Challenged

The smell of coffee fills the house as Seunwo brew himself a cup of coffee. He leaned to the counter as he waits and looked up when Kai stepped into the kitchen.

The male had just got home from jogging around the neighborhood as he was in a white tank top and shorts paired with a pair of nike running shoes.

"Coffee?"

"No thanks." Kai showed him the mineral bottle he had just taken from the fridge and went to the living room.

"You like her do you?" Seunwo asked suddenly making Kai stopped at his track.

"Huh?"

"Leira."

They both stared at each other as their faces void of any emotion until Kai nodded.

"Yeah. I'm surprise you even noticed." He said boldly.

"When I said good luck on finding a wife, I didn't ask you to make her your wife."

Seunwo's tone was calm but Kai wasn't having it.

"You sure are calm about this huh? I could steal her away from you." He challenged. Seunwo clenched his jaw.

"If you are able to sway Leira's heart, then be my guest."

"People's heart can be changed."

"Suit yourself."

Leira had finished washing up when she went downstairs. Kai texted her that he bought food for breakfast and she can't exactly let the opportunity to eat went by just like that.

She bit back her smile when she saw Seunwo in the living room, reading a book. He was in his usual white loose shirt and loose black sweatpants.

"Hey." She greeted him and he just hummed in response. Not thinking about it that much, she went to get the food that Kai had told her.

"Where are you going with Kai today?" He asked and Leira felt a gush of cold wind hit her.

"We're not planning to go anywhere."

"That's rare. Don't you both always have somewhere to go?"

"No I'm going-"

"You don't have to tell me." The male said coldly but his tone are still calm.

"Are you mad at me?" She frowned.

"No."

"Did I do something wrong? If this is about what Elai-"

"Its not."

He closed his book and went to leave Leira in the living room but she stopped him.

"Seunwo, I won't know if you don't tell me." She said.

"There's nothing to tell. I got to go to work." Seunwo went up the stairs leaving her lost for words.

She winced as she put her hand on her heart.

"But your shift starts at night today.."

::

"You're quiet today."

"I am a quiet person."

"Not at time like this, you always babbling about this mountain, that jungle, artifacts and what not since you're going back to Indonesia to finish your report." Kai pinched her cheek.

Leira swatted his hand away.

They were waiting for the boarding call to Indonesia and Kai had decided to sit through that with her and send her off.

"I'm just on my period."

"You can't really lie to me, woman."

Leira sighed and shook her head. She looked at her boarding pass briefly.

"I'm getting old."

Kai let out a hearty chuckle as she said that making her make a flat face at him.

"It's normal to have ups and down in life, babe. You just gotta live through it." Kai brought his hand to pat her head.

"You're amazing, Kai." She said softly. Kai raised his eyebrow at the sudden compliment.

"Why?"

"Even though its your father who wanted you to become a doctor, you dedicated yourself in making his dream come true and be good at it too."

"Well~"

"I'm sure you will able to get what you want when you put your heart and mind to it." Leira finally looked up to him and smiled.

She turned back in front to the monitor and stood up to see the schedule more clearly. Kai cleared his throat as he brought his hands to his face. He took a peek at her, somehow today Leira looked sad.

Maybe something happened to them.

"Shit, I want to hug her." Kai said inwardly. He reached out his hand to her but quickly dropped it when she turned to him while pointing at the time. Passengers had been called to board the plane.

"Thanks for sending me off, bro." She said chuckling and gave him a fist bump. Kai smiled and nodded.

"Your welcome bro. See you next week?"

"Yeah."

Leira plopped herself on the bed with a heavy sigh. Chae looked at her warily.

"You look dead, sis."

"Is she dead? Should I call the ambulance?" Dohyon joked. He dodged when he saw a flying pillow coming at him.

They were hanging around in their hotel room after picking up Leira from the airport. It was already night time when she finally awake from her long nap.

"What's up with you women and your pillows?"

"Its your pillow, prick." Leira rolled her eyes standing up to take her laptop and went back to lay on Hwiyun's  lap.

"I'm tired."

"Whoa, tired? I thought you went back so that you could clear your mind before you can finish this report." Hwiyun said as he cocked up his eyebrow at her.

"I spent a day finishing the some paper work at the campus and another two days dragged around by Kai and Taejin." She shrugged.

"Taejin? Lee Taejin? My brother is back? That son of bitc- no, my mother is nice but he didn't even tell me!" Chae scoffed. Leira snorted at that and went on her laptop.

"Well we left on the day he came back so it's not exactly acceptable to him and he said you weren't being a good sister."

"Hwiyum finished his report while you were there by the way." Dohyon smirked.

"Good for you."

"Something's wrong with Lei. She's less competitive." Chae whispered loud enough for them to hear.

"Did something happen between you and Seunwo while you're in Seoul?" Hwiyum asked worriedly Leira just shook her head.

"I don't want to talk about it."

"Lei-"

"Chae, leave it." Dohyon cut her off and sat on the bed. Leira who was busying herself with her report.

Chae sighed and kissed Leira's head.

"Don't bottle it up okay?" She said and left the room.

"I'm not bottling it up."

Hwiyun slap her forehead lightly making her winced.

"What what?"

"Stop making us worry." He said seriously.

"I am not."

"Kim Leira." Dohyon said making her look up to him evenly.

"Talk to him. You just need to talk to him."

"Why do I have to-"

"Lack of communication, Leira. Lack of fu-"

"Don't swear dude." Hwiyun cut him off. He just shushed him.

"Lack of" Dohyon clapped his hand and continued.

"Communication!"
