A talk on the Rooftop

What felt like hours already, i can see the high rise buildings already of Aregalia from the window. Seeing the bright sunny sky now instead of the snowfall, i felt happier, i am home once again.

"Were back to Aregalia already?" Mary asked, with shock in her voice.

"Yup, we are." Thalia responded.

"This ship is alot faster than the one we took before."

Seems it's afternoon right now, the sun shines brightly onto Aregalia as well as the inside of our ship.

A few minutes passed, and the ship came to a stop, descending downwards. Until the sound of a metal thump as the ship landed. Were back at Parabellum now.

The doors open as people outside were waiting for our arrival. The strategist with his team stepped out first, handing their things to the people outside.

After they all exited, we step outside, Mary stretched the second she stepped out.

Among the people waiting outside, the doctor was one of them, standing a few meters away. Smoking a cigarette while in a white coat.

"Sebastian." He called. Sebastian walked towards the doctor, appearing to start talking to one another.

"Damon, you wanna go to the cafeteria with the rest of us? Maybe there's hot coco." Thalia asked me, gripping my shoulder while she spoke.

"Damon." After Thalia asked, the doctor called my name with Sebastian walking back to the group.

"Well, you can meet us at the cafeteria once your talk with him is done." Thalia said, along with the whole group. They went to the elevator, disappearing from sight once the doors close.

I walked towards the doctor, still holding a cigarette in his hand.

"So, had any visions during your flight?" The doctor asked.

"Yeah, team in a swamp area, Lisa, Maverick, and Ethan. Those are the names i could remember."

"Hmmm, I'll see if that one's true..." A short awkward silence followed.

"I was told that you looked saddened or distraught at something during a mission, a picture was it? How are you feeling right now?" The doctor asked me, did Sebastian tell him that? Did Alina tell Sebastian about that?

"Well, picture was of a woman with "my love" written on it, i felt saddened as the person i killed had someone to return to, or had someone to love. Then, the attack, their faces...They all looked young, like they were convinced to join to try and kill us, it felt different than the other missions i went through, i felt something different from it." Sadness overwhelmed my emotions while i explained to the doctor.

"Oh...I understand. They were young men and women who could have become citizens or soldiers fighting on our side, that's what you're thinking of am i correct?" I nodded at him.

"I understand completely on what you think, many recruits had to face that as well." Many?

"Many recruits had to deal with this, seeing the faces of the people they killed and thinking of it. From seeing their faces, a picture or thing they had on em, or even their last words." The doctor walked towards the railing, facing the high rise buildings.

"Look at the buildings with me here."

I leaned on the railing, facing the high rise buildings as the sun glows on them.

"It's normal to have to deal with it, unfortunately, that's what we have to do. But the mission you did brought bags worth of info, what you did today may have saved more people from becoming future insurgents. The intel you brought back could help us in finding the leaders of insurgent groups." The doctor explained.

"In the revolution that brought us the world we have today, it was disorganized with the main most popular revolutionary group doing most of the decisions after the revolt. The revolt bred so many split and separate insurgent groups who wish for a world shaped in their image, and from what i view, none of theirs is good. In fact, most missions we have had to deal with taking out these insurgent groups, but every time we crack down on one group, another 2 would just spawn. What you did today could save many more from dying, if the info or the hostage spills more information on groups. If it does, you would save countless teens or adults from joining these insurgent groups. If you can't handle it, you can meet me in the library anytime, or ask the strategist to help you go to the spy agency. For now though, it's best for you to unwind with your teammates, spend time with them and relax with them. You can go down now, meet them." The doctor concluded.

Finishing our conversation, i walked to the elevator, weapons still in hand i waited for the doors to open. I need to put this gear in my armory first.

The doors open and i leave the rooftop, the doctor still standing in the railing.

The elevator descended down in just a push of a button.

Soon i was back at the quarters, mercenaries walked around in normal Parabellum attire, not wearing their armor, they all look quite happy.

Strolling around, i arrived at my room. Immediately heading to the armory of my room.

Passed my room, i got to the armory, putting all my gear on the table first.

My gear looked almost clean, with the snow falling off or already melted.

A few minutes of organizing my used gear, it's time to head to the cafeteria, to unwind, like what the doctor said, and to relax with my teammates. If the intel does help, then we just helped so many people and quelled more insurgent groups.

I tried to stop thinking about it, focusing on heading to the cafeteria and have a chat with my friends. I wonder if they're giving hot coco right now.

Now in normal Parabellum uniform attire, i head outside, walking towards the cafeteria.

Seems the hallway has less people now than normal. More people out on missions now.

Arriving at the cafeteria, i walked to get what they were giving out. That mission got me hungry and thirsty.

Sure enough, they were giving out hot coco as well as a sandwich, looked to be a grilled one.

The staff handed me my tray, already containing the sandwich and hot coco.

"Damon! You're here!" Thalia's voice called out to me. Turning around, my team sat on an empty table a few steps away.
