Fallen **** Chapter One Hundred Eighteen

Two officers stood at the valet booth and one beside the patrol car, the attendant pointed toward me as I walked out of the east entrance of the hotel, "That's the lady! She dropped off the truck at about 5 this morning! She just seemed sooo----suspicious! Why weren't any charges filed against her for the car she just ----abandoned! The owner said he would file charges against her! She's crazy!"

WHAT?

I didn't care about anything else inside the truck except the book and the briefcase, that's all, that's it, and would go to jail trying to get it if necessary. I took Pooh's phone from my handbag and remembered Kerri had also robbed him. The officer approached me and asked my name as Alexander and Louisa exited through valet, their chauffeur waited in the valet zone. "DEAR?" I heard the old woman say while telling Alexander to see what was going on. "She is one of our special guests for the event, what seems to be the problem?" He asked.

The officer removed his hat before respectfully and apologetically saying there was a call about a vehicle that had been reported stolen. He explained the truck would be towed and I would be arrested for car theft, two counts before beginning to read my rights.

"There has to be a mistake," he said. "She has no reason to steal anything! What is the damage, surely this can be taken care of without the raucous!" He was retrieving a gold money clip from inside of his vest pocket underneath the wool coat."

"Sir, this is a police matter."

"Who called u?" Louisia asked.

The attendant stood near convulsions in the cold, he admitted to calling because something just felt strange.

"You're fired!" Louisa yelled out angrily, "She is a special guest."

"Why would the truck be reported stolen?"Alexander asked while the attendant yelled out, "I can't get fired two days before Christmas!"

I explained the owner was shot at my home in Metairie by one of them, I'd needed transportation to get away from it and that it was filled with the stench of blood. He had reported the truck stolen while in the hospital.

"Can't this be resolved after the Holiday's? She has her own vehicle, I'll call Leland to bring the Bentley."

WHAT?

"Well I guess we don't need to write a report, she don't seem like a criminal. We're sorry to cause a disturbance but need her to come give a statement after the New Year," The young officer said apologetically.

By now there were guests arriving to have their vehicles parked and they had also come from the building to observe. I was somewhat ashamed but knew I needed the book. Would they leave the truck though and how would I get my shit?

"I have things inside of the truck!"

"Certainly," Alexander said.

What did he mean, was he in agreeance or was there more to his comment?

I asked for permission to get my items, they still had the key and hadn't given me a ticket when I dropped it off.

Louisa beckoned the young man who still ranted about his job, he approached her humbly. She instructed him to retrieve my belongings and put them in the Bentley when it arrived. He was furious and yet asking about his job.

Black Sambo was near tears, I somewhat sympathized, "I have two daughters," he said walking toward valet parking.

"Where do u live?" The officer asked me after asking my name.

I gave it to him and the address to the Metairie home but included that Martin Poindexter was my father. He apologized once more. I said I lived at the Windsor Court now.

Louisa walked to where I stood and informed me that the problem would be adjusted.

Two of the three officers apologized again before cancelling the tow truck, they had even requested a female officer. I wondered about the Honda, who was he? The owner was a female, wasn't it?

All of my belongings were brought to Valet, he handled them roughly and was about to have a nervous breakdown, but where was the book? It was still under the seat. I told him I needed the book and briefcase from inside before he returned back to the truck.

He showed up with the book, but dropped it to the ground and threw the briefcase against the podium. It had just fallen from his arm and landed on its spine, opened halfway to a perfectly illustrated picture of a snake. For some reason, I could tell the picture disturbed him, he quickly picked it up and threw it on top of the Louis Vuitton bag I had brought along before looking at me frightened. I laughed.

The Bentley soon arrived as the McNamara's sat in the Limo, service had resumed and the officers were leaving. I would find Sherbert and shoot his soft sweet fat ass again.

I decided to attend the Christmas banquet in the luxurious ballroom but decided Shonda should come along. I wondered about being privileged to bring a guest and texted both Nathaniel and Shonda, she would be arriving in about 30 minutes to the Metairie home.

Something jarred my memory, Rashinda's grave. As a teen I would sleep on top of it, I'd run away from home and was found in the cemetery. I wondered about Porsha, her daughter.

