Chapter 2

Trence's POV.

I was surprised when I fell from the table, dripping wet, which made me wake up in full alert. I looked up to see Taileen with a baton.

Like, a bona fide, iron baton.

I was horrified. Her face was angry, and her grip on the baton was visibly strong.

"What the hell?!" I shouted in anger as I wiped my face with my arm.

"Shut your trap!! I was told by Ms. Cadence to wake you up. I shouted at you, shook you, and hear this, I BATHED you with ice freaking water, but it was no use. You're still asleep! So, good thing my baton is here, it did the work. Splendidly, may I add." She said, with a smile sweet as candy. I wanted to punch it...okay, I was just half-kidding.

"You used an iron baton to wake me up?! That could possibly make me sleep forever!!" I exasperated. 'She's nuts. Insane!' I thought.

"Whatever. Be thankful it didn't, then." She smirked at me as she pushed the baton back to its small stature and left the classroom. Immediately, the girls surrounded me with worried faces.

"Are you okay Prince Trence?"

"Do you have a scar?"

"How dare she hit you with that iron stick!! Are you okay?"

I smiled at them in a forced manner and nodded. "I'm okay, thanks." 'Lie, my body hurts like heck.'

I brushed off dirt on my pants.

'Taileen Anderson is insane. Why was I even interested in her? Just because she didn't care about me? Hilarious.' I thought angrily as I brushed.

I saw Jack rushing towards me. "Trence! Are you okay?!"

"Hell no! I got hit by an iron baton!" I whispered/shouted.

"Dang, that's awesome! Who hit you?" He asked with a smile.

I rolled my eyes, mumbling, "Taileen."

I growled, making the girls behind me freaking sigh whimsically.

'The hell? Why did my parents even bring me back here?'

"America was so much better..." I mumbled and sighed.

----

We went to the clinic because Jack is my mom. Sarcasm, if you didn't catch that.

I also needed a whole set of dry clothes, since that frightening girl drenched me with water.

"Princ — I mean, Mr. Jones, your hot — I mean, your body is fine. Just place ice on your abs — I mean your — "

Annoyed, I grabbed the ice pack from her and smiled politely. "I get it, Ms. Nurse, thanks. I'll leave."

"R---Right! Okay, goodbye!"

I smiled at her again and stormed off. 'Jeez, that nurse needs to end her hormones. She's like, 20 already. Is she some kind of pedophile?' I thought, pissed off.

Once I left the infirmary, I was greeted by a large number of girls snapping their cameras at me. I looked at myself. Oh, the polo. I sighed and wore it. "Scram!" I yelled, still a little pissed.

The girls sighed. "I said, scram!" I yelled again. The girls immediately ran away like cockroaches. I rolled my eyes and continued to dry my hair.

I went to the canteen and accidentally bumped into something. I winced because of the bruise and kept looking around who I bumped to but I couldn't see who.

I looked around and didn't see anyone. Once I looked down I finally saw a girl.

Taileen, the lunatic.

"I heard about the bruise." She said, backing off. "And?" I asked, expecting an apology. "It must still hurt." She said, not meeting my eyes. "Definitely, more so now since you bumped at me." I pried, still waiting.

Finally, she sighed.

"Sorry," she finally said. I smiled with pride. "Tha —"

"Wait, before you think deeply of this," she suddenly cut me off. "My apology doesn't mean I'm being kind to you or crushing on you, okay? I just wanted to say sorry because I hit you with my baton that I naturally don't use. So, don't boast around nor think wrong stuff, or you'll finally meet the end of your days." She threatened.

'Denial much?'

I got the fact that she simply felt bad and apologized, but it seemed like Taileen didn't.

"Yeah, alright." I chuckled.

She glared at me. "Don't laugh at me."

I raised both my hands in the air as if saying, 'I'm not! I'm not! Don't hit me with your baton.'.

She frowned and went out of sight. Like some ninja or something.

"Hey T?"

I turned around and saw my friend, Rinna Clark. She's the same level as me but she was in the neighboring class.

"Yes, Rin?" I replied with a smile.

She chuckled. "I've heard about it."

"About what?" I asked.

"Tailee hit you with a baton on the stomach, right?"

Tailee? Like Taileen?*

[Pronunciation is: Tayleen-Taylee. Not Teyleen or Teylee. It isn't pronounced the same way as Taylor is.]

"Yeah?" It was a question.

"Jeez. Are you okay?" She asked me with her hand on her hip.

I nodded. "Yep."

"Taileen is my best friend, so sorry."

I smiled, flashing my perfect teeth. Kidding. "It's okay. She already apologized too."

'And I'd rather not talk about such a unlikable girl.'

"So, Trence," She said. I looked at her with a questioning look. "Yeah?"

"What do you think about her?" She said with an expectant look.

"What else should I think about her? She's a tiny, scary woman." I sarcastically said with a dry chuckle.

"Huh? That's all?" Rin said, seemingly bewildered. I was confused about her reaction. "What do you mean, 'that's all'?"

"I mean..." She trailed off, her eyes diverting away from mine.

"Well, I mean, she is..." my voice lowered down in shyness. "...kinda pretty, BUT that's honestly the only positive thing I see in her."

Rin giggled. "You've only met her for a day, anyway."

"I'd rather meet her ONLY for a day."

-

Our conversation went on until we arrived at the canteen. Once she headed to her group of friends, I finally sighed in annoyance.

"So, now my world revolves around with that girl."

'With Taileen.'

'Lucky me. Not.' I thought and walked away.
