Chapter 116 - Girl Talk

Velvet was having a hard time sleeping while Coco, Fox, and Yatsuhashi were already asleep. Velvet got up and walked over towards Yang and sat next to her who was keeping watch.

Yang looked and saw that Velvet hadn't gone to sleep and was wondering why she was still awake when their shift wasn't for another two and a half hours.

Yang: "You ok Velvet? Can't sleep?"

Velvet: "I have a question."

Yang was interested in what question she had that was keeping her up. She knows that most people can head to sleep easily when they know they have to be awake later on for their shift if they're experienced enough. She knows that Team CFVY is experienced from the number of missions they have been on.

Yang: "Sure, what's the question?"

Velvet exhaled getting ready to ask the question that has been slightly bothering her.

Velvet: "It's about Shallot. I was wondering why are you all ok with him having more than one wife. Even if you said that it's because of his sex drive having more than two people should be enough shouldn't it."

Yang: "The reason is that Shallot treats us all well and we feel safe around him. We know that no matter what happens that Shallot will have a way to deal with it because he is dependable.

When I first got together with Shallot it wasn't just an act of the moments I had thought about it... and I was slightly jealous that my little sister was a step ahead of me. Shallot was there helping us in academics for school, for training so we can be stronger, and even taught us some of the things he knows.

Weiss complains about the smell of our room because we sometimes indulge ourselves a bit much but I think it's just because she's bitter."

Weiss over in the distance was also eavesdropping on their conversation wanting to know the reason they were ok with it. It seemed ridiculous to her. She couldn't imagine a Schnee possibly sharing their husband with anyone. Where would her pride be if she let something like that happen?

Weiss: "Hey!!! I am not bitter!!"

Velvet lifted an eyebrow not thinking that Weiss was paying attention since she was some distance away.

Yang: "You only complain because Neptune hasn't made a single move to be intimate with you. No hand-holding, no dates, no going out shopping with you or even talking about things that you would find interesting. You both sit around awkwardly looking at each other and making awkward small talk now and then."

Blake cut in while she was off to the side reading her book that Shallot gave her. On the front cover, it had a Ninja on it and the title read "Ninja Gaiden Shadow" it was the second book in a series of 12.

Blake: "You both spend most of the time commenting on each other about your style of clothes. It seems pretty shallow to me honestly since any time I walk past you both you seem like really close friends and not people who like each other.

The look you both have when I see you are more towards infatuation and not love. I can say that I fully love Shallot and from the way, Ruby is I'm pretty sure that she's the same. Yang is a special case though."

Yang looked at Blake not knowing what she meant by that.

Yang: "What do you mean by that?"

Blake: "You feel safe around Shallot because he's strong which is closer to how someone would be if they were looking for affection constantly. You also like him because he can make you stronger and you seem drawn to the strong by instincts. So instead of Yang feeling love, she is more following the instincts which are telling her to be with Shallot."

Velvet: "And you both are fine with me being there with Shallot and getting between the time he spends with you all?"

Yang: "I don't mind as long as the person that is trying to get with him isn't trying to use him. We also need to agree with who is being introduced."

Blake: "Because if we find a girl that is trying to use him then she will disappear without Shallot ever knowing what happened. That's the agreement that we all have come together for."

Velvet had a chill run down her spine thinking that that's a scary thing to think about.

Yang: "Besides, we think that you'll fit with us since you should be able to spend some time with him in and out of the bed. We aren't only tired from the bed. He also pushes us to train and even though I enjoy fighting and getting stronger Shallot tends to go overboard sometimes."

While they continued talking Weiss was having an inner conflict with herself thinking that maybe she did only have an infatuation with Neptune.

Being called shallow by Blake didn't help either since she knows that what she was attracted to was his looks and she still doesn't know much about him while she knows more about Shallot even if she didn't want to.

Yang could see that Weiss was spacing out and thinking about something and was wondering if they had hurt her feelings. They would support their friend in whatever way they could but they also didn't want her to invest a large amount of time only for it to fail and her feelings to be hurt.

Yang just thought that Neptune was far too awkward when it came to conversations with girls and was mainly acting when he did things. She had seen a lot of guys who act a certain way to try to get her attention when she was at Signal Academy.

She learned that some people only act a certain way to get your attention but when you get to know them then you find out that they're nothing like you thought they would be. One of the reasons why should only make friends with guys because they always acted differently around certain people.

Shallot always acted the same. He would either act goofy just to lighten the mood but would be serious when he needed to be. He always told what he was thinking about a person and wasn't afraid to start a fight which is what she liked.

Yang: "You ok Weiss, your spacing out like how Ruby was earlier."

Weiss: "What?"

Yang: "If you like Neptune then go on a date with him and if he says no then maybe you should think about how you want your relationship to go. You can always go after the festival is over."

Weiss was having thoughts in her head about how she could ask Neptune for a date but she knows that Neptune is really timid when it comes to being close to females.

Weiss: "Alright Yang. I'll ask him on a date during the last day of the tournament."

Yang: 'Hopefully supporting her decision will end well for him or else she will punch Neptune in the face if he hurts Weiss's feelings.'

Velvet had her answer and she was ok with it and went back to sleep before it was her turn for her shift. She went back to her bedroll and laid down closing her eyes drifting off to sleep.

While Team JNPR and CFVY were asleep Blake, Weiss, and Yang were sitting around a campfire keeping a watch out for anything that could wake the others. They were coming close to the time when their shift would be over but some Grimm had made their way over to them.

They could see the eyes glowing in the dark looking at them. They saw twelve pairs of eyes looking at them getting closer every second. They wanted to deal with the Grimm without waking the others.

Blake gathered some ki in her hand forming a ball the size of a baseball and had it continue to grow. It then started to flatten into a disc. She saw Shallot do this before and had been practicing the last couple of weeks to learn this. She wanted to surprise Shallot and show it to him.

She threw the disc making it curve cutting 5 of them in half. These Grimm starting dissolving almost immediately after being cut by the ki disc. She noticed that the move was rather efficient and went and made to more on her hands. She threw both of them dealing with the other 7 fairly easy.

After those Grimm, they didn't see any more come towards them during their shift.
