A very Different Effect...

"Hmm, nothing?" Eden looked at the second floor as he asked himself. "How come nothing is happening?"

Eden had been waiting for an event to occur, but till now nothing seems to be happening at all. "Let's wait some more."

It's not like he had anything else to do anyway. Finally, after checking around at the products for around ten or so minutes, he saw both of them walking away from the second floor towards the lower floor.

"Could the system be broken?" Still seeing no changes even after some time, Eden turned around to leave.

Eden didn't have extensive info on how this luck attribute worked. But he did have some basic ideas.

For example, he knew luck was the reason he was able to produce gene reagents on every single try, which also meant that the luck only took effect when he himself was somehow involved. So maybe when the luck was in effect he was probably supposed to be in somewhere middle of the events.

In other words, either the intended person should do something that could affect Eden somehow or, he himself should start an event or events.

Though, he still couldn't extensively figure out how his luck took affected of his surroundings right now. He will probably understand it more in the future.

"So right now, it was better to leave the shop, " Eden concluded while getting out of the shop.

....

"Let's get you boosted." Laffey walked down followed by Victor to get him another reagent to increase his mental attributes.

"Have much have you been studying?" Laffey questioned Victor as they were walking down.

"If you're talking about my memory then I gotta say, the reagent I took last time was a really great help. Whatever I study, it's not getting out of the head anytime soon."

"Good." Laffey replied nodding his head, "Oh yeah, what about this Warson? What was his ranking in school?"

"He is third."

"And you?"

Smirking Victor replied, "I am first."

"Not surprised. But it's not you who achieved the position, is it? What was your position before taking the booster?"

"Eighth," Victor spoke in a hesitating voice.

"See." Laffey again questioned, "Anyway, who's this second position holder?"

"She was our class monitor."

"A lady huh. Any boosters?"

"A lot."

"Oh! Like?" Laffey questioned with an interest.

"Mental, physical, genetic abilities, she had probably taken as much as the whole class combined," Victor replied in a dull tone.

"Hmm, How come you don't sound excited?" Laffey questioned with some slyness. "She should have taken some to increase her charm as well, didn't she?"

"We all knew how she looked like before she took those boosters," Victor replied shrugging.

"Oh!" Laffey nodded his head in an understanding manner. "It's kinda useless to take the booster. If others already know your look. Anyway, how much did those work for her then?"

"Not in our class, and also not on teachers. But can't say the same for the others." Victor continued in the same voice, "If not for her begging with every student in the class to take the position, she wouldn't have even got that either."

Laffey shook his head while smiling. "It seems like your class was probably the rowdiest in the school."

"It was." Victor accepted the answer easily.

"What about this Eden? You said he was third?" Laffey questioned gazing at Victor.

"He was."

"Warson huh. Must have taken huge loads of low-grade boosters." Concluded Laffey because of the surname.

"None."

"One? Just one reagent and he's third?"

"None."

"..." Suddenly Laffey turned silent.

They had already reached the lower level of the shop. Though some noises could be heard when Victor replied for the second time. The surrounding also became quiet.

Laffey thought it was only in his head, however, from the corner of his eyes, he could see not just him but even those a bit further from them, when heard the answer for a second time all looked gobsmacked.

They both were talking in a bit higher than the normal voice inside the shop and there were few customers too. So it was quite natural for others to hear their conversation.

However, hearing a person ranking third amongst other students amongst those that stacked themselves with boosters without taking even one was too unbelievable.

"A genius! Must be a genius." A person closer to them both concluded.

"Mr. Marklord, please don't be so loud," Laffey replied to the person because of his conclusion. "Also, please don't try to listen to other people's conversation."

"Hahaha... I don't think it's possible to not listen to your conversation. Your voice is so loud, it's resonating around the whole shop " hearing his reply other people too nodded their head in agreement.

"I guess it was my fault then. Sorry, for disturbing you all." He replied turning around to leave.

"Wait, Wait, Don't leave! I still have a question." Suddenly another guy from the corner of the shop spoke out. "Is this guy taking part in the upcoming competition?"

"..."

...

Unknown about the situation in the shop, Eden was again walking around the market place. After all, there were just so many kinds of stuff he had never seen on the other planets before.

And like always the main target for mechanics and gene producers happened to be licenses and gene reagent formulas.

Right now, he was in the market that sold gene formula. He was looking at a formula, that was way different than those he had ever even practiced.

It was not a consumption reagent. But it was something he also wanted to try. Though the first question that arose in his head was, could he increase it's capabilities too?

The same way he did it last time. The reagent formula he had in his hand right now was called "Gigantic Blaze Explosion".

This was something he wanted to add to his kinetic weapon system catalog.

"Let's hope, it's not a wrong choice," Eden mumbled while paying for the formula. Finally, he turned around to buy another rifle license when he suddenly stopped.

"Why don't I make an assault rifle from the scratch?"
