Chapter 32 : Bargain

Axion suddenly kicked Vidone's face. Knocking him to the floor. Rosario's girls screamed and they immediately stepped away along with the other waiter and waitresses. The rest of Rosario's people pulled their gun. Kaizo was about to summon his energy shield. But Axion stole Vidone's gun and shot them before they could shoot.

"Don't show your power! They mustn't know about it," Axion whispered.

The Dj start playing energetic fight music. Kaizo punches one of Rosario's soldiers and steals his gun. He began to shoot back. Chaos filled the bar. Customers immediately run towards the exit. Axion fights furiously, making sure no one escapes without a punch in the face. Kaizo observed Axion in astonishment. He's never seen Axion fight so barbaric.

Axion viciously attacks her enemies. Kaizo could almost hear the sound of cracked bones with every punch she threw. He flinched when Axion stabbed an alien's eye with a sharp edge of a broken bottle. Axion lift an alien and throw him to the bar.

The bartender ducked. The alien hit the glass shelf and fell to the floor along with bottles of alcohol. The bartender stands back up and continues to wipe the glass indifferently. Rosario still sits calmly on his sofa with Amos. He sometimes kicks away thugs that fall near him.

The music stopped as soon as the fight's over. Kaizo and Axion cautiously look around. Rosario slowly claps his hand.

"Bravo! Amos is right. You really are a S class bounty hunter, Noche," said Rosario. He raises his glass and gives a nod to Axion. "Come sit with us."

Axion sits without looking at Kaizo.

"So, a job worthy for a S class bounty hunter, isn't it?" Rosario asks. He takes a cigarette and lights it. "I know people like you," said Rosario. He inhaled his cigarette before blowing out the smoke with a smug face. "You're kind of like my executioner, Amos. But more lively."

Axion stays silent. She sits on her chair like a polished statue. Firm and dignified.

"You're getting bored of easy kills. So you come here expecting something more challenging," Rosario continued.

"...I was expecting to loosen up and treat myself a good vacation while doing small work but, yeah. A more challenging work sounds good," said Axion.

Rosario laughed. He threw a computer tablet on the table. The tablet shows holographic data of an alien. "This man is bothering my business. You see? This club and the area around here is mine. And this guy keeps trespassing my territory like he owns the place," said Rosario.

"You want him alive?" Axion coldly asks.

"You can bring him alive?" Rosario asks back.

Axion looked at Rosario. "I can," she firmly answered.

Rosario can feel her cold eyes through her mask.

"Right. I'm looking forward to your surprise. I'll pay you right once you bring him here."

"I want something else than money," said Axion.

Rosario looked at her sharp.

"I want information," said Axion as she took a sip from a random drink on the table.

"Interesting." He leaned back on the sofa. "What information?"

"I'll tell you once I get your target. Don't think about backing out," Axion dared him.

Rosario laughed. "And if you can't?"

"Isn't it obvious. I got nothing."

"Sounds a little unfair to me." Rosario leaned forward. "How about this? I'll give you whatever information you want in exchange for my target. But, if you fail, I'll have Amos execute you," said Rosario in a deep tone.

"Deal," Axion coldly answered.

Rosario slowly nods. He pulled back to his sofa. "By the way, I haven't quite caught your partner's name here," said Rosario as he pointed at Kaizo.

"...You can call him Mr. K. I just hired him an hour ago," said Axion. Kaizo looked at her in disbelief. "After all, a Lady needs a proper escort too," she adds as she walks away.

The cold air welcomes them as soon as they're outside.

"Mr. K?!" Kaizo asks in confusion.

"Well, as I said. You didn't come prepared when you decided to follow me. And you never really came up with a bounty hunter alias so..." said Axion innocently.

"I don't understand. Why take a job from Rosario?" Kaizo asked.

"What do you think?"

"Hmm... You want to build trust so Rosario can easily give you what you want. But, I still don't understand. Why go as far as hunting Rosario's target list only to get information about Mademoiselle Mendoza's Cirque de Sombre?" Kaizo asked.

"Rosario is a mafia, not an informant. We can't just pay him money in exchange for information. If Rosario knows what we want, he'll get suspicious and he'll make us pay higher than just capturing one alien. I intend to ask for information about Mademoiselle Mendoza's Cirque de Sombre in exchange for our target," Axion explained.

"What if Rosario refused to pay us?"

"Then we take side with the target," Axion casually answered.

Kaizo let out a distress sigh. "So, how are you going to find our target?"

Axion silent for a moment. "Let's wait until tomorrow."

Kaizo looked at her in confusion.

"It's late. We need sleep for our circus training. Plus, you have a big role for our incognito mission," said Axion as she turns away.

Kaizo pulled her hand. "You're not going to fight on your own, are you?" Kaizo firmly asks.

Axion silent. "Why would you care?" she asked with doubt.

"Don't come at me with that question. I am still your captain. Anything related to this mission needs to go through me."

"I know. I'll call you if I got something," said Axion.
