Meisya's Confusion

"How do you feel?"

Meisya was stunned and did not dare to move when Hunter touched her forehead and brushed some of her hair behind her earlobe.

She remembered for a moment that she felt terrified the moment Peskhov touched her. Meisya thought she would feel the same terror when Hunter walked up to her and touched her. Surprisingly, she didn't feel scared nor disgust.

Her heart was beating fast, but not out of fear. Somehow the touch on her forehead made her comfortable and peaceful in her heart.

"Yesterday, sir Peskhov took me away, then... I don't remember what happened."

Hunter pulled his hand back then sat down with one foot on the bed while the other on the floor so he could face Meisya, who was still comfortable lying on the bed.

"You don't need to remember it. The important thing is, nothing happened to you. You're safe now."

"What... did you save me? Why? Is it because of your job? Because of the mission?"
