Zhu Shin heard a lot more birds than usual. Since he took a nap in his office at the underworld, sometimes es animals are transported and pass in front of his office. But, all he could hear was wind, birds, trees rustling, and dry leaves hitting against each other.
Hmmm~
He opened his eyes and was incredibly confused because what he saw around him were large trees and leaves on the floor. He seemed to be in a forest after some sort.
'Hm... what am I doing in a forest? Wasn't I just napping in my office?'
He didn't know why all the trees were so tall and the leaves were larger than he remembered. But, he stumbled when he tried to get up and walk around.
PUU!
He hit the ground of leaves. When he stumbled the first thing he noticed was his furry paws and arms.
'What?! How could this be?'
Zhu Shin used his paws to touch his head and tail only to feel ears and a tail. He also noticed a loght purple bow tied around his neck. It was a little ragged but it didn't look bad and it was clean as well.
'Hm... so... from the ears and tail I should be some kind of cat.'
At first Zhu Shin thought it was a dream but concluded it to be reality since the fall he took earlier was only a bit painful due to the weird way he landed. Was all of his life in the modern world a dream and this is reality? It couldn't be possible. He could clearly remember the modern world.
Luckily Zhu Shin accepted illogical things much more than others and had read a few novels of being in another world when he was young, the memory was vague and blurry though.
"Whatever the case this is I shall find out soon enough with time."
He sighed at his predicament and started focusing on walking instead. He got the hang of four limbs quickly after falling a few times and moved to find a lake or body of water so he could at least see his reflection. He wanted to know if his theory of being a cat was true.
Soon enough he chanced upon a lake with clean water, unlike murky water he also saw on the way here. Looking down into the water he could at least see his appearance. To be honest he estimated himself to be a little over a foot long and seemed to still be quite young. What really suprised him was that he had heterochromia. His purple and red eyes glowed and his black fur complimented them and made it shine brighter.
Even though the purple bow was a little ragged it looked good with his overall appearances, he didn't complain about it. In fact he kind of liked it's look. You could even say he really liked the bow for some odd reason
Since he was still a kitten somewhat, he decided to test what his cat body can do. Flexing his paws, sharp black claws had come out. To him, the claws on this cats body looked incredibly sharp. Sharper than any other cat's claws.
In the distance he saw a small brown bird standing on a low branch.
"I guess I'll be testing these claws then."
Zhu Shin crouched down as low as he could, since his fur was black he would stand out in a bright forest. He slowly got closer and closer until he was as close as he could get.
SSHHHING-------
He pounced higher and faster in the air than he thought he would, but he saved it and slashed at the surprised bird. Each of his claws cut deep into the bird, each claw marks almost went straight through the birds body. He hadn't even been using his full strength yet.
"How powerful are these claws of mine?"
Zhu Shin thought about it. He had read a novel about other world creatures and people being much more powerful than the modern worlds. How strange. If a cat like him was this powerful other creatures should also be more powerful than him.
"That's bird however, it didn't seem like anything special. It didn't react quickly either, it was just just a normal bird."
The bird from earlier threw off his theory of all animals being much stronger here. He looked at the bird laying on the ground. He shouldn't waste perfectly good meat.
He picked it up in his mouth and rinsed it in the water at the lake so it wouldn't be as messy. He plucked the feathers off and started eating, it wasn't that bad. Perhaps being being a cat changed his taste buds.
...
Nightfall came and the forest he was in completely transformed from a bright place with bright green leaves, into a pitch dark forest that sent chills down you're spine if a predator saw you.
Zhu Shin didn't have any problems like that though. He even felt MORE energetic than during the day. His eye sight also much clearer. He thought the blurriness was from the heterochromia, but but he overlooked that cats were mostly nocturnal, especially kittens like him.
Everything seemed so clear to him. The colors were just as they were during the day in his mind he could differentiate the colors even though what he saw was black and white, however he hadn't gotten confused with the time since something within him told him it was night.
Since it was night and most animals were alseep he took the chance to explore a little. He had a feeling of preferring being awake at night instead of day, so he decided to travel mostly at night.
...
Zhu Shin explored and studied the plants and animals he saw. He walked around and admired the bugs he came across, some that he found even glowed all sorts of crazy colors such as blue, pink, and yellow. Some were even a mix of different colors.
The sun was staring to rise and Zhu Shin felt a little sleepy. Luckily, he already did tests of what he could do. His claws could rip through tree trucks and his bite force was enough to snap branches that could fit, even a little, in his mouth.
Zhu Shin let out a big yawn after using his claws to climb a tree and lazely sleep on its branch. Zhu Shin just spent too much time exploring and researching all night so he was just too tired.
