Training (01)

Ken followed Krisa and reached the training rooms. She touched the ID-watch to one of the room's exterior digital panels and the door slid open.

Following her inside, Ken found the room was built with a barrier to contain the energy. Krisa noticed his curiosity and explained, "Since the spaceship only has A-ranks and S-ranks, the barrier is created to be strong enough to withhold an attack from an SSS-rank."

To Ken, S-rank and above already seemed like a myth. His mind still couldn't wrap around the idea that he was also an S-rank awakened. He felt no different today than the him of six days ago.

"OK, let's start our lesson. Do you know how we get stronger?" Krisa asked.

It was something learned in elementary school. Ken naturally said, "Through beast crystals, medicine, and time."

"Sounds about right, but there are other ways. One is breakthroughs through overstimulation, but it's not a method for everyone. You have to face life and death and bet Lady Luck is on your side. Also, without a sound foundation, breakthrough through overstimulation could lead to unstable energy in the body. This is usually a method used if someone hasn't had a breakthrough in years."

Krisa continued, "A safer method is through medicine as a catalyst, but as you know, rare plants don't come by every day. That is why your ability is so valued.

Back to the topic, Rank F to S is just a classification of talent, but how do we know if we are improving? It is by testing the energy level in our body.

According to the energy level, we can again be classified from 1 to 12 Stars, with 12 Stars being the strongest class.

For example, though you are a newly awakened, the energy of an S-Rank would naturally bring you to 3 Stars. Some A-rank awakened who'd been around for a while might be 6 or 7 Stars even though their talent is lower than yours.

So don't think rank is everything. If you don't work hard, someone with a lower rank will overpower you.

What we are learning today is how to manipulate the energy in our body to do what we want."

Krisa paused and lifted a hand. A white light arose from her palm and cast a glow on her face. She said, "My ability is healing. Although with the current technology you just need to be placed in a healing pod and be as good as new, my ability's perk lies in that it's quick and convenient. How much energy we have determines how long we could use it for and its strength."

She laughed and joked, "Perhaps when I reach 12 Stars, I could revive the dead!"

Ken also laughed, "I'll be rely on you in the future then."

Krisa leaned forward and moved the glowing light towards Ken's hand. She instructed, "Touch my energy and concentrate on rejecting mine with yours."

Ken did as told and took her hand, focusing on pushing back her energy. A moment later, a stream of green-colored energy flowed from his hand and attacked Krisa's. She yelped quickly retracted her hand.

Scratching her head awkwardly, Krisa said, "Anyone else's energy attribute is more aggressive than mine, so I have to focus on strengthening physically." Kris was also confused on how she came to awaken such a harmless ability. It didn't fit her boisterous personality.

Ken was immersed in the feeling of controlling the wood energy. Instinctively he slowly turned the energy into vines like those when he had first awakened. When he tried to drop it as an object, the vine reverted to energy and dissipated.

Seeing this, Krisa explained, "A fire ability could release a red glow of energy and turn it into flames. A wind ability could release a gray glow, and an earth ability could release a yellow glow."

Both continued on their training until it was lunchtime, then headed out. Ken was exhausted and felt depleted of energy. Krisa placed a hand on his and a white glow wrapped around him. Slowly, his fatigue was gone but the energy was not restored. She then handed him a tube with green liquid and told him to drink it.

As soon as he did, the liquid dissolved in his body and faintly reinvigorated his energy.

As they walked, Krisa added, "This type of restoration drug is made using a bunch of Second-grade Feeble flowers. Since you are already out of energy, we can head to the plant cultivation room tomorrow and do the second part of your training."

Feeling renewed, Ken nodded, and soon both reached the cafeteria. At the same time, there were many other alphas also entering the cafeteria for their break.

As Ken was grabbing his meal, his eyes accidentally met with those of an unexpected alpha, also the only one he knew in the whole spaceship.

The vivid dream of this morning quickly flooded into his mind, and he quickly pulled his eyes away. Krisa behind him stared at him strangely and commented, "Why are you suddenly so red? The restoration drug shouldn't have this side effect?"

"..."

At another table, one of the alpha saw his superior staring at somewhere and followed his line of sight. Noticing it was an omega and a beta, he smirked vulgarly and elbowed the alpha next to him, "Look at that. Someone is sexually frustrated."

The alpha who was elbowed almost choked on his meal, he coughed a few times and returned a stronger jab. He said, "Rick, the most sexually frustrated person I know is you."

Egas withdrew his gaze and blandly added, "Unlike you, I can keep my dick under control." With no guilt to the events of yesterday.

Rick didn't know what he did to make his two friends have such an image of him. He didn't give up and chased on asking, "Why were you lecherously staring at the omega and beta then? You should have seen your face! Like that of a thirsty man stuck in a desert for thirty years. Hahaha!"

"..." Egas couldn't tell him he was pleasantly tortured the whole night. His dream continued from when the beta straddled him in the office. They did this and that. That and this. He could replay this for awhile.

Perhaps he was a little sexually frustrated...
