After the he completed his spell, the projection of Wizard dimmed and he dissappeared from the sight of Gods.
"Damn!"
Suprisingly, instead of Victor, the Shadow Emperor was the one who was most infuriated. He looked at the prophetess, his eyes bloodshot. After a while, when he didn't find out anything, he also went away.
Other Gods also immediately left as such a large-scale spell would have huge effects on a World. If they didn't find out its effect sooner then they would be at a disadvantage against other factions.
In no time at all, only the prophetess and God of Light were left. The Prophetess was relieved that she was alive but also worried about what her future would hold. As an Arcane Prophetess she could recieve premonitions from fate if her life was in danger. Even seeing bits and pieces of her own future was possible but now she couldn't see anything.
At this moment, she heard the God of Light's voice "What was your last vision?"
The Prophetess looked at him. The old man was still clam as ever. Seeing him, she seemed to gain some hope as she answered uncertainly "H...He is somewhere in Tanvr continent. Near Wembtion Empire I think."
...
"Haiiii...what was that sound?" Aren rubbed is his eyes as he tried to get up from the bed. He was confused due to that voice which still echoed in his mind. Half closed his eyes, he looked out.
The sun was already up by the time he woke up. He was still feeling a little groggy due to what happened yesterday.
By the time he changed his clothes, washed up and headed to dining hall, it was already the 6th hour of morning.
In the dining hall, he met Rina and others who were also eating breakfast. Seeing him coming towards them with breakfast in his hands they also waved their hands.
"Quickly sit down and finish your breads. You don't want to be late for miss Monica's lesson." Bryson, a junior also like Aren, reminded as soon as he saw him. He was a dwarf apprentice admitted here a month ago and was more experienced than him.
"Miss Monica is a newly advanced rank 2 mage and our assigned tutor. I've heard that she's very strict with her students."
'Oh! so rank 2 mages will become tutors.'
Aren noted this key information in his mind. He then hastily ate his food and followed others to the castle. Entering the classroom with Bryson, he was relieved that Miss Monica hadn't started teaching her lessons. After everyone took their seats, Monica who was dressed in dark red robes, entered from the front door.
As a genius mage, she managed to reach rank 2 by the age she became 33. Even though she was very young, her powers and intellect were not to be underestimated. Although she wasnot from any major families, she had already received many proposals of marriage. With that youthful body of hers and that beautiful face, even the sicons of major families were captivated.
"Alright, today we have three new students. So we'll do a short introduction. You first." After entering inside, she came before her desk and threw the book in her hand. Then, turning towards the students, she pointed at someone sitting in front row.
The student quickly stood up and introduced himself, looking proud while doing it.
"I am Stephen Edwards from the Edwards family. Fourth son of Derrick Edwards. I have blue ring aptitude."
After he introduced himself, there was a commotion in the classroom.
"So he is 'that' stephen. My older brother told me that he is a once in a century talent."
"...Among younger generations, apart from miss Emelia he is the only one who has blue ring aptitude..."
Several students were speaking among themselves in hushed voices but Aren could hear them clearly. He also got to know to what extent these genius were talented normally. If Stephen was a genius then he would be a monster. He finally fully understood how amazing his talent was and why Cowen repeatedly warned him.
"Silence!" as tutor Monica's voice rang out, the students quickly shut their mouths. After everyone quieted down, she instructed other two newcomers to introduce themselves. First, Aren stood up and introduced himself. Although several students were suprised at the fact that he was a natural aptitude holder, there wasn't that much of amazement like earlier. It seemed that these types of mages would appear from time to time.
Majority of them would join the already exisiting families, while a small number would make their own families. As Aren had green ring aptitude, there was chance he could reach rank 3 and form a family. So there was some attention placed onto him though.
The last one of the newcomers was a small girl. She was not gifted, only having a yellow ring aptitude like others and didn't have much of a presence. She introduced herself as kim from Hoover family. Her grandfather Lecter Hoover was an old rank 3 mage. However, when Aren looked at this medicore girl, his intution told him that she was not as simple.
After everyone aquainted themselves with the classroom, miss Monica started speaking. Her voice was crisp.
"Today, I'll do a revision for what I've taught you this whole month. Newcomers, if you have any questions, first ask your classmates. If even they can't answer it, then come to me."
"Open your book ''Theory of lesser magic'', page 3."
Aren opened the said book and saw that page 1 and 2 were filled with descriptions of the authors so he turned to page 3. There, he saw a very large paragraph explaining how lesser magic worked. Although the text was handwritten, it was very neat. There were also some handmade pictures explaining several principles of magic.
As tutor Monica started explaining quickly, Aren also opened a note book he brought and wrote the key information that she mentioned. After a while, he understood the basics of lesser magic.
Lesser Magic, as the term implied, was a magic used by lesser mages from rank 1 to rank 4. Its core part was basically ''gathering powers from the surroundings''. Imagining the spell model, chanting the incantation and triggering it. Everything done was to use the elements of around you like wind water, soil and even light.
If a lesser mage was in a desert then he or she wouldn't be able to use even an apprentice level water spell.
As for a mage's spiritual power, it represented the rank of a lesser mage. It also helped caster cast a spell. For the whole spellcasting process, spiritual power was vital.
In simple terms, mages having greater spiritual powers can use the forces of nature to a greater range. So they can use higher rank spells. Between a rank 1 mage and a rank 2 lesser mage there was only the difference of spiritual power and knowledge of spells.
Miss Monica also told them that aptitude was a deciding factor to increase a mage's spiritual power. There were two ways of increasing on the spiritual powers. One was the rune advancement and increasing the number of runes. Another one was using external things like potions and rituals.
Three hours passed by and the class was also about to end. Miss Monica told them to open another book and turned towards her students.
"Apprentices, as I have told you before; you should choose the subject which your runes fits to. In this semester, you'll only learn basics. Only when you pass the exams held every year for first semester juniors, will you can choose a subject. After you choose a subject, you'll be under separate teachers in your next semester. Only then you'll be given five spell models by your teachers, which you can add to your spellbooks."
"I believe most of you have already engraved a rune. Those who haven't, choose your rune and engrave it in next three days. To those who have engraved, write your names in a sheet of paper with your family and aptitude and put it in my desk after the class. Your teachers will be decided according to what rune you have engraved."
Gong! Gong! Gong!
At this moment, the bell rang, indicating tht morning classes were over. Miss Monica quickly grabbed her book and left the classroom.
After she was gone, Aren looked at the opened book in front of him. The subjects which an apprentice could take were neatly mentioned there.
