The next day when he came at the market, he couldn't sell any of his scrolls. After asking other customers, he found out that someone called Eric was selling enchanted scrolls and items for 60 silvers each. This pricing had made many enchanters leave the bazzar or sell their enchanted items at the same price.
Aren, at first believed that this senior called Eric, wouldn't be able to sell his scrolls at that price for much long but he seemed to have underestimated that senior.
Even if he had to take a loss, he was prepared to chase Aren from that area. When the third day also passed by with no customers coming to his shop, Aren finally couldn't sit still.
However, he couldn't also report this to the supervisor there as Eric had not hindered or damaged the market in any way. He had just lowered the price of his goods by a 'little' as he had claimed.
Thus finding no choice, Aren asked Rahil to sell his scrolls in his stall. Although he would have to pay 1 gold coin daily if he did that, it was better than not being able to sell nothing at all.
Rahil, as a the only grade 0 enchanter under mage Claude also had a bit of fame, so letting Rahil sell his scrolls was a good idea too.
After he was gone, the senior Eric also started to sell his scrolls in the appropriate price, which made other enchanters also heave a sigh of relief. It seemed that this senior Eric was captivated by the girl's beauty the moment he saw her.
As a senior apprentice from a relatively good family, and also one of the best enchanters among apprentices; Aren seemed to have hurt his ego when the beautiful girl went to Aren's shop first. The first time may be a coincidence but second time also in his shop, how dare this junior!
Aren, however, could not be bothered by the thoughts of other people. The only thing he needed now was money. He had no time to Compete with some prideful kid over some useless feeling of superiority.
'So what if a beautiful girl was included in it? but yeah where did that girl go to actually. She hadn't appeared on the market since then... There were already some rumors about many young mages searching for but they were not able to find her...'
After that small incident in a corner of market, Two months had passed by.
During this time, Aren had regularly enchanted at least 10 scrolls a day. It was a bit difficult at first but as the days passed, he became more proficient in enchanting. In about a month, he also learned how to enchant swords, accessories and other items.
Other than enchanting, he also didn't forget to learn the spell lesser divination. After One and half months of analysing and dilligent practice, he'd finally managed to learn the spell.
As for the next 15 days, he learned an auxilary spell; Spirit sense. This was a spell which was used to detect magical beasts and other mages. Before, he only recognised the mages and apprentices by their clothes, but now he could use spirit sense.
"I've finally made 500 gold coins." Looking at the bulging bags of money inside his pocket, Aren couldn't help but smile. His hard work had finally paid off. However, thinking about those 55 gold coins which he had to give to Rahil made his smile vanish completely.
Although they were studying under the same master, there was no kinship or closeness between them. If he could earn free money, then he definitely wouldn't be polite.
After a while, he sighed and went to the market. After asking claude, he now knew where the orb of vaticination was sold. As he was buying the item, it also seemed resonable to his master and other apprentices. Learning lesser diviation within about four months was an appropriate speed for green ring aptitude apprentice.
However, if Aren told them that he had learnt three auxiliary spells other than that spell, their jaws would probably drop.
The market was still crowded as ever. So as a result, when he finally bought the orb and brought it back to his room, it was already night time. That, however, was the best time to do divination.
According to master, at night a diviner's connection with the river of destiny will increase which increases that chances of getting clear and longer visions. This was the reason why most of the diviners did divinations in the night time.
After coming to dorms, he was not in a hurry to try the spell. He first ate his dinner then took a bath. After he changed his clothes, he put the Orb on an empty table. He also put his spellbook beside it.
On the second page of the spellbook there were already the incantations four spells written, three auxilary and one main spell which he was going to cast.
When he heard bell rang indicating it was the 21st hour, he started to slowly chant the incantations.
While doing so, he remembered the precautions given by his master when Aren visited him in the morning.
"Never try to divine about beings whose rank is higher than yours!" is what he had said.
To do a divination, an Orb of divination and spellbook which had the divination spell model recorded on it, was needed. There was also the condition that the diviner must have interacted or at least seen the target once to divine, be it a living being or non living like rivers or house. As everything had a purpose in their existence it was possible to divine about anything.
If the condition was not fulfilled, the divination would fail and Aren had someone in his mind who he had already seen and was not higher in rank than him.
Kim, that mysterious girl who was now hailed as a genius in comprehensive capacity. It was proven that the higher the aptitudes, greater the memory capacity and learning capability of a mage, so many were accusing her of cheating.
But Aren didn't think so, as there was no way she could have cheated in the presence of a rank 2 and several rank 1 invigilators. There must be some secret behind her and he was going to uncover that secret tonight.
At the thought of this, he hastened his chanting and his voice also became louder and louder.
Although it only took two minutes to chant the whole spell, he was already covered in sweat by the time he finished the spell. After he pronounced the target's full name and locked onto her, he breathed a sigh of relief. In about four to five seconds, the orb started to glow with a dim white light and a blurry picture was coming into view. This meant that the divination was a sucess.
Slowly the whole scene was getting clearer, like when a person who had eye sightedness wears glasses.
When the scene in the orb got clear, Aren could see that in a dim room, a girl was sitting on the bed and was reading an old book, all while without any clothes on her body!
'Wait, she does have a cloth, is that a panty?
Yes, she was completely naked, only wearing thin white, panties...'
Seeing this, Aren's mouth and eyebrows twitched at a the same time. What a pity, it would have been great if it was a ''well-developed'' woman but a little girl...
'No, no what am I thinking?' Aren's mind had automatically started to think some ''interesting ideas'' but as he had lived for more than 25 years on earth, he quickly composed himself.
Then a realization dawned him, he quickly found out that there was a problem in the spell. Looking at the spellbook, he confirmed that there was a mistake in the incantation. He should have written past in the there but had written present and the outcome, it showed what kim was doing right now.
Aren stared at the Orb which was showing Kim's current situation and...
'What!?... Why did she had to undress even the last clothing she was wearing? This can't go on.'
Aren hurriedly ended the divination ritual, even though it was not five minutes yet. Now only a little more than half of his spiritual power was left. It could support one more divination.
He then did the same procedures as before, while not forgetting to correct his mistake. After he finished it, although his mind was a little dizzy, he forced himself to concentrate on the Orb.
He didn't know if it was his own imagination or not, but the Orb glowed a little slower than it did at first. Although the images were in fast motion, Aren could fully see and understand her past. But when the scenes moved on to her ninth to tenth years, Aren was astonished because she met with a person.
The problem was not with the person itself but what he had in his hand. It was a gun! and not just any gun but a modern sniper.
At that moment, Aren only had one word with a big question mark in his mind.
How?
How did he get it?... During his stay in this world for more than two years, Aren was convinced that this world only had Cold weapons. Guns and grenades were the weapons only used in earth, but now.
Aren then realized that girls, no all humans in this world, by taking account to the civilization and lack of industries, don't use products like panties as undergarments. Even he only had a black cloth wrapped up in his lower body. Thinking about the shiny property of the cloth, it also seemed to be made of polyester...
He then noticed when he saw earlier, how kim being naturally smart since birth and her behaviour which didn't seem like a kid's at all. After a while he had a thought in his mind which even he himself didn't dare believe.
'It can't be, she is...'
