Chapter 107 - Below The Surface (2)

They continued going and came to some stairs walking up to them. They went up the stairs and walked further seeing that they would have to jump down into a crater to continue forward.

Ruby was spending her time hovering around still and was starting to come down to walk. She was starting to feel more tired the longer she flew.

They hoped down while looking around. There were a couple of Beowolver there that they need to take care of but Team CFVY and Team JNPR dealt with them.

They had to deal with 1 Alpha Beowolf, 1 Ursa, 10 Creeps, 1 Alpha Creep, 8 Beowolves, then 2 more Alpha Beowolves. Jaune fought the Ursa while Ren and Nora took 1 Beowulf each. Pyrrha dealt with the Alpha Creep while Coco and Velvet were fighting the 10 Creeps.

Yatsuhashi was dealing with another Alpha Beowulf while Fox was fighting 8 Beowolves. He was dancing around their attacks and attacking only when he could use one as cover and went after another. He would use the steps that the Grimm were making to keep track of them and attacking from the blindspots of Grimm.

Shallot was paying attention to this and thinking that he did the same thing when he was training his senses years ago.

Shallot: "I guess everyone has their own style to use and fighting method. I wonder if he trained hard enough he would be capable of using Haki in the One Piece world."

Shallot was mumbling to himself as he started doing squats to get a workout in since it seems that the others could handle themselves right now.

Shallot tried using the technique of One Piece before remembering them from when his little brother forced him to watch it with him. He thought the show was interesting but complained that there were so many episodes.

Anytime he tried using a technique from that world it wouldn't work no matter how many times he tried or how strong he got. It wouldn't work even when he tried using the abilities recently. It felt off for some reason. He would try to do them and it would look like it would start but not work for some reason.

Shallot: 'Maybe there are certain rules set so that you can't do things that go against a natural order of things here... but why can I use ki if that's the point?

Maybe I can only use techniques of worlds I've been to? If that is the case I need to find a way to earth so I can read some of those manga's my brother mentioned. I can have a large number of worlds to travel as long as I can get access to them.'

While Shallot was thinking about things that could be interesting for the future. He finished doing some squats and was sweating from the pressure he was dealing with and looked to see that everyone had dealt with the Grimm. Velvet came over asking how did she do in her use of incorporating the ki into her attacks.

Shallot: 'She looks so adorable.'

Shallot rubbed her head with her ears standing straight up and they started moving side to side.

Shallot: "You did good Velvet. Now you just need to use the ki to strengthen yourself whenever attacking in close range since long-range attacks from copied weapons don't work unless you fire ki instead.

Firing ki by itself would be better since your weapon inside made to be constantly using ki. Although once you're strong enough you wouldn't need a weapon."

Velvet tilted her head looking at Shallot's weapon.

Velvet: "Why do you use a weapon then"

Shallot: "Because it limits me... also because I suck at using a scythe so it makes it more challenging for me. If I had to choose a weapon personally it would be either a bastard sword or a war hammer. This makes it so I can train my control at all times since if I don't control my strength I could break the weapon."

Ruby heard this and also came over.

Ruby: "But you train me in using techniques with the scythe?"

Shallot: "I know how to use one and with my strength, even a wooden spoon can be a deadly weapon if I want it to be. A scythe is just something that I know moves for."

Shallot: 'Also due to the unhealthy amount of hours I put into the Ninja Gaiden series and mastering all of the weapons. Every combo move is stuck in my head no matter how much time passes. Especially the katana moves.

If I still had my katana, even without using ki I would be classified as a weapon of mass destruction. Which at this point I'm pretty sure I'm a walking calamity now that I think about it.

I wish I had a scouter so that could at least tell how powerful I am. I don't really want to just fire a full-blown attack at something and then discover I can blow the planet up.

That would be the dumbest way to die after reincarnating and being in a place where nothing can kill you... well, maybe some poison and diseases but no man would be able to kill me.'

Velvet could see that Shallot spacing out with a slight smirk on his face.

Velvet: "Is he alright?"

Blake came over and saw the look on Shallot's face remembering he had the same look on his face when he blew up a mountain after saying he was going on a midnight walk.

Blake: "He's probably thinking about if he would destroy something far more than what he thinks if he used his full strength. At least he didn't say that he's going on a walk."

Ruby didn't know about this look but she does know about a different smile he gives when they are alone. Ruby started blushing and closed her legs rubbing them together thinking about it.

Ruby: "I think I'm becoming a bad girl."

Shallot snapped out of it and looked towards Ruby.

Shallot: "But you're my bad girl. My cute bad girl."

Ruby nodded her head at that and hugged him burying her head in his chest to hide her blush. Velvet was seeing that and could still feel Shallot stroking her head even when he was spaced out.

Shallot leaned toward Velvet's ears to whisper to her.

Shallot: "I want to turn you into my bad girl also so that we can do what rabbits do best."

Yatsuhashi flicked some of the black gunk from the Grimm off of his blade and looked over and Coco looked over and saw Shallot whispering something to Velvet with her face turning red and blushing like earlier.

Coco: 'She likes him definitely and I can see why. He has a body that looks like it was sculpted. He would make a great model for some of the outfits I have.

Maybe I can coerce... convince him to do a photoshoot in exchange for some "training time" with Velvet... but if he breaks her heart I'm going to break his balls. She's like a little sister to me and I haven't been protecting her from assholes all this time just because.'

Shallot felt a chill run down his back and looked around and noticed that Coco was looking in his direction.

Shallot: 'Oh... don't tell me she has a thing for Velvet and she trying to glare me away or something. Well, two can play at that game.'

Shallot pulled Velvet in next to Ruby while whispering into her ears.

Shallot: "Won't you become mine Velvet. I will make sure that you are the happiest girl in the world."

Shallot then looked over to Coco and smirked. Coco seeing that turned away thinking that something happened and she wasn't completely sure about it. She also feels like she was insulted just then for some reason.

Velvet was blushing heavily and started hyperventilating.

Velvet: 'Mom said that be with the person that you love, but do I love Shallot... he's so nice and strong and I feel comfortable with him. Yang kept telling her that he is great in bed but she hadn't slept with anyone before. Will he be gentle with her, or will he be rough.

What do I do do I accept or do I decline. This is going too fast for me. I wasn't expecting my mission to go like this.'

Her eyes were darting back and forth and she turned to see Ruby right next to her with a smile on her face being close to Shallot. Velvet looked at Shallot and nodded her head meekly while her thoughts were still running through her head.

Velvet: "Ok."

Velvet was quiet with her answer but Shallot still heard it and had a smile on his face.
