The King Summons Thee

With the two Queens already having their argument, despite wanting to add more fuel to the fire she reached in between them towards the table, "Ah, it's unfortunate we don't have a crossbow right now but based on your lessons then the best weapon for me to choose is—"

"His Prime Minister, Blyke Edelweiss has arrived." A servant announced from the entrance towards the soldier's barracks.

Her gaze flickered to the servant that just interrupted her from talking and found herself biting her tongue down from saying 'Off with his head'... she instead took note of the man and narrowed her eyes for a moment as she drew back. "Ah, Prime Minister Edelweiss, what brings you here? Surely you're not here to watch me pick up a weapon and spar with the other Queens are you?"

The man jumped back for a moment.

It would have been a pleasant sight if they had staggered back more and gotten a heart attack, but that was only a passing thought. The man before her was the one who managed and took care of the King with their duties, who else would do it if they were gone? Certainly not her.

Blyke Edelweiss managed to give a bow to all of the Queens, he couldn't even dare meet any of their eyes."My greetings to the Queens of Suits, I hope that you could pardon my intrusion but the King of Hearts summons you, Your Majesty."

Rosalyn Lockhart blinked for a moment.

What?

She pressed her lips together and found herself thinking deeply on how things were truly starting to change between the previous time and this one before her. Brushing a stray strand of hair back into her ear, she looked at the man and feigned back a smile, "Is that so?" What did the King want to do with her?

The man blinked for a moment, perhaps startled with her reply but nodded and then addressed the other Queens, "If the Queens would like to wish to join us to the Royal Conference Hall then—"

"Of course we'd want to go there," Jeanne la Monique was quick to answer, "If she's going there, why wouldn't we go?" The woman crossed her arms over her chest, almost stabbing someone in the eye with her rapier. "Let us leave at once."

Rosalyn Lockhart tried not to shake her head, it really wasn't surprising. Although the Queen of Diamonds perhaps wasn't exactly eager to attend a meeting and sit down, if the Queen of Hearts was summoned: She wouldn't want to miss anything. But how about what she wanted? Would she really follow the whims of the King?

But at the same time, there must be a reason why she had been called for.

And despite her feelings towards the man, the King and Queen were known to be a happy couple and it wouldn't do her any good if the other Royals would take note of the dissent and disharmony that actually occurred between them. Sighing inwardly she gave a curt nod, "Then lead the wa—" She paused for a moment as she met the eye of Nicholas Hatter. There was no way that she could bring the man to the meeting place and more so she didn't want any kind of questioning to occur, it would be troublesome.

She glanced at Blyke Edelweiss who still seemed to be holding himself back from having a nervous breakdown in front of her.

Well she couldn't say she disliked having someone visibly be threatened by her presence. So with his attention distracted then she could surely lead him away without drawing attention, "Let us go then if nobody else will accompany us?" Her gaze flitted towards the Queen of Clover and then Spades, would they just stay here?

The Queen of Spades pursed her lips together, picking up a dagger and throwing it into the air. She managed to sniff and catch the blade in between her fingers, "I think I'd much prefer to stay here and see how your guards fare against someone like me."

Rosalyn Lockhart raised a brow but nodded and turned to the last Queen who had yet to give a reply. Unlike their complacent expression for most of the time, there was a visible hesitation that crumpled the Queen of Clover's face before she shook her head, "No thank you, please send my regards though."

Her? Send regards?

What was she? Who did they think she was?

The man near her, Prime Minister Blyke Edelweiss gave a bow, "Your wish shall be granted, Your Majesty. Now is Her Majesty prepared?" He asked before he paused shortly for a moment before bowing even lower to her, at least he knew that with that kind of questioning would vex her. "If the Queen of Hearts and Diamond would wish to go now?"

"Very well, let us leave." Rosalyn Lockhart gave a curt nod, glancing at Jeanne la Monique and gave them a smile, "Surely you won't take that rapier along with you?"

"Ah, would the Queen of Hearts be burdened if I were to take a single blade?" The Queen of Diamonds had the nerve to act disappointed. Her lips formed into a pout that didn't suit a woman of their age, did she really think that acting cross would let her get her way? The Queen continued, "The Kingdom of Hearts is quite plentiful isn't it?"

But of course they'd use something like that to get her hands on what she coveted.

Rosalyn Lockhart shrugged and stepped towards the Castle of Hearts, "I'd be sorry if the Queen of Diamonds wouldn't be able to appreciate the fine craftsmanship of the Kingdom, take it as an example and a souvenir. Surely the House Monique would be able to learn something from it, wouldn't they?"

Knowing well enough how much of an insult that was—she bit back the urge to chuckle as she continued her way down the castle's corridors. She didn't even need to wait for the Prime Minister or Queen of Diamonds to follow after her, her mood dampening as she realized that she was following a King's orders. She'd make sure to finish quickly with whatever the King of Hearts wanted.

And then she would get back to her own affairs.
