Island in the Storm

A powerful gust tried to hurl Liu Kai from the top of the head of the giant fishing spider. He docked and clung on to its velvety head, offering him warmth despite the icy breeze.

He thought this couldn't go on, and he must find a way to keep moving forward. But moving around without having any sense of direction was counterproductive.

The arachnid's feet sank from time to time, forcing the spider to balance using its other legs and pull the sinking feet back to the surface. Thanks to its millions of hydrophobic tiny velvety hairs, it's easier to rise back to the surface. It can trap the air and add resistance to the sea, forcing its feet to rise whenever the wild waves attempt to sink it.

A bolt of lightning struck in their direction once again, forcing the spider to dodge it. In that situation, Liu Kai suddenly remembered something from the orange lightning that had nearly struck them.
