Late Night at the Arcade, Is My Luck Really Dog Shit?

Set followed Lucy to the test room. Of course, she didn't want him to walk side by side as it would make it seem as if they were equals. So she insisted on walking in front. Set couldn't care less about it, he was too busy thinking about his dream. 'I suppose I'm just going to have to forget about it for now...'. After a while of walking, Set was led to a room where they will be conducting the test.

"Sit down, I'm going to get the test sheets," said Lucy, smiling, but Set knew that smile. The smile was just a mask she put on. The smile meant Lucy had a hidden card up her sleeves. 'So she's planning to cheat huu ... well, no matter if it means she's going to leave me alone, I guess I'll just have to lose. Or... undeniably win'.

After a while, Lucy came back with two test sheets. She still had a smile on her face, but this time there was a faint disdain secretly hidden away behind that curtain of a smile.

"Here you go. The rules are that we only have 30 minutes to complete the questions. If you take anymore you lose, cheating is not allowed. If you do, you lose. The one with the most correct answers wins, and finally, the loser has to satisfy his end of the deal".

'You idiot, as if I'm going to make it easy for you. See, I already know the answers to all 100 of them. I can't wait any longer if I win I'll make sure your life is hell, and if you fail to call me smarter in front of the whole school, that's even better for me. Having others losing their faith in you would kill you!!!"

Even though Lucy was an arrogant and prideful girl, She would have never cheated. But because Set had pissed all over her pride and embarrassed her, she decided to make an exception.

As Set was doing the questions, he secretly kept a close watch on Lucy. Seeing that she was going through the questions easily, he realized what she had done. 'She actually did all this just to regain her lost pride. If she wasn't such a bitch, then I would have admired her. At the very least, couldn't she have tried to act a little more realistic?'

As he looked at Lucy, he saw her "deliberate" the issue. Her expression was confused as if she could not decide which answer to pick. Set was stunned. He had no beef with her, and now she was seeking to humiliate him. This was a no-no in Set's book. Before, he didn't really care, but now his desire has peaked. He became serious. He glanced at his test sheet and proceeded to answer the questions as if he was a mad man. Lucy looked at the Set, and she was flabbergasted! 'He's already on the 80th question! Is he even human?

Lucy was stupefied because she was at the 42nd question, and even worse, she knew all the answers, and yet she was left behind in the dust. 'It's been 15 minutes now?! Then I'm going to have to answer all of them quickly before he does". At that moment, she heard the one thing she thought she would never hear, "I'm done".

Set was finished. He finished 100 questions in less than 20 minutes.

"You... you cheated!" said Lucy, as she couldn't accept what had transpired. Set was the only person she despised to her very core, and now he had beaten her. He had undeniably beaten her. "Listen, I don't have any problems with you, just fulfill your end of the deal, and we're cool." said Set with slight pity in his voice. He didn't mean to completely destroy her pride, or whatever, it was just that he was lazy, and if he had the choice to do things differently, he would have done it all over again, not for her ... But for him. I mean, if you think he's going to miss out on not doing schoolwork for the rest of the year, then you is BAT SHIT CRAZY!

Lucy was on the verge of having a mental breakdown. Not accepting this, she immediately snatched Set's paper and looked at the answer.

'CORRECT! All of his answers are correct!'

Lucy was totally shaken, her head was facing down, and her skin was pale as if all life had been sucked out of her. She made bets with him, for ... God knows how long, but this was the first time she completely gave up on making any other bets. Because the Set in her eyes now, was different. She couldn't figure out what had changed, but now she had no hate or bad blood. There was only one emotion. A feeling that she didn't comprehend. But suddenly, in her mind, a memory flashed. In her memory, she asked her father how to be happy. "My beautiful daughter. Eventually, you'll meet a guy you will have feelings for, and when that day arrives, you'll be genuinely happy. At least that's how I felt when I'm with your mother".

As the memory flashed in her head, Lucy slowly lifted her head to look at the Set. And immediately blushed with a deep shade of red. Set seeing this was totally taken aback, whenever he saw her there would be an expression of scorn or disgust, but now it was as if her attitude had taken a 180 turn. Set quickly calmed himself down and walked out of the room. After which he jolted out of school. In the school, Lucy looked at the test paper, and her father's words were still in her head. After running a good distance away from school, Set panted and sat down on the ground to catch his breath.

"Why was she acting so strange?" As Set thought, he heard the police sirens in the distance. "Wonder what happened," he said. But before he could dive back into thinking about that weird, mad Lucy, he caught an arcade at the corner of his eye. And, of course, the one thing he wasn't going to be lazy for was games. "I'm just going to rest and play games at the arcade for a while". After entering the arcade, he sat down and began to play different games. After playing for a long time, Set got up to get some refreshments. As he walked to the vending machine, he heard the news on the TV.

"Earlier today, the villain known as Rage had a clash with the police. Even though, through their best efforts the police had managed to injure him, a little while later, Rage escaped. He was dressed in a white hoodie and blue jeans. He has a destructive type innate ability known as Hell flames. His whereabouts are currently unknown ... "Set looked at the scene with curiosity. But as the reporters moved on, Set after getting his snacks was just about to continue playing games, when he noticed that it was dark outside. He went to the window to confirm and It was nighttime, just a little before midnight!

"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT!".

"What the hell! it's already this late. How did I not notice!" Set rushed out of the arcade and ran... and ran... and ran."I guess I'll have to take a shortcut". Then as Set was running into a dark alleyway, he saw it.

He saw the villain dubbed, Rage pushing a manhole cover, open on the ground. Rage saw him, as he saw Rage. Rage had short black hair that matched his black eyes. He wore a white hoodie that was stained with blood and had his sleeves burned off, and blue jeans that had burnt marks.

'Rage! Is my luck really dog shit? As Set was about to walk away as if he didn't see anything, Rage said, "Hey you stop," with a red hellish fire flickering in his palm.

Set was petrified. He stopped instantly. "Hey man, long time no see. What's up?" said Set, acting like he knew Rage. "Do I know you?" Rage asked with a cold voice. "What? No man, I was talking to him" said Set as he pointed behind Rage. Hearing the high schooler, Rage instantly turned around, but to his dismay, no one was there.

Realizing he had been tricked, he turned to face Set with murder in his eyes. Only to find out that Set had bolted!
