- Hey guys! I realize that the MC kinda swears a lot and if you want me to cut back on that, please tell me. I understand and want to make reading this story as comfortable/enjoyable as possible.
They didn't stay in the estate for very long. Lou Fang had requested they stay for at least a week so I could rest and heal. However, I insisted on leaving soon. I didn't want to stay in this city any longer than nessicary.
And even though the house was very nice and the servants had treated her well, I can't help but feel...bored.
Without my phone, time seems to move by much slower, and with my injured legs, I couldn't wander around the house and explore. All I could do was sleep, eat, and chat with the nearest person. I was naturally a very social and chatty person, and I was a bit uncomfortable in silence. I would normally blabber on and on about TV shows or books or the weather. Anything I wanted, really and the people around me just learned to tune me out.
Despite having almost no knowledge about anything, I still managed to find something to talk about. I asked Lou Fang how he had become a healer,
" My parents died when I was a baby, so the temple took me in and discovered that I had a rare talent for healing." He revealed.
"They raised me the best they could and gave me a plethora of resources so I could grow into my potential." Lou Fang paused,
" Eventually I found my way into this little group of ours." He finished with a charming smile and my heart melted a bit. °˖✧(≧∇≦)✧˖°
Unfortunately, Lou Fang was the only one that opened up to me about his origins. Adan just smiled and changed the subject. Ying Chen just straight out ignored me and Cael mumbled something about them all being childhood friends.
Since I couldn't reveal my backstory, I would question them about their interests. Surprisingly I had the most income with Adan, who was a magnificent storyteller. He knew all types of ancient lore and would tell me storys about demonic cultivators, and corrupt emperors and would act out fight scenes with Ying Chen.
In return, I told them storys from my own world. I started with basic fairy tales because I was a sucker for those stories anyway. I told the tale of 'Snow White and the seven dwarfs'
" A young woman should never live alone with seven men who are of no relation to her." Ying Chen proclaimed. I looked around and pointed to myself and then gestured t the group of men around me.
" Yes, but Snow White was beautiful was she not? So you have nothing to worry about" Adan snickered.
What'd this guy say? (ꐦ ಠ皿ಠ )
Apparently sensing my murderous aura, Cael chimed in, "of course you are beautiful! We are simply respectable gentleman that would treat you with respect."
"Even if you're personality is a bit ugly." Ying Chen said in a low voice, but not low enough that the ENTIRE ROOM DIDN'T HEAR!!! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
" I'll have you know, I'm a f*cking delight to be around!"
Okay so maybe after a couple of days with these guys, my *cough* unrestrained personality has come out. But, they remind me so much of my old friends, that I can't help but feel comfortable around them!
They all acted so relaxed and carefree, with the exception of Ying Chen, who always looked like he ate something funny. XD
With the ambiance of comfort, food, and good company I was starting to feel like myself again.
-----------------------
One night, I decided to open the little black book. I pulled it out of my space ring and just looked at it for a while, unsure of what to do next. I still felt that same pull toward the book, like a cold hand had reached into my chest and was tugging at my heart, pulling it toward the book.
My ears began to sting as I reached out and gently opened the book. And...
It was blank. Every page was just, blank.
Well, that was anti-climactic!! ಠ_ಠ
I wondered if this was some H*rry P*tter type stuff. Like if I wrote something down in the journal, a fragment of my middle-aged nemesis soul would respond. Honestly, I would not mind-
Young V*ldemort was a kina a snack (/≧ω\)
I reach out to grab an old fashion pen and a bottle of ink placed on my nightstand and begin to write I the margins of the blank page.
'Hi'
I wait...and wait...and nothing happens. ಥ﹏ಥ
I rack my brain to think of other ways to activate this thing.
Mana? Mana's like the magic in the earth or something, right?
When I read cultivation novels, I normally just skipped over the cultivating part and went straight to the romance!!! I know that it was a probably a really big part of the story, but I was there for cute fluff!!! I didn't have the brain cells to read about the MC gaining power. In the end, they were all OP so it didn't matter!!!!
Was this some weird form of karma?!?! Author Gods, I'm SORRY!!!!! (*꒦ິㅿ꒦ີ)
Deepppppp breath.
Innnnn and outttttttt. *in hale, exhale*
I still read SOME of the cultivation parts. And you know, what?!? I'm a college graduate from the 21st century! I freaking know calculus, okay! This tiny book, can't beat me! I'm the MAIN CHARACTER!!!!
I try to focus on my spirtual core. Wasn't it supposed to be like a shiny little thing inside of you? And then as you cultivate it changes color???
I close my eyes and try to control my breathing. Focusing everything I have into my deeper subconscious.
" You're just a good-for-nothing spoilt b*tch!!" a woman shriek, shakes me from my meditative state.
I blink a couple of times as a memory surfaces in me.
F*ckkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
It seems like Yu Yan wasn't an outcast just because of her birth. It seems she also didn't have the ability to cultivate!
So she had acquired the nickname "the good-for-nothing 3rd Miss"
My situation really is too pitiful ಥ﹏ಥ
