Chapter 94 - Technical Difficulties (1)

Everyone was sitting on the ship while Shallot had Ruby sitting on his lap with a notebook writing in it. Shallot was holding her and guiding her wand writing a report on all the things they came across and the mention of a Grimm.

Shallot: "As the team leader you need to make a report on what happened while we were in there and document the type of Grimm, what we did discover, how many Grimm we came across quantity-wise, and how much information was gathered.

While Shallot was going over the information with Ruby and showing her how to write a field report for the first part of the mission Professor Port got a message appearing on his scroll. He opened his scroll seeing that a relay beacon closes by was being tampered with and they could get information on what is happening in the area.

Professor Port: 'It seems that Dr. Merlot is trying to interfere with the children's mission and decided to mess with the other relay points. It seems that we will have to find Dr. Merlot and stop him before he causes any more problems. If we can stop him early we can make sure that he doesn't do any more damage.'

Professor Port turned his head to address the students on the ship.

Port: "We have another point to stop by before this mission is over. From the information, we got from the last place we know for a fact that the missing doctor is the one behind the recent Grimm attack on the city and also the lab from before.

He has been working on capturing and experimenting on Grimm to control them and seems to be trying to make a specific type of Grimm. If this was in my younger days I would have taken Blowhard and dismantled all of the Grimm that he has with him."

The ship flew for another 40 minutes before arriving at their next destination and they were capable of getting some rest while Weiss was back in top shape. Ruby was cuddling with Shallot while Velvet was paying attention to them. Coco also paid attention and only thought that Velvet was too slow.

Blake was sitting close to Coco and giving her ideas on how to become stronger and training methods that Shallot had her doing when they were younger. The ship had finally come to a stop and they got ready to disembark. The ship was low to the ground this time and they all hope out.

The area they were in this time looked like an old abandoned ruin. Most of the area had stone pathways in the distance whenever the natural dirt road from the forest wasn't there.

Port: "Another area, another security network in need of repairs. Keep an eye out for any clues for Dr. Merlot's interference in the mission. We're all counting on you!"

All of them started walking through the stone path and looked around and could see some pots every now and then. They were looking around slightly amazed by how just leaving to go to another area in the same forest could have different architecture.

Blake: "I wonder if there are any books with information about this place."

Coco: "If there is any recorded history about this place then it would be in the library at the school or online. You can always check when we get back or check your scroll and check the internet for information about this place. Most hunters use their scrolls to get information about locations they have missions in and gathering information is the best way to prepare beforehand so you aren't caught off-guard.

Blake then also told about her experience about how to track since she had the experience without saying that she was part of the White Fang. While they were talking they came across a Boarbatusk standing in the middle of the pathway looking in a certain direction.

Port: "These are more dangerous than the Creep Grimm you've fought before. When it sees you, it will spin before it charges. While it's spinning, dodge out of the way or overpower it if you are strong enough. It will be disoriented after it passes you.

That's when you strike! This Grimm might be smaller than the others but they make up for it with their agility and ramming power. They aren't as strong as the Alpha Grimm that you face but if they blindside a hunter they can disorient them so it is best if you are cautious while out and about."

Nora just launched herself and swung down onto the Boarbatusk without even giving it a chance. It wasn't killed with the first smash but it was disoriented. Nora pulled her hammer back and swung it like a baseball bat sending the Boarbatusk flying through the air smashing into a tree.

They then continued walking and came across a cliff overlooking the ruins.

Weiss was looking at the ruins and the old buildings that were in the place that was below the cliff while getting a good overlook of the place.

Weiss: "That's a long way down."

The sun was in the distance and the sun was already setting leaving a beautiful view of the old civilizations buildings.

Blake: "It's beautiful."

Yang was also happy about the view since she enjoyed being outdoors and physical activities.

Yang: "I've always been more of the outdoorsy type."

Jaune was amazed that he could see a view like this while being on a mission.

Jaune: [whistle] "Nice view!"

Nora was looking over the cliff for the distance towards the ground.

Nora: "That's a long way down!"

Pyrrha: "Wow, what a view!"

Ren: "All of the world… Before us…"

Ruby wanted to try something she had always heard people talk about for caves and large places.

Ruby: "Helloo! Echo!"

Echo: "Helloo. Echo."

Velvet: "It's such a beautiful view from up here."

Coco: "This would make a great backdrop for modeling photos for a temple theme."

Yatsuhashi: "It looks serine."

Fox: "Nice View."

Shallot picked up Ruby from under her arms and face the ruined place.

Shallot: 'I quite like this place. I might go ahead and keep this place for when I have my family. I can have some people move here and work on rebuilding this place.'

Shallot: "Everything the light touches our kingdom. A King's time as ruler rises and falls like the sun. You and the other girls will be the queens who oversee all of this as on this day I declare this as our land."

Ruby was listening and also confused about what Shallot was doing.

Shallot: 'My joke was lost to the Ether wasn't it.'

Weiss: "You just can't go claiming places as your own just because you like the way they look."

Shallot: "I have the strength and power to make this place habitable so I can."

Fox cut into the conversation.

Fox: "I don't see anything wrong with that logic."
