A Friend That Cant Be Replace.

"He said that?"

Leira nodded as peels the onion.

"Maybe he doesn't mean it, Lei." Hwiyun rubbed her back lightly.

"I bumped into him twice. Twice! I knew I would regret it being back here. Its way too early. I'm still heartbroken damn it." She sliced the onion with annoyance. Hwiyun swiftly took the knife from her and continue the job.

"Then, why are you here?"

"You know why."

"No I don't."

Leira jabbed his side making him chuckle. He transfer the onions he sliced to a plate along with the meat that they were going to grill.

"You wouldn't give a damn if someone talk shit about you so why are you here, Leilei? Gotten soft are we?"

"What? My mother is out there trying to ruin my life-"

"She cant if you just cut ties with her."

"She's disturbing Wushin-"

"Wushin can handle himself just fine. He's a grown man." Hwiyun cut her again making her scrunched her nose.

"Then why do you think I'm here?" Leira folded her arms, annoyed.

"Me."

He laughed when she jokingly tried to shove on slice of onion his mouth. He held her hands back almost like they were perfoming somekind of a dance. They bickered as per usual not noticing the pair of eyes that full of jealousy, watching them.

"Chae."

"I'm having the time of my life, dodo." Chae grinned recording Hwiyun's girlfriend reaction. Dohyon could only sighed in amusement.

"As long as you're having fun."

"Hwi always finds a way to cheer her up. Look at her laughing." She said sighing in content adding to the fuel.

"Who is she anyways?" Sena asked with an annoyed tone.

"His best friend, duh."

"Right..another one of you. I didn't know Hwiyun would be friends with girls like you."

Chae just smirked at her rude remark. If Dohyon isn't there keeping her seated, Sena's messy bun would get even messier.

"Ah! I think I remembered her. She's that illegitimate daughter that once had an affair while being engaged right? Is she targeting Hwiyun to be her next fling?"

"Watch your mouth, Sena." Chae said darkly.

"What? Am i wrong? She's probably the type that sleeps around too right? They say an illegitimate daughter would be the same as her mother. A whore that sleeps with men for money."

Sena flinched when Dohyon had smashed his coke on the floor.

"What's going on?" Hwiyun asked coming towards them with Leira bringing a bowl of marshmallows.

"He probably wanted to test his hand strength. Dohyon, chill." Leira said chuckling and took a seat on the bean bag that was right next to the girlfriend.

That was when she realised the tense situation. The look two of her friends was telling her a lot.

"Alright guys what-" Leira darted her eyes to the girl beside her who was frowning. Hwiyun scratched his nape, confused.

"Can somebody cut the crap and say something?" She said pulling her leg up, sitting cross legged on the bean bag.

"Hwiyun, do you really like this bitch?" Chae asked, starting off. He frowned at her remark about his girlfriend.

"Bitch? Why are you being rude?"

"I'm not. It's the truth."

"Chae, stop this. Why do you always hating my girlfriends? Youre not my mother. It's getting annoying." Hwiyun sighed.

Leira could see how Chae was deeply hurt by the words.She was about to say something when Dohyon shook his head at her making her even more restless.

Chae clenched her teeth when Sena subtly smirked at her but immediately frown when Hwiyun comforted her.

"I'm going to ask you again, do you really like her?"

"Yeah. Why? Chae-"

"Aight, sure. Now get her the fuck out of here and you too. Don't set your foot near Leira, ever." Chae said monotonously. Hwiyun frowned even deeper.

"Uh, Chae-" Leira said but was cut off.

"No, Leira. I'll make it up to you for ruining this dinner. I'm heading home too. Mother is tired being a mean mother." Chae said standing up, fixing her skirt that was hiked up for seating.

"Look, Chae. Don't be like this-" Hwiyun closed his mouth when Chae didn't even spare a glance at him.

She took her bag and head to her car before turning to face Sena dead in the eyes.

"There's a line you can't cross as his girlfriend. And you just went passed that line. Good luck with that, bitch." Chae spat and drove away.

