Chapter 83 : Making Plan

"Spread out! Find them!" Flavius yells.

Sveratis knights scattered around the woods, looking for Kaizo and his team.

"They shouldn't be far. We need to get them back," said Flavius.

Just a moment ago, the camp suddenly went dark. Flavius went out of the confiscated items tent. He ordered some men to fix the lights. But by the time he returns to the tent, the items confiscated from Kaizo and his team are already gone.

"I suppose we can't underestimate a police chief's daughter," said Sir Virion.

"Do you really believe her confession?" Flavius asks.

Virion shrugs.

"How did they do this? The camp was pitch black for just a few minutes. And they managed to escape and get their belongings back," said Flavius.

"Whoever they are, I don't think they're with General Versatel," said Virion.

Flavius looked at him. "You think so?"

"The General is ruthless. If it were him, he would send someone to bomb this place. And we would've been dead by now," said Virion.

"But if they're not with the General, why are they here then?" Flavius scoffed. "Don't tell me you believe their story about vacation."

"With CupNoodles in one of their bags, honestly I almost believed it," said Virion jokingly.

Flavius chuckled.

"Whoever they are, I have a feeling we're going to meet again," said Virion.

"What makes you think so?" Flavius asked.

"It's a hunch," Virion replied. "Besides. If they're not here for vacation, they're probably here for our affairs," he adds as he returns to the tent.

Meanwhile, Kaizo and his team are trying to figure out their next move.

"So, what have we got so far?" Kaizo asked.

"The people and knights at the camp were the Prince's convoy. They're there fighting the suspected terrorists. But it turns out, it wasn't terrorists that they were fighting," said Axion.

"What is it then?"

"Mercenaries. It was a trap," she answered. "From the report I got, they received information about the terrorist, and the prince himself set out to confront the terrorist. But turns out, they were mercenaries. Paid by general Versatel to play and act as a terrorist. Upon confronting the mercenaries, General Versatel appears with a group of elite forces and takes down many of the Prince's knights. The Prince was badly wounded. When they tried to return to the Kingdom, Versatel already took over the Kingdom's border. Preventing them to enter the Kingdom," she explains.

"So the people at the camp. They can't go home despite being a Sveratis citizen."

"Yes," said Axion. "The Prince decided to sneak into the kingdom. But Flavius disagreed. He thinks it's too dangerous for the crown Prince to act rashly and confront Versatel. In the end, the knights got divided. Those who followed the Prince left weeks ago. While those who didn't, stayed at the camp, following Flavius. They've been living in the camp for a while."

"This is a terrible situation," said Ramenman.

"I did a background check," said Axion. "Flavius' family is a noble family supporting the royal family. His father is a chancellor. Flavius himself is an official aide to the prince."

"We also got a list of people working at the camp. They all look clean to me," she adds.

"Does that mean we can trust them?"

"The only thing we can trust is the fact that they're the good guys. Or at least, they're supposed to be the good guys. We can either cooperate with them or we can use them. Either way, their loyalty to the prince can give us advantages. Considering that we have General Versatel as a common enemy."

"The enemy of my enemy is my friends. There goes the saying," said Ramenman.

"So what now? Give the cargo to Flavius and let him deliver it to the Prince?" Rum asks.

Axion put out the sapphire ring. They all looked at it.

"...I want to deliver this myself," said Axion. "It's not that I don't trust Flavius. I just think I would be at ease if I could deliver it myself and make sure that the ring finds the Prince."

"Okay. What's on your mind?"

Axion looked at her team. "Let's sneak into the kingdom."

Suddenly, the computer makes a beeping sound.

"What is it?"

"It's the camp," said Lahap. "They're being attacked.

Kaizo and his team looked at each other.

Meanwhile, at Astraeus station...

A spaceship approaches Astraeus station. It slowly descends at the hangar. Few Astraeus officers waited patiently for the ship's passengers.

A man with dark brown hair walks out of the ship with two men behind him.

"Welcome to Astraeus. Please follow me to get through screening," said an officer.

The three of them followed the officer along with two security guards.

"Can you tell me what's your purpose for visiting?" asked the officer.

"We're here looking for someone," said the man with dark brown hair.

"Who are you looking for?"

The three of them glance at each other for a moment. "Can we have an audience with your Admiral?"

"Have you made an appointment beforehand?"

"No. We have not."

"In that case, I don't think he can meet you. He's very busy. Unless you have made an appointment, you can't see him," said the officer.

"Can't you do something about that?" asked the man beside the dark brown-haired man.

The officer looks at him with doubt. He shrugs. "The Admiral is usually very busy. But I will ask him if he has spare time."

--------------------------------------------

"Sir, someone requested a meeting with you," said an officer.

"Who is it?" Maskmana asks.

"We're not sure, Sir. They said they came from Terra. We can't find any record about them in our system. They don't have any official intergalactic ID. They're looking for someone you might know and they insist on seeing you," said the officer.

Maskmana looked at his computer, looking through the result of the screening procedures.

"I will greet them," said Maskmana.