I felt connected to her, she had been killed almost ten years prior to me being found asleep on the grave. I remembered her story, the only part I'd known and she had mentioned needing to feed her children when she got inside of Daddy's car. Me being on the grave raised red flags, believe me I paid for it.

She was still alive when he'd drove away.

Her remains were in a grave with no marker, but I knew who she was, she would soon have a tomb stone with her birth and death date---which was my birthday---June 23rd.

I was astonished, had Alexander given me his personal car? A 2012 Bentley Continental Flying Spur had been delivered to me, its red interior hadn't even held one piece of lint, its immoderate detail was equipped with buttons and had seemed so futuristic. I imagined how exorbitant the new ones had to have been, however, the one I had been granted hardly even looked driven beforehand, and as I figured, there were only slightly more than 500 miles on the dash. Why was I so favored I wondered before tipping the valet driver a hundred dollars who had just been fired, I laughed at his hastiness for me to depart and told him he could work for me...ha!

Before Louisia's limousine departed, Alexander winked at me out of the lowered back window.

I had never imagined driving a Bentley, let alone never knew I would own one, he'd given me the car.

I headed toward Metairie, and felt like I'd been trapped to return.

The drive was only 20 minutes, but I'd drifted into deep thought. I arrived at the home and saw a Malibu parked out front, Mr. Shonda sat inside. I got out, "U ARE PREGNANT?" She asked unaware. Well---yea---I forgot to tell her.

She grabbed her skin faded head and said, "This better be worth my time."

I told her to get in the Bentley, she asked whose car had I stolen, "I know u."

What the fuck? I wasn't a thief! I kill bitch I don't steal!

I told her it was my own and asked if she was going or not.

She was the only person I could explain the scenario to, I had to start the details back to the night I was released from prison. We rode toward Ethel, with the book.

The dream hadn't set well with me, why had the old man locked Trenton inside? I understood why he had been subjected to evil, his mother had a demon also, they all were! Nathaniel had converted and said he was a believer in Christ but something had to have frightened him! How had he gained immunity?

He texted and said he would arrive in an hour.

Shonda still inquired about the car while pushing buttons for the stereo not believing the series of events, when she finally turned it on a Hungarian suicide song played from the speakers. I swiftly turned it off, she'd heard the chant and hadn't known what it said but looked disturbed. Somehow I understood and could clearly hear since leaving New Orleans. Kerri had made her own bed and had to lie in it. I looked at the damages the excavation crew had caused when we arrived before ripping down the tape tied to the trees. The Orchard entrance was destroyed and I felt a disturbing aura while looking cautiously for snakes. Shonda asked where we were while saying the place was romantic. I told her I owned it. Trenton weighed my heart heavily, I hadn't known my husband at all and I had given him a son!

Shonda reached inside of a pouch she carried and pulled out some weed, I stated I hadn't known she smoked. "I knew u did though, I would smell the weed when u were in Seg 6, I knew the nurse would bring it to u, but where would u get the lighters?" She asked.

It was so long ago, I couldn't remember.

Trenton had angrily said the shed wasn't a confession booth and he had painted over my writing, what had I written on top of? Nathaniel had to shed more light. I decided to take the book inside of the shed. Shonda continued to ask questions, I ignored them and asked if she preferred a dress or tuxedo for the banquet before she got offended but agreed on a tuxedo.

I'd seen paint thinner somewhere on the property but couldn't remember where. While attempting to I heard a vehicle approaching, and figured it was Nathaniel, instead it was Lawrence. What did he want?! I saw the Silverado park at the gate and decided to abort my mission. Somehow I felt the names I had written were vital in one way or another, I had even written Trenton and Trena's mother's name inside with the details of her murder, I had helped. Lawrence approached and eyed Shonda like she was trespassing before calling her an abomination---in his mind. He came to see the damages and had heard about the ground being broken. I told him Shonda would help find Christy, his demeanor changed.

"Who is Procell?" I asked holding the book. "The Duke of Hell, he rules over 48 legions of demons. Can u read? I should have known u could."

Legions? How many demons were there I wondered and at that moment I figured they had to reside among mankind, demons didn't die and just like The Nephilim, they fell to earth.

He inquired about the book, I'd said it had come from Martin's library and he'd known all about it. I'd been intimate with Terrell and he'd introduced me to it all in the letters, The Devil's Alphabet.

