30. Safe In His Arms

Ash's POV

I awoke from my dream feeling more determined to find him than ever. That maybe, just maybe, I could feel him for real and hear his voice. I looked up to see a small, abandoned looking concrete building on the horizon and smiled before sprinting towards it. I've been looking for days and this was the first sign that it might be all over soon. I walked over to the ajar door and shoved it open a little bit more. The first thing I smelt was fresh blood, with an underlying scent of woodlands. Alex. I began to get frantic. What if it was his blood I could smell? I swear, if it was I'd tear my father apart limb by limb. I noticed a door open where the scent was strongest and stepped up to it. I placed my feet on the first... second... third step before I heard loud crying and someone trying to soothe another. I stepped down onto the last step and looked out. One of the teenage boys was hugging the other super tightly. There was a dead body on the other side of the room, but I ignored it, opting to listen to the boys' conversation.

"Shhh... I won't let him hurt you. I just found you, and I'm not allowing them to take you away so soon, brother." I swear I recognized his voice, but it was so nasal that I couldn't figure out where from. It made sense now why they had hugged so deeply; it was because they were related by blood. The first boy whimpered loudly, still staring directly at me, so I decided to step up closer to the light so that hopefully he would recognize that it was me and not whoever he was trained to be frightened of.

Alex's POV

Ally whimpered slightly, and that was the last straw. No one could mess with my family and get away unharmed. I whipped around and quickly used all of my remaining strength to attack the person that would soon attack us. I was about to bite him when I recognized the scent coming off of his pale skin and backed off slightly. Why would he be here? Unless his father convinced him to join the other side... I hoped he wasn't that stupid.

"Why are you here?"

"I'm rescuing you."

"Oh, I was concerned for a moment there. I thought you joined him and I was admittedly scared, Ashton."

He looked a little bit nervous. "You actually thought I would do that? What do you take me as, a traitor?"

"I don't know who I can trust anymore... I was always raised to be vigilant and to never trust too easily. I was trusting you, but after this experience I don't know who's with me and who's against me. I thought your father was actually apologetic, but he demolished my trust."

"I guess I get it then... but we have to get out of this horrible place before they come back." He grabbed my arm and tried to drag me before I halted him. I ran over, grabbed the now sleeping Allystar, and sprinted back. We ran up the stairs and out of the oppressive building as quickly as possible. Ash didn't stop when we were out and proceeded to grip my arm so we wouldn't lose each other. We went all the way to Alabama before stopping. I set my brother on the ground before turning and gripping Ash's shoulders tightly. I pushed my lips roughly into his while the leaves fell around us. The birds sang a soft hymn of happiness at the two creatures so in love below them. My fingers involuntarily wrapped themselves into his slightly damp hair while I debated pushing deeper into the kiss. Just as I was about to, I heard a soft groan from my brother and went to look at what was wrong with him.

He had sat up and was looking around totally frightened. "A-Alex?" he wailed loudly. I stepped into his field of vision and he swiftly jumped up into my lap. His arms wrapped around my shoulders, and he breathed excitedly, "We made it. We're finally free!"

His smile lit up my world, and I wrapped my arm around him. "That we did, bro. Welcome to the outside world."

He began to tear up suddenly, and I looked behind me to see Ashton had stepped into his field of vision. "Allystar, this is my soulmate, Ash," I introduced, hoping it would make him less frightened. It did, and I felt him physically relax in my grip.

"I-it's lovely to meet y-you. I've heard a lot about you," he stated friendly. I slowly stepped away to let them have their alone time.

-+-+-2 hours later-+-+-

I had heard Ally laugh more than I had ever had before in the last two hours and it made me glad to know that they got along. Now, my darling brother had gone to bed so that it was just my soulmate and me. I heard footsteps on the slick leaves and looked back over my head just in time to see his eyes glaze over with lust before he spun me around and pressed his lips roughly to mine.

I eagerly kissed back with hunger while standing so that I could get closer to him. The black mess on his head tickled my nose, but I was too exhausted and exhilarated to care. The night was as it should be in fall; it was not overly hot or cold. His arms linked tightly around my waist, and I felt my little friend get overly excited. I lifted a hand to the back of his head and tugged his hair slightly, hearing his soft moan cut through the crystal air.

His hand slipped underneath my shirt with expert agility and he skimmed his cold finger tips over my abdomen. They left behind them a trail of goosebumps while I fought to muffle a moan. He removed my shirt at a painfully slow rate, and I felt my needs begin to overpower my ability to wait.

He broke away from the kiss, and I thought I would receive a break before he switched to kissing down my neck. At some point his fangs must have come out in the lust because I felt them skim my warm skin. He found my mark and began to pay it some attention while my knees began to go weak. I moaned excessively loud and tilted my head to gift him better access.

I was in a world of bliss that just improved when he hooked his teeth in to darken the mark and refresh his scent on me. It was a sign of how possessive he still was, and I felt my heart warm. I loved that about him, I loved everything about him. Where we took it next shan't be spoken of, but I'll probably be sore in the morning.
