Onel - Fate

In the long corridor, it was empty apart from Tylem and Keith.

Starlight Paradise enjoyed giving those powerful patrons in the top floor freedom and privacy.

Located in all rooms on the top floor, each patron was given a golden button that could request their services when needed.

Despite giving it his all, Keith could not make Tylem's overwhelming grip falter in the slightest.

"If you know what's good for you, you better let go now." Keith warned, his eyes nasty.

"You want to threaten me after coming at me first?" Tylem loomed closer. "That's not how the world works."

"Hmph, as if someone like you would know how the world works. The world revolves around status." In pain, Keith still managed to sneer. "This is your final warning. Let go. If you knew who I was, I bet you would not be acting like this right now."

In the entire capital, there was no middle schooler who did not know of the great Keith Lin, the leader of Onel.

If Keith had wished to, he could have taken, with no trouble at all, the worthless title of 'strongest in Ivla' over that Taekwondo meathead, Balo.

"Oh?" Placing the lobster plate on the floor, Tylem pushed Keith against the wall. "That makes me want to let go even less now."

"Ugh." Keith's face scrunched up.

"Who do you think are?" Tylem mocked. "You think that, just because you have some status, you can lord over others however you want?"

Tylem, as a cultivator, believed that status without the strength to back it was like fragile glass. It could be shattered at any moment—this boy's false sense of superiority. Right now, he could take this lean black-haired boy's life in an instant, and no one would be here to stop him.

"I'm interested." Tylem continued, "What are you going to do after this final warning of yours?"

Tylem's pitch-black eyes were like two endless vortexes, discharging an intense frost.

"You insubordinate peasant." Keith growled, but he inwardly smiled.

"Fucking idiot, imagine dropping your guard against me of all people." Keith sent a low kick at the back of Tylem's knee joint.

Putting himself in a favorable position, Keith had planned to make Tylem focus on his face, which would leave the unsuspecting latter open to an attack around the lower body.

[I'll make you pay.] Keith smirked. [To me, your life is like the flickering fire of a matchstick. I can extinguish it with a breath.]

If Keith was feeling lenient, he would let the latter beg and crawl like a dog for his forgiveness, which would somewhat lessen his boredom. From what he had seen of Tylem's strength, this person would make a great lapdog. However, if he wasn't, he would just straightforwardly take the offender's life.

Even though Keith was just a middle schooler, the number of lives he had taken up to now was innumerable. Being nurtured as the grand Lin Family heir, he was involved in a lot of the family's plans, which included the business of Beijing's scary underworld.

But, unfortunately for Keith, this trick would have worked against anyone other than Tylem.

"Clut."

When Keith heard the loud contact, he was about to laugh until he realized something wasn't right.

"What..." Keith's face paled as he dropped to the floor, holding onto his foot.

"You're too slow." Tylem scoffed. "Were you thinking that I couldn't see your kick coming?"

"I chose to take it." Smiling, Tylem bent down until his face was right in front of Keith.

Keith's sneaky kick was child's play to him. Bracing his body, Tylem had tensed the area of impact.

Tylem was interested in how much damage he could take. So far, no one had been able to even touch him. When he thought about testing his limits, he, for some reason, started smiling. The endless room for growth had excited him, his young heart.

It would give him the freedom to live how he wanted. Nothing would ever be able to take away his place in the world again.

When he had just begun opening up to the world again, the heart cancer had taken his first life.

"How..." Keith was furious, but he was also incredibly curious. There was no chance a normal youth could take one of his kicks and remain standing. It also felt like he was banging against solid metal.

"I despise people like you." Tylem grabbed the lean black-haired boy's shoulder. [I can finally live the happy life I've dreamed of for years. I will never let trash like you, who abuse their status, to take it away from me.]

"Is this what you tried to do before?" Tylem was grinning.

Deep down, cultivators were creatures who had an inborn love for battle.

Tylem, an orphan who grew up without a single true parental figure, was constantly changing.

In Tylem's clothing, the ball of light gleefully jumped up at the feeling of this magnificent aura. If it had a face, it would definitely be smiling right now. [It was about time.]

Ever since the boy's reincarnation, the ball of light's own cultivator aura had been unknowingly spreading into Tylem, its host. The two were always next to each other, after all. It was about time that there was some change.

To Keith, this small grin was unbelievably frightening.

"Crush." It was like a sudden high-voltage shock had fried his body.

Tylem had never been given a moral compass to weigh his actions on. If he felt that something was right, he would do it.

"It hurts, doesn't it?" Tylem had the lean black-haired boy on his knees.

"You were so arrogant before, so please do keep up that resistance of yours." Tylem laughed. "I want to see how long it can last."

It was odd how the world worked, and at that moment, Ava and Lynne had both appeared in the corridor.

Bound by fate, the first thing the girls saw was each other.

Standing on opposite ends, the two girls had very different reasons for their search. Ava was looking for Keith, while Lynne was searching for Tylem, her big brother. But when the girls spotted each other, both of them had instinctively hidden behind a wall.

However, Ava remembered Keith's ultimatum, and she soon walked out into the open with a cruel appearance.

[I must be strong.] Lynne, in these few seconds, had also gathered her courage as she firmly stood facing Ava's cold gaze head-on. [I promised that I would change.]

This unwavering face of her best friend surprised Ava a lot.

"What's going on here?" Ava and Lynne had been so focused on each other that it had taken them both quite some time to notice Tylem and Keith in the center of it all.

"Keith is on his knees?" Ava was in utter disbelief. In her mind, the Lin Family's young master was an unbeatable monster. "And... isn't this person the rising transfer student from that basketball bet, Tylem?"

[This boy is Keith, the leader of Onel?] Of course, Tylem had noticed the two girl's sudden entrance, and he had overheard Ava's low voice.

Naturally, he had done some research on his opponents. However, unlike Ava, he had never seen Keith Lin in person before. Taking a closer look at his extraordinary features, it indeed did match the description.

To first resolve Lynne's bullying matter, Tylem had plotted to destroy Ava's entire life, starting from her precious reputation. Back in Ivla, there were many schemes awaiting her arrival tomorrow, and Onel would come right after.

He would take them all out one by one in the dark. The society had played a massive part in the bullying of his little sister, after all.

"But maybe... I'll just get rid of them both now." Tylem grinned, the ball of light sitting on his shoulder.

Even if he didn't kill them, he could still cripple them for their crimes, right? That way, the two would be unable to ever open their dirty mouths again.
