Saving A Naive Girl

"Wh-ere you go-ing? You bitch!" The guy was able to stutter amidst the pain as he was staggeringly trying to stand up.

His legs were trembling and his whole body was still twitching, he was trying to endure the pain brought by her kick to his crotch.

"You still have the nerve to call me a bitch huh?!" She kicked his shin and once again he was brought back to the ground writhing in pain.

"Let's go" she grabbed the girl by her hands and the girl willingly left with her.

"Hey! Urgh! Fuck!" The guy was still loudly cursing her and she brought her hand up with a middle finger on it.

"Go fuck yourself!" She yelled back at him and continued their way to the parking lot.

As they were walking, she could hear the sobs of the girl and she panicked. "Are you ok? Why are you crying?"

"Yes, I'm ok. It's just that I felt so helpless as he did those things to me and I got overwhelmed with how brave you were….Thank you very much"

The girl wiped her tears that wouldn't stop falling down but she flashed a smile at Beatrice.

'Maybe she got traumatized with the event, poor girl' Beatrice thought to herself as the girl was still crying and she could hear her sobs.

"Hey if it's alright with you. I could give you a ride in case the guy shows up here again"

She nodded with great fervor and she tried to say yes and thank you but her sobs made it impossible to hear it clearly.

One thing Beatrice couldn't stand was harassment and she just couldn't leave this girl alone with what she experienced a while ago. Beatrice would be too heartless to do that.

They went to her car and the girl sat next to the driver's seat.

"By the way what's your name?" She asked as she pulled out her keys and started the engine.

"T….Tina" Tina was slowly calming down and her sobs were gradually dying out. She pulled out a handkerchief from her pocket and blew her nose.

"I'm Beatrice"

Beatrice focused on the road as they drove away from the convenience store where that fucker was still lying down.

"You should learn to defend and stand up for yourself and not let other people do those unnecessary things to you." She advised Tina and her sobs were uncontrollable again.

'Oh dear, I've picked up a crybaby' Beatrice hoped Tina would woman up after this experience but she thinks that would be impossible.

"I'm sorry...I couldn't protect myself. I'm sorry I was not brave like you. I'm sorry I didn't tell him off. I'm very very sorry." She cried and she tried to wipe her tears that were flowing out like a dam.

"Stop saying sorry will you?" Beatrice couldn't believe how baby Tina was. She looked weak and acted weakly and it was getting on her nerves.

"I'm sorry" she hiccuped as she continued to cry.

"Haist! Just stop crying!" Her cries were annoying and uncomfortable since Beatrice doesn't know how to comfort someone who was crying.

"I'm sorry" Beatrice could feel her nerves popping out with her continuous sorry.

"One more 'I'm sorry' and I'll really tape that mouth of yours"

Tina was the type of girl that looks like a sophisticated and elegant girl in one glance but she's an epitome of naivety, vulnerableness, and a fragile girl.

She is beautiful, with her short bob cut hair and a petite body. Her style of clothing was also not bad and it was understandable for that guy to target her.

"I'm-" Beatrice glared at her and Tina shut her mouth after seeing her glare. She hiccuped but Beatrice also noticed that she was not crying already.

"Was it your first time getting harassed today?"

"No, I think this is my third time and someone was always there to help me" With what Tina said Beatrice's mind was about to go off on its own. She couldn't help but facepalm herself in her head.

'Is she stupidly naive or what?' She couldn't help but give her a dumbfounded look knowing she got harassed three times already and she did not do anything to protect herself.

"Girl! Not every time a white armored knight or a hero prince will come and save you anytime. God, are you someone who's acting as a maiden in distress? Are we in a play? Am I in a movie or a book?" Beatrice internally rolled her eyes sarcastically.

"If someone harasses you it's natural and common sense to protect yourself. You have a mouth so shout, you have arms and legs so either run away or fight back at him. You're not some kind of mannequin that couldn't do anything."

She preached since she absolutely hates women who can't do anything for themselves. She hates those who keep on whining and complaining but doesn't do any actions to change what they don't like.

"One thing why those harassers keep on harassing is because girls like you don't do anything for themselves." Tina had his head hung low as she took on all her lectures.

Tina's lips were pursed and she tried not to refute or deny what Beatrice said. Her head was still hung lowly and Beatrice couldn't see her expression now.

"Where should I drop you off?" Beatrice asked at the slumped Tina beside her. They already drove quite far from the convenience store.

"Just drop me here on the street. I'm sorry for disturbing you and thank you really for saving me." They were now in a place that was full of buildings, people, and cars and Beatrice was sure Tina was safe here already. The guy couldn't dare follow them and if he does, he'd be too thick-skinned to actually do that.

"Umm please give me your number so that I could thank you properly next time" Tina offered in a gentle voice and she grabbed her phone but then she remembered the smashed screen.

"I'm sorry. But I think I need to buy another phone. Let's just exchange numbers if we meet again." Tina gave a warm-hearted smile at her.

"Sure and please just drop me here in this area" Beatrice parked her car on the corner of the street and Tina went out.

"Thank you very much for saving me and for the ride" Beatrice felt warm knowing she was able to help another person. She smiled and waved at her.

"It's nothing and are you sure you'll be ok here?" Tina nodded at her.

"Yup. Don't worry!" Beatrice was glad she was cheering up and looked more positive than earlier.

"Ok" Beatrice looked at the time from her smashed phone screen and it was getting late. She was too absorbed with the convenience store ruckus that she lost track of time.

"Tina I'm going home now"

"Oh ok, goodbye and thank you very much Beatrice" She heard Tina yelled as she drove away.
