Chapter 113 - Right On Track (3)

They continued moving up the slope with Shallot making better time after getting used to the pressure but the sun was almost completely gone.

Coco: "We should probably run so that we can make it or we'll have to sleep in the forest tonight. I don't mind since our team is used to staying out while on missions."

They all started running while Shallot tried keeping up knowing that he needs to exert himself more since he has to run. They started moving with Shallot lagging but he wasn't going to go easy on himself and will stop using his semblance when he gets back to the ship.

They made it up the path running further upward into the mountain and could see some Grimm in the distance. There were 22 Beowolves and 19 Creeps. They could see that there is a tunnel behind the Grimm.

Team JNPR and Team CFVY dealt with the Beowolves and 19 Creeps while Team RWBYS was going to check what was through the tunnel when they could hear more Grimm coming.

32 Beowolves, 11 Alpha Beowolf, 11 Major Ursa, 13 Creeps, and 5 Alpha Creeps came running through the tunnel. Shallot was moving quicker now that he was adjusting more and more. He could get to a slow run now.

Shallot: "Ruby you deal with the Beowolves, Weiss you deal with the 13 Creeps, Yang you deal with the 5 Alpha Creeps, and Blake you will deal with the Major Ursa's and I'll also take care of some of them. "

Everyone nodded their heads and rushed towards the Grimm. Weiss started setting her glyphs so she can cover a large area and move in between attacks easily. As soon as the Creeps came close enough she stepped on a glyph and launched herself plunging her rapier into the skull of the Grimm.

She placed another glyph on the ground speeding off towards another glyph so she wouldn't get surrounded. She used hit and run tactics with the Creeps.

Yang was close and personal while sending ki-infused punches at the Alpha Creeps making cracks in the bone plating on their body sending a flurry of punches. Anytime a Grimm tried hitting her she would use her arm to parry the attack away taking small damage and feeding her semblance.

She was using the methods that Shallot taught her about using the small amounts of damage to building up while she thrashes her enemies. Two Alpha Creeps were trying to attack from different sides and she would attack the legs to hinder their mobility.

She tore down their ability for movement while laying into the feeling that she had everything under her control.

Ruby was jumping off the arms of the Beowolves and cutting them apart when they attacked. She learned some tips from Neo the last time she was over and how to use your opponent's strength against them. Anytime she thought she was being surrounded she would throw her scythe towards the outside of the encirclement then use her semblance to petal burst away.

She used this method to slowly widdle them down. Blake was looking at Major Ursa and wanted to try using the method she saw in her dream. She used her semblance and instead of focusing on the shadow, she focused on it being made out of ki. She was slightly winded from using it.

It wasn't moving like in the dream but she guessed that it was harder than it appeared to be. She tried to grab the clone but her hand went through it. She thought about it for a bit and covered her hand in ki. She was then able to grab her ki clone and chucked it into the group of Major Ursa.

The clone hit the ground and exploded making it look like a nuke explosion taking all the Major Ursa's with the explosion. Everyone stopped and turned to look at the explosion. Blake had her mouth open not expecting for it to be that strong since she didn't try to load it heavily with ki.

Shallot: "Well damn, that was like a fat man nuke from Fallout. I wasn't expecting something like that to be used for a semblance move. That could be used as a suicide bomb maneuver without you suiciding."

Blake: 'How the hell did future me come up with something so dangerous!!!'

Blake looked at the pieces of Grimm flying everywhere turning into black puddles and other parts evaporating. The Grimm that was attacking had also stopped seeing the explosion and felt an uneasy feeling in their core like they had just witnessed their worst enemies.

The Grimm had all turned to Blake and rushed towards her. More Grimm was coming through the tunnel 41 Creeps, 13 Ursa, 34 Beowolves, then 4 Alpha Beowolf. Shallot darted forward at a moderate speed heading into the group of 34 Beowolves. With every punch or kick, a Beowulf would drop dead.

Blake rushed into the 41 Creeps and started attacking sending ki enhanced strikes into the faces of every Grimm she came across. She would wrap her ribbon around her Gombal Shrouds and started spinning them and lacing them with ki. She was spinning them with her ribbons like they were chains.

Every place she passed a Grimm would be split in half. The others were watching the slaughter that was happening to the Grimm.

Coco turned to her team seeing them amazed at what just Shallot and Blake could do. A horde this large would usually take a large number of Huntsmen and Huntresses. She knew this amount of Grimm could be used in attacking Vale if they aren't dealt with.

Coco: "I think it's best if we try our hardest and that is enough. Winning the festival doesn't seem possible now with Team RWBYS participating."

Yatsuhashi just nodded his head and Fox was listening to how the fight was going. He hadn't thought that a Grimm could make certain sounds while being killed.

Velvet tapped on Ruby's shoulder pointing at Shallot moving sluggishly but still killing every Grimm with only one attack.

Velvet: "Why isn't he using his weapon?"

Ruby: "I don't. I guess he doesn't want to. He is far more dangerous with just his fist."

Everyone had gathered back together seeing that all the Grimm were concentrating on Shallot and Blake for some reason. Blake was shredding the Grimm apart with her Gombal Shrouds while Shallot looked like he was talking a stroll.

Yang: "Shallot always said that his fist was registered weapons and that he was a weapon of mass destruction. He knocks teeth out that's what he calls plaque reduction."

Yatsuhashi: "Is that a reference to something?"

Yang: "Nope but it is one of the reasons why we don't worry about him. He's confident enough to back it up and *I haven't seen anything that could break his aura let alone wound him."

Coco looked at Shallot walking and destroying the army of Grimm while Blake was slicing and dicing. They sat there until Shallot and Blake were finished and Shallot was sweating slightly.

Shallot held out his hand feeling the drain on his body and used the spirit orb technique again. This time the energy didn't form into a ball but form a thin layer over his skin and went into his body.

Shallot: "I'm making progress on it. Once I finish it I'll need another name for it since it won't be an orb that's formed."

Shallot had finished refilling his energy while the area around him had withered just like when he first used it to get his energy back. Moving so much used so much energy but as long as I grow stronger I don't think it matters. The forest will return to how it was in a couple of months or years if I don't constantly do this here.

They thought that they were finished and walked back to the others. When they got back over there they could see that the others were just waiting and looking at the disappearing bodies of the Grimm.

They were getting ready to head through the tunnel finally when they heard another Grimm roar but this one seemed different. It was the same size as a Major Ursa but it was a Beowulf or some variation of it. It had long green spikes coming from its back and the mask on its face seemed to already be cracked.

A type of liquid was coming from the inside of its mouth and with every drip of it touching the ground everyone could see it corroding the ground.
