Chapter 146 - Sister Talk

"Oh? Then what do you think you've learned?" Winter asked wanting to hear Weiss's experiences from her mouth.

"What do you mean? I'm getting better and better with my glyphs! I've even started to become amazing at time dilation. With the speed at which I can use my glyphs and outmaneuver anyone I come across, I unbeatable... unless it's Shallot or Blake." Weiss trailed off knowing that those two were still far ahead of her. She still said it with a proud look on her face.

Winter was interested in who this Shallot and Blake was that even with the skill she showed in the match was. From the fight she had watched, she could tell that she was the fastest from the group if everyone was moving there fastest.

Winter hadn't seen Weiss use summoning which their family is known for and wanted to know if Weiss was working on her summoning.

"And what of your Summoning?" Winter asked.

Weiss turned her head looking away. "You know I can't," Weiss said knowing that it's the one thing that she isn't good with. It feels different than using the glyphs which she has gotten amazing at.

Winter looked at Weiss as if what she said wasn't possible. " Don't be ridiculous. Every Schnee has the ability to summon. We have for generations." Winter said while thinking that maybe Weiss has focused heavily on time dilations and her other glyphs.

Weiss gets upset hearing that. She knows that every Schnee has been able to do it but she couldn't which has been frustrating her. Since she has been training with Shallot her strength has increased greatly and her sparring against Blake has helped greatly.

She was looking at Winter knowing that she was expecting more from her.

"I've tried! It's just... it's the one thing I've been having trouble with!" Weiss said with emotion knowing how hard she tried. Anytime she wasn't training with her teammates she would try to summon but still couldn't even after practicing.

"We Schnees are unique. Unlike many, our Semblance is hereditary. But that doesn't mean it will come easily." Winter said while lifting her palm making a small elaborate glyph on her palm.

"Your Semblance is like a muscle. The more you practice with it, the stronger it will become. But if you only focus on one aspect of it..." the glyph on Winter's hand expands suddenly in a bright flash, causing Weiss to turn away before looking back up in awe at the white-and-blue Beowolf now at her sister's side.

"If you fail to test the limits of what you think is possible, then you'll never truly grow. You must become flexible with yourself and allow different things. You must be able to adapt to what is going on around you so that you can continue growing." Winter said while explaining why she thinks that Weiss hasn't been able to summon even though she was clearly strong enough.

A caterpillar is slowly inching around on the edge of a fountain at Weiss points her Myrtenaster at the ground, creating a rotating glyph made of blade symbols with Winter behind her, appraising the effort.

"Excellent form! Now think to your fallen foes! The ones who forced you to push past where you were, and become who you are now." Winter said seeing that Weiss was doing fine.

Weiss was thinking about the Beowolves that she could easily take out without even using her semblance. They weren't someone that could push her anymore and were weaklings in her eyes. Why did she need to summon something weak enough to be dealt with by her without her semblance.

"Think of them, and watch as they come to your side," Winter said while Weiss was concentrating wanting to just summon something.

Weiss glyph circle was circling quickly and started wobbling after a small ape started appearing before it shattered into ice.

Weiss hit the table thinking that she just wanted it to work cracking the table. She has always been able to use her intelligence to set up other glyphs and do things as long as she tried hard enough. Why was summoning so hard that everyone else in her family can do.

Winter's hand immediately comes down on Weiss' head in a slap.

"Stop doubting yourself!" Winter called out seeing that it was starting to form but she also wasn't familiar with the type of Grimm that she was summoning. There were a couple of monkey-type Grimms but none like the one she had seen forming.

"I'm trying!" Weiss replied thinking that she has always been trying but it always fails. Even if it starts to form it won't stay.

"If this is what you call trying then you have no hope of becoming a successful Huntress," Winter said while smiling when she got an idea.

"Why don't you just move back home? I'm sure Father would give you a nice job as a receptionist!" Winter said to Weiss.

"I don't need his charity!" Weiss said while looking away thinking about how she had her card canceled and couldn't even buy her own food.

"But you do need his money, don't you?" Winter said while leaning closer to Weiss.

"What!? How did you know about that!?" Weiss asked since that only happened yesterday and her sister shouldn't have known about that.

" Lucky guess. I may have been in a similar situation when I joined the military. So what have you done this time?" Winter said while straightening herself knowing that the same thing happened when she left and joined the army.

"Well, that's the thing: I'm really not sure! I went to pay for lunch the other day, but the card didn't work!" Weiss said while tilting her head not understanding why her card wasn't working.

"How embarrassing," Winter said with her hand over her mouth in sarcasm while looking at her little sister.

"I know!" Weiss said but then noticed that Winter was shaking her head not catching her sarcasm. "Well, it was! Why would he cut me off like that?"

"Perhaps so that you'd stop avoiding him and call home," Winter replied already knowing the reason for why her card was cut off since it happened to her before.

Instead of answering, Weiss attempts once more to create a summoning glyph, gritting her teeth until Winter places a consoling hand on her shoulder.

The Glyph was as large as the table that they were by and was still expanding.

"Emotions can grant you strength. But you must never let them overpower you." Winter gave her advice while the attempted glyph flickers and fades once more, though neither of them pays it any attention.

"It sounds to me like you have two choices in front of you. You can either call him, beg for his money back, and explain once more why you would want to study at Beacon over Atlas, or you could continue to explore Remnant, discovering more about the world and honestly, more about yourself." Winter gave her point of view knowing that Weiss should take her time and decide what she wants for herself while she is still in school.

Winter gives Weiss a hug showing that she has support from her family still and that she can always talk to her.

"It's time for me to go," Winter said after their bonding time.

"It was really good to see you, Winter," Weiss says while releasing the hug.

"Until next time, sister," Winter said but stops after taking a couple of steps.

"I forgot to ask but who is this Blake and Shallot that you think so highly of," Winter asked.

"They are my teammates and I have to admit that the reason that I am so strong is because of him training all of us," Weiss said.

"Oh, so are you interested in this Shallot since you speak so highly of him," Winter asked while smirking.