Fluently, I had read.

The air was cold, and the December wind chilled my bones, I could yet see the two trees in season. I knew my nephew laid inside of the ground, morally I wanted to do the right thing but what would be the aftermath? Had Kerri buried her own son as Kie had said?

She was adamant they had taken her son but even I knew the mindstate she was in and who were the siblings she was getting acquainted with? I thought about all of Martin's children as Lawrence said insurance would compensate for the damages, I couldn't name them all. Had there been 10 or 11?

I wanted to dig up the metal box, what was inside? Among the objects that were dug up lied a broken vase, the contents inside looked like gray sand until I determined it wasn't a damn vase at all. Shonda had no understanding now that she was high, and was ready to go but had plenty details about information I had requested that would only be in the police database. She complained of being tired and asked to return to the home where her car had been left. I told her we would leave soon. My phone rang, in tears I answered my daughter's call. Her lovely voice was distorted but I could hear my baby, my second born.

"Where are u Hazel?"

I laughed, she would not call me Mama, Carmella was her Mama. I told her at the Orchard, she immediately warned me to stay away from the tree because she'd climbed when she was little to get an apple and was thrown from it to the ground. I became disturbed when I remembered her breaking her leg. I asked about my second born daughter Twalla, she had an earache and could hardly hear. Something was wrong with my children, Antwan's children. I felt less than a mother. Why had Tobias pressured him about the key as if he knew he would die that night, I remembered it like yesterday and thought about Marta. I told my babies their grandfather would come and get them soon. They missed me as I missed them and I promised things would change. We ended the call.

She'd said she was thrown from the tree? Which tree?

I had also asked Ryella about the letter, I wanted to know what the backside read. "Didn't u read it Hazel?" she asked before saying she didn't really remember, but she had to.

Nathaniel parked behind Lawrence's truck before getting out, they were acquainted but his reaction to seeing him was soul stirring, he said we had to leave right then. I took heed to his words as Lawrence angrily walked through the orchard looking at the mess that was made. I just wanted to be normal, didn't they understand!? I even considered what Troy had said, get rid of the child, what did he know? Far away from home incarcerated in New Orleans I knew I had to prove Trenton was alive to free him, but I couldn't be with him as before---neither of them. If I proved he wasn't dead I wouldn't be entitled to the land or any of the other riches I'd inherited from his demise. If he was dead, I had killed him myself.

How he wished Martin was his father Nathaniel had said once, he felt he had failed him by converting his beliefs, it had nothing to do with the bonds. I'd told him as we walked to the truck I had them. "Any money Martin provides is cursed. Do u think it could not be collected? "A good man leaves an inheritance for his children's children, but the wealth of a sinner is stored up for the righteous." Again.

Trenton hadn't cashed the bonds for a reason, Nathaniel wanted no parts in them as well as the money Twan tried to give him after the heists, he'd only told Trenton his father had taken it as instructed which caused conflict. I asked about Procell---again, I needed to know who he was! I'd seen him in a dream but what was his significance to the shed? Had it been he who had given Martin the context way back then? I'd seen him and touched his eyes, he'd begun to see me clearly and said, "They will bring u down to the pit,u shall die a violent death in the heart of the seas."

I remembered the passages from Ezekiel. He continued; "U were anointed as a guardian Cherub and was blameless in your ways until wickedness found u."

The child spake on Lucifer's fall, Ezekiel 28:17 but quoted in God's own words, "Your heart became proud because of your beauty and splendor, So I threw u to the Earth---

I remembered running away on my knees in the dream but when I woke up my feet were scarred from briars as the first child's had been. I had understood, and it was too late.

Why hadn't Martin wanted me to talk to him?

When Shonda gave me the information she'd found on him I knew I had him by the balls, he now had to play by my rules.

I returned to the Court, the frequency had returned to my ears, but I could hear, it would only be when I went to Martin's home the waters would completely consume my hearing.

After parking the vehicle I'd been given Shonda and I returned to the fourth floor, I was greeted by the bellhop exiting the room, he'd left an elegant ball gown on the bed with a tag on it that read "Guest of Honor."

While Shonda looked around in amazement and spoke her voice became distant, I was losing consciousness.
