'What's going on..? There's so much noise...' The rumbling sound of the ground was shaking him to the core.
Loud roaring and small growls were surrounding him. However, although he didn't understand what those growls meant, he new they were more happy than angry.
Crack--
It was dark in this place he was in, but suddenly a blinding bright light seeped into a crack above him. It was painful, since he didn't have enough space to turn his head away. The only option was to close his eyes and break even more of the thing he was in.
'This should do it...' His legs started kicking with all his force above him. The white light grew even more as the top of the thing was kicked off, creating a large hole.
'Woah~! What is this place?' The thing he was trapped in had tipped over and he fell through the hole. A beautiful scenery was around him.
Maybe it was instinct, but he knew what was around him. Nests made of hay, hundreds of dragons from big to small, as well as eggs of all different colors and types.
He looked around some more, his vision got clearer, and something in his mind appeared. Another dragon. A black scaled dragon with large wings and bright lime green eyes. He felt some familiarity with it. It was as if he sought to find one.
'Why can't I find a dragon like the one in my mind...?' He looked around all around him. There was no dragon that looked even close to the one he felt a connection with.
'What..? Why..?' He started running on his four legs while tripping every now and then. He still could not find a dragon that he thought resembled the one in his mind. No matter how hard he looked around.
There were large red fiery dragons, and blue spiky ones plus many more. However, there had yet to be a single one with completely black scales and green eyes. An unknown feeling of terror was looming over him.
Hours passed and it was growing darker. Some of the adult dragon started blowing this hot bright thing out of their mouths, to warm up its own children.
'I can't... or... can i..?' It was growing darker with each passing minute. Many small baby dragons were protected by its parents, and huddled close to eachother.
He had no choice but to try using those flames that the adult dragons used. Through his own will, he tried building up a fiery feeling, but to no avail. Soon, it got darker and darker until it was pitch black. He couldn't use fire, but something strange happened.
It felt like he could see everything so clearly. The sandy beach and rockiness behind it. The waves were also also clear as day. He could almost see even better than during the day! With this discovery, he persevered and continued practicing to bring forth at least a spark of fire.
An hour past and then two, but on the third hour of continuous trials, he got a warm energy feeling in his throat! He opened his mouth and a bright purple light was shining! He succeeded!
'But... How do I shoot this!?!?' He began a mini panic! He made the fire thing, but now what should he do with it? Try and fire it?
He didn't have much time to make a decision when the blast of plasma had been shot from his mouth. Luckily he faced the ground just in time and the blast was weak. Although, it still sent him flying a few feet back and bumped into another dragon.
"Uhh.. hi..?" She didn't look very happy with him, and shot a stream of fire that even charred the rocks. Luckily, he moved away quick enough to avoid being hit.
'Anyways... back to the fire..' He moved over to where he shot a bright blast of plasma. It was amazing! The purple plasma burnt the solid rock! He was dead set of practice to control it at will.
He didn't get a single wink of sleep, and instead dedicated the entire night to training his control over the plasma blast. Soon, after a few hours, he almost mastered controlling his plasma. Firing a bunch of small blasts or larger ones, was becoming an easy task.
'Finally, I can sleep.. in peace..' It was turning day by the time he fell asleep, while the other dragons got up and ran around with way too much energy. Hopping on different dragons or chasing after eachother, he didn't have any time to do that.
....
"Are you dead? Hey! Wake up!" A small dragon was pushing him while he was sleeping.
'A Deadly Nadder...' He just knew what the dragon was referred to as. He didn't actually know how though, it was just what it was.
He got up from his sleep. It was probably around midday from where the sun was, and he noticed the Deadly Nadder was standing on two legs. Although it was a small child, and was no taller than himself.
"What do you want?" He just got straight to the point, he was sleepy and didn't care about being social with another species of dragon.
"Hey.. what's your name? What kind of dragon are you?" The little Deadly Nadder seemed like an extremely curious one. Asking questions like that, the small dragon probably noticed that he was the only one that was completely different from the others.
"Name..? What's yours then?" To be truthful, he didn't know what a name was. Of course he wouldn't have one.
"Well, a name is what you call yourself, my name is Pine, but I'm also called also Deadly Nadder! Get it?"
'Name.. what should my name be...? Sand.. Cloud.. Star... Night.. Glade..!' He liked the sound of it more than any of the other words.
"My name's Glade."
"Well nice to meet you! Wanna go practice flying?" Before Glade could give an answer, Pine had run off, so he had to run after him. Luckily, he was pretty fast and caught up at the edge of a steep cliff.
'What..?' He stood in the back and watched a few other dragons standing at the cliff. He was going to observe to the fullest.
A strong breeze came in their direction, and the small dragons jumped! However, unlike what Glade had thought would happen, the small dragon's wings spread and they drifted back.
