Floor to Floor

A quick trip to the ammo room and back i stood on the field with my team and the others. All ready for another fight. The defending team finished their trip as well. Staying inside the parking building. Most likely planning.

"3 Minutes to plan." The announcer said.

"Alright, this time were attacking. Good job by the way on holding the 4th floor. " Justin congratulated. Ushering everyone over just like earlier.

"We have a whole lot of time to make our way up. If we can't reach the flag, we'll just have to slowly make our way up. My team will take lead, Scott your team is with me. We'll first run towards the first floor. From there, we'll both make our way up on the stairwell, the rest, head onto the ramp. Even if we could just go go back when we get hit, its better to not do what they did. Bait them by trying to draw their fire, see where the bullets come from. Make sure your body isn't visible from cover, when you peek out of cover make sure you show as little as possible or your head and your body. And make sure you make as little sound as possible. Let's go." Justin finished laying out his plan, we looked at the building, with a plan and full on ammo. I joined in with them. Staring, thinking, thinking of the plan and how to beat them, my mind continued thinking of the plan, from what i will do when it's executed to how fast it can be done.

As i stared, a jolt of sharp pain struck my eye, causing me to feel dazed. As i tried to refocus, the jolt of pain went back, this time i kept it close, putting my hand on it.

From the black of my closed eyes, light slowly formed out of it. Slowly growing, i didn't know what was being shown, but the image although blurred, i noticed it was moving around. Showing different colors like a camera panning to different things.

The pain stopped and the image in my eyes became more clear. It was the top of the parking building here, whoever i was looking through was facing the ramp with rifle in view. Am i looking through someone's eyes? I'm not sleeping or just closing my eyes in deep thought.

I felt a firm pat on my back, snapping out of the vision.

"Damon, you alright?" Thalia asked concerned.

"I'm alright." I shook my head, trying to refocus.

"It's okay if you don't want to continue if you're not feeling well."

"No, i'm alright." I replied. I moved back into position, preparing to run alongside the others and my team.

"If you say so." Thalia prepared as well, getting to position.

"BEGIN!" We started running towards the first floor. No signs of any mercenary heading down to the first floor were present.

Inside, it was empty, clean and empty with no sign of mercenaries.

"Remember the plan." Justin reminded. Now moving slowly, we crept up onto the ramp with the others. Justin and Scott's teams entered inside the stairwell. We moved up with my team being the last. While we tried our best to keep silent while moving up, my left eye closed suddenly. Through the darkness in it, an image formed up. This time the image of someone running, running, running towards the concrete railing next to the ramp up?

Almost immediately, my arms raised up, my rifle faced upwards. Suddenly, a figure looked down on us with a rifle aiming down. A pull of the trigger and the figure retreated back.

The teams looked behind me, quickly realizing what this meant, they know were here.

The teams, following what i did, aimed their weapons upwards before we reached the end of the ramp. As we positioned behind it, a mercenary started walking past us on the ramp with both hands up.

A gunshot rang out from the stairwell area above us, echoing. From the gunshot, another followed, continuing on until an entire gunfight ensued. The mercenary at the front of us peeked from cover, quickly pulling back.

"A few of em are behind the cars." Bullets flew near the end of the ramp, hitting the wall or the floor.

"Provide cover fire, mainly on the cars, my team will try to seek cover above. Once we do, we'll give cover for all of you until you reached cover." The mercenary at the front said.

Reaching our weapons above the concrete railing, we opened fire, some blind firing while others peeked their heads out to try and hit anyone while covering fire. Keeping up our supression, the team in front of us ran out. Running and hiding behind pillars and cars above.

Exhausting our ammo, we ducked down while approaching the end of the ramp. Above, the team began their own suppressive fire, continuing on with no stop.

While the mercenary team in front of us ran, we joined in with them. As i ran up, i desperately looked around for cover. In front, a vacant pillar, i ran to it, slamming my back while looking down if any part of my body was visible.

The team that covered us hid, now with all of us behind cover, we continued with our shooting, when one team stopped shooting, another reinforced, keeping up the supression. With this though, mercenaries from our side began falling, running down the ramp while a few from the defending side stepped down. I peeked out with my rifle, showing as little of my head as possible, practically using one eye to see and aim. I fired back, now seeing where the enemy mercs were hiding in. Shooting at the pillars and cars i looked for any part of their body that's exposed.

I hit some of the mercs, raising their hands, now out of the fight.

As more kept walking down, the gunfire slowly died down.

The last of the mercenaries went down, bullet casings scattered around and magazine piles around places of cover.
