A Quiet Vault

There were so much shelves, carrying large to small books with different genres to them. It would take me hundreds of lifetimes to read through all of em.

Passing the shelves, they were all full of books with different titles. The sign above read "History" Oh the history section. I could read a few pages and see if i could do other things. But what book do i choose? So many to choose from, where's the book Thalia gave me before?

While thinking, i feel a weight on my shoulder, someone's hand.

I turned around, Thalia stood behind me.

"Like the library as well?" Thalia asked curiously.

"Sort of." I replied.

"Well you are new here, i can help you get around more. So, what are you trying to find? History?" Thalia took out a book from the shelf next to her, a smaller history book.

"I haven't thought yet." Till now i still haven't thought of what book to read.

"We read history before, maybe we can read another one. I found this one." Thalia, returning the book she took from the shelf, pulled another one out, it's the same book i read before. "What about this? Do you want to continue reading it? We didn't finish our books before."

"Yeah, i can read this one again." Thalia handed the book to me, now in my hands.

"Come, i got my own already."

We headed back to the entrance area, books in our hands. They said the library carries books ranging from romance to unedited and even history books. Maybe even books that didn't reach public eyes.

Pulling a chair, i sat down with the book now on the table, turning on the lamp to face the book. Thalia sat next to me with her own book.

Tracing the page i turned to before, remembering the contents in that page.

Soon i got to it, the page of the war. What's on the next page? flipping it, "The western assault war." Was written in bold text. Below it read:

"During the war taking place in Shoravik or the eastern area. The western assault began, amphibious land assaults accompanied by nearby carriers flew in on Spalanria and Frosenkia, soon large scale urban combat occurred with Spalanria's mountainous terrain to the north acting as a wall against the assault units at Frosenkia, rendering the assault as 2 separate fights. For the duration of the war Spalanria soon fell with it's capital falling to Empire forces, in Frosenkia however, the assault units made shocking, staggering progress through Frosenkia inflicting thousands to millions of deaths via aerial strikes to land forces destroying nearby areas. Soon they rushed directly at the capital, Froren. Here, the continent shall witness a desperate and brutal last stand to defend the capital. With territories the empire took, they began using the areas to bring in more supply lines. With this in mind, nearby nations, unable to mobilize the needed defense forces in time. Sent in aerial support instead for the meantime, from close air support to dogfighting and supply drops to nearby holdouts. This last stand would continue on for months. The situation in Spalanria soon transitioned from organized armed forces fighting the empire to seperate fighting groups in different cities. This organize resistance gave the empire forces major headaches, holding long enough for the war in Frosenkia to soon be on Frosenkia's advantage. With larger aerial support as well as naval support, the empire was pushed back aggressively by enraged Frosenkians, soon, they retreated. But in their retreat, they set aflame all the buildings left in their territory killing surviving civilians. Once back to the coastal cities. They performed a large scale bombardment on the Frosenkians. With empire forces in Frosenkia on the run, nations, now with mobilized defense forces. Sent out units to Spalanria to focus on pushing back the empire forces holding most of the nation by this point. However. due to the horrible losses the empire took, Spalanrian forces took back their capital, but soon found out it fell to the same fate Frosenkian cities fell to, with buildings in ruin and corpses lining the streets. This scorched earth tactic was used in all empire held cities, rumored to also be used by the Spalanrian forces to push out empire forces. After retreating all the way back, forces in Spalanria as well as Frosenkia performed a retreat at the same time, being defended by any surviving naval forces. Killing thousands to millions of defending forces." The page ended here, on the next page was another page.

"The Western naval war" it further read: "Frosenkian and Spalanrian forces have set up naval blockades alongside the help of their long standing ally Borania with it's larger navy. Before the land invasion, this navy would spend weeks of countless assaults by the empire, ranging from air strikes on ships to ship to ship combat. The 3 nations fought hard, but the empire's tactics and numbers pushed them closer to the continent. Despite losing the war on the ocean, the 3 nations with what's left of their navy continued fighting in small naval force attacks on empire convoys with carriers also acting as nearby air bases for the aerial support over Spalanria and Frosenkia. This would cost more ships on both sides to sink, making the sea bordering these 3 nations bearing the nickname "The graveyard of 3 nation sailors" for how many lives died in this war." The page ended.

This page is as informative as ever but also feels dull, but informative nonetheless.

Thalia closed her book, laying her face down on the table instead.

"Sleeping here also feels nice, they won't tell you to leave since this place is like a 24/7 library, the relaxing quiet environment makes this place a whole lot better than the rooms." Thalia whispered to me.

The elevator opened a few times with people quietly entering the large library. A peaceful haven of sorts for people to leave the loud outside.