"What's up with her? She had never been this way-"

"Exactly and yet you say such words to her. She's never the type to be rude without a reason. You know that very well. I would tell you the reason but seeing you handle the situation makes me want to leave it. You figure it out yourself." Dohyon spoke out, leaning bag to his bean bag, tiredly.

"I don't like this. You better patch it up with Chae later, Hwi. What you said was really mean. When did she ever meddle with your relationships before?" Leira sighed.

"She called Sena a bitch, Lei."

"I'm sure there must be a reason."

"Did you say something to her?" Hwiyun asked his girlfriend who was in the brink of tears.

"Wait, let me get a tissue-"

Dohyon pulled her wrist back from walking to the kitchen, stopping her tracks. She looked at him questioningly.

"Don't be nice, Leira. Some people would took that for granted. Even if she cries blood, just sit and watch."

"Dohyon, dude. Come on, man." Hwiyun shook head, giving his crying girlfriend a tissue himself."

"Uhm, Hwi..I think you should just go." Leira said patting Dohyon's hand as he never let it go from her wrist.

"What now you too?"

"Hwi, you know that isn't it. Read the room. Everyone is clearly upset. Sena looks like she doesn't want to be here too." She said rubbing her temple. Hwiyun nodded slowly.

"Sena, let's go. I'll get us dinner."

Seeing the audi r8 sped off from her property, Leira turned to Dohyon that looked like he was still deeply offended.

"Just what happen, Dodo?"

"I don't want to talk about it. Just make sure you never talk to her or even be in the same room." Dohyon said stretching up. He patted her head and picks up all the uncooked food to put it away.

"We'll have this bbq party another night, Lei. Let's order something and watch a movie at my house. I'll try to get Chae but knowing her..."

"She would shut us out until she wanted to reach us. Right. Ugh, this is frustrating. Just what did Sena said to her?" Leira puffed her cheeks.

Dohyon just shook his head, refusing to talk about it.

"Come on now, help me clean up. I'm getting hungry."

"We could just eat here, you know. It's right in front of our eyes."

"Nah. Let's eat here next weekend."

"Fine."

Leira sighed as she puts out the fireplace. Seeing her friends fought each other bothers her a lot and she can't help but to feel uneasy.

"Kai." Seunwo hummed as he took a seat at the restaurant.

"Neat today. Back to corporate?" He asked before ordering his usual to the waiter.

"Yeah, well. I had to go back and forth after all. My initial plan was to handle the branch here when I came back but my dad insisted that I work at the hospital first." Kai shrugged, sipping on his hot coffee.

"How's the company doing? I heard you rejected another partnership."

"So you do check the tabloids huh."

"I had to. Just in case." Seunwo said in short. Kai made a playful face at him to which he just waved him off.

"Oh right, I almost forgot."

"What now?"

"I'm meeting Leira tomorrow." Kai said smirking.

"That's nice."

"Wow, did you finally moved on? I can date her now?" The latter said in disbelief. Seunwo shook his head, chuckling bitterly.

"Can I ever moved on for her? but that doesn't matter anymore. She's engaged."

"Huh what? With who?" Kai felt his heart dropped.

"I bumped into her yesterday...her fiance introduced himself. I recognise him. His company had partnered up with SNU Hospital before."

"Wait, is he Daniel Kim? KBS?" Kai asked cocking up his eyebrow. Seunwo simply nodded.

He thanked the waiter as his food was served on the table. Checking his watch, he had another 30 minutes before heading back to the hospital.

Kai on the other hand was holding back his laugh and an amused smile plastered on his face.

"You are really stupid for a surgeon."

"Gee." Seunwo chuckled, cutting his steak.

"Daniel clearly played you. If they are engaged, the tabloid would blow up by now with Leira's current situation."

"And why would he do that, Kai? We're not acquaintance."

"He's one of her close friends back in USA. Even I know that. The reason? You dumped her, that's why." Kai said flatly.

"What was your reaction anyways?"

"I....congratulated her." Seunwo said and realising it himself. Kai just sighed exasperatedly.

"Yeah, I am stupid for a surgeon."
