Dragons Blood

A dark suit coated in thick red blood. The slash across Kylo's face stung like a million knives being pushed into him.

He heard a faint sound. Almost a cry in the distance. He swore he recognized the voice, yet he couldn't place it.

Suddenly, everything went blurry, then faded to a darkness that took over him as his black hair hit the snow.

Blue eyes pierced the dark. Hux was trembling. If it was because of the cold or fear he was not sure.

He followed the blood trail further into the woods. He wasn't sure what he would find but he prayed it would be rewarding. He didn't want to be left alone again.

"Ren!" His voice felt raspy against the cold air.

"Kylo Ren!" He called out for what felt like the one hundredth time that night.

Nothing. Not a word. Only the echo of his own voice.

"General, here!" A stormtrooper pointed into the distance. Hux quickly looked and what he saw made his heart stop. A man lying there, almost lifeless.

Hux ran to him. He picked up his head and rested it on his lap.

Kylo's brown eyes stayed shut, unchanged. Hux felt his chest. Felt for a pulse, and luckily, he found one.

Kylo felt a wetness lingering on his face. His eyes fluttered open to see a nurse above his head applying a wet cloth to his forehead.

"Glad to see you awake, Sir" the nurse said.

Kylo looked around.

"What happened?" Kylo asked.

"You were lying in the snow unconscious, Sir. The general brought you back"

Kylo closed his eyes again. He replayed the battle with Rey in his mind. He failed. He embarrassed himself and everyone else who stood for darkness.

"Get me Hux" he snapped.

The nurse ran to the meeting room to fetch Hux immediately.

Hux rushed into the room not 5 minutes later.

"Ren thank god you're ok!" He said in excitement. Kylo had never heard him sound so...happy.

Hux looked around and shut the door quickly. He glided over to Kylo in his bed and placed his lips upon Ren's.

A soft moan slipped from Kylo's lips as he kissed his lover.

"I was so worried about you" Hux whispered.

Kylo frowned.

"I let you down" He whispered back.

Hux looked him in the eye and smiled.

"You didn't let me down. You're a hero. You're my hero" Hux replied.

"I lost the fight" Kylo argued.

"That blood you see? That's dragons blood. And dragons are warriors who never lose"
