we are unable to ensure the safety of the citizens. This time it was buildings of the citizens but next time it could be the citizens and even children."

Ozpin sips from his cup.

Councilman 1: "Ahem... Therefore, we have reached out to the Atlas Council and together have decided that the best action is to appoint General Ironwood as head of security for the event."

Ironwood: "Thank you, Councilman. Our Kingdom is happy to lend as many troops as it takes to ensure that the event runs smoothly and safely as possible."

Councilman 1: "And we thank you, General."

Ozpin: "Will that be all?"

Councilman 1: "For now. But after this festival comes to a close, we are going to have a serious discussion about your position at Beacon Academy. General Ironwood's reports over the last few weeks have left us somewhat... concerned. I am sure you understand."

The faceless councilmen's video feed disappears, leaving Ironwood's video feed alone with Ozpin. They silently stare at each other for a moment.

Ironwood: "This is the right move, Ozpin. I promise I will keep our people safe, you have to trust me."

Ironwood hangs up the video call. Ozpin then turns his chair around to look at the large Atlesian Airship outside his window.

[Inside of the Atlesian ship sat Ironwood sitting at a desk with his hands folded with his chin on top of them.]

Ironwood: "You brought this on yourself."

Ironwood then walks toward a heavily guarded Roman in his holding cell, albeit without his signature hat. Ironwood turns to the guards in the room.

Ironwood: "Leave us."

The soldiers leave Ironwood alone so that he can talk to Roman.

Ironwood: "I've been informed that so far you've refused to co-operate with the authorities."

Roman: "I know this might be hard to believe, General, but uh... I'm not the biggest fan of local law enforcement."

Ironwood: "How about the world's strongest military power?"

Roman looks around seeing that he could feel some dust embedded into some of the technology here and he could take control of it and make the airship useless after some great effort.

Roman: "Hmm.. first impressions... not great."

Ironwood: "I'm going to give you one chance. Who's really behind all this?"

Roman: "Isn't it obvious?"

Ironwood leans his ear toward him to hear his answer.

Roman: "You're looking at him."

Roman: 'I'm pretty sure you know who was behind this incident but you should probably be wanting to know who is behind the initial plan. The mastermind behind everything is Shallot since I technically work for him.'

Ironwood: "Hm.. Very well then."

Ironwood starts walking away.

Roman: "What's the matter, General? I thought you wanted to talk."

Ironwood: "The council's given me custody over you for as long as I see fit. So you can make yourself comfortable. I can be sure that you'll have plenty of time to talk. My semblance will lead me to the best outcome."

Roman: "Oh, wonderful. Hehehe..."

Roman laughs feeling stronger ki coming from the distance towards his direction at a slow pace.

Roman: 'So the plan can continue.'

[Cinder, Mercury, and Emerald meet discreetly at a rooftop]

Cinder: "All in all, I call today a success."

Emerald: "Those stupid kids really made a mess of things."

[In the distance with two females laying on him Shallot turned and looked and a certain direction]

Emerald shivered for a second while she could feel some sweat form on her back.

Mercury: "Yeah. A lot of Faunus didn't make it out of the tunnels. Do you still think the White Fang's gonna listen to us?"

Emerald: "A lot of Faunus... there were only two survivors down there and the only other ones only survived because they were on the train. They wouldn't listen to us even if we showed ourselves."

???: "No, but they'll listen to me."

Emerald: "Are you sure about that Adam? We didn't plan for that Giganti to appear since we can't lead them anywhere they go wherever they want and it was still taken down by Shallot."

Adam gritted his teeth thinking about Shallot while placing his hand over his left eye.

Adam: "I have a way of dealing with him. That monster won't be an issue."

Yang had gone out thinking about what Shallot was saying and that Blake told her when she appeared that he chased after someone that could create portals with a sword and they had a Grimm mask. While walking someone was standing in front of her. A swordswoman with a Grimm mask.

Yang got into a fighting stance.

Yang: "Who are you?"

The mysterious swordswoman removes her mask, revealing herself to be Raven Branwen, similar to Yang in appearance.

Raven: "Yang, we have a lot to talk about. Shallot is dangerous and you shouldn't get close to him."
