Rachael Point Of View:
"Tea?!" I exclaim in shock and grab my hair.
"You're Hannah, who dated Samantha," Mackenzie said with confidence in her voice. "And when
did you guys broke up?"
"Wait, I know this, Samantha, right?" I question them, still holding onto my hair.
I look at Hannah, who's looking doleful at Mackenzie. Just like a month ago, the face of regret and sadness filled in her face. Back then, I would've to comfort her to move on, but knowing it could be Samantha Baltimore. Knowing it could be Samantha makes me feel anxious, disgust, and shock.
"We broke up a year ago, and yes, I'm Samantha's ex-girlfriend," Hannah says quietly, her eyes
remain on Mackenzie.
"Is that why the relationship between Samantha and you is bad?" I question them again.
"Is there a specific reason to break my daughter's heart?" Brian asks in disappointment, and his facial expression turned dark.
Hannah looks down at the floor, and I reach over to hold her hand. Even though knowing Hannah dated Samantha, and it makes me feel disgusted. I'm not feeling disgusted because they dated, I'm feeling disgusted because Hannah cheated on Samantha. Let's talk about this later, and help Hannah for now.
"I'm sorry," Hannah apologizes, looking ashamed. Some strands of her hair fell in the front of her face as she looks down at Mackenzie.
"Are you going to treat this lady the same way?" Brian asks and puts his hand on my shoulder.
"Of course not!" Hannah blurts out loudly, and she slams her hand on the table. "Never, I would never do it again. I've broken someone who I used to love, and she still holds within my heart. However, I was the one who broke her first, and I miss all the things we had. I do. In the past, I would ask her to come back to me and tell her I still love her."
"But...if she comes back, how much would it worth? How much do I have to tell her that I'm sorry until she would forgive me? How much do I have to mend until she's back to normal? How much do I have to push through to have the way it was before?" She continues. "But is it worth it? Is it worth it? I don't want to come back to my old troubles, because I want to move on. I want to move on - I want us to move on. We don't deserve each other because Samantha deserves someone who would love her without second thoughts. Someone willing to take risks, someone who cares for her. "
She looks up and looks at me, holds my hand in hers.
"Yes, I dated Samantha Baltimore, and yes, I did cheat on her," Hannah admits as streams of tears fall from her eyes. "But, I'm trying my best to be the person who you deserve. I'm trying my best to be better."
My mouth opens and closes as I try to think of something. I should've known this sooner. I should've known that Samantha was the one who dated Hannah because of their action. Except, I didn't bother to observe, or to look into it.
"Hannah, could we talk about this later?" I say quietly, and I shook my head. "Also, it's nice meeting you, Mr. Baltimore and Mrs. Baltimore."
Mackenzie gives me a small smile, wrinkles forming on her cheeks.
"It's a pleasure meeting you, too. And Hannah, too." She says and leans forward, giving me a small hug. "I'm glad Hannah is changing better because hurting our daughter is devastating. I wish you two for the better in the future."
"Thank you," I said dismissing them, and tug Hannah away from them.
"Babe -"
"Don't babe me, and we've got a lot to talk about," I said harshly. "Also, let's get out of here.
Hannah has paid beforehand, so we storm out of the restaurant.
"Shit, it's cold," I cursed as the cold air came in contact with my skin. "May I have your jacket?"
She shrugs off her jacket and drapes it over my shoulder, "Let's get out of here."
We walk under the snowing sky, and through the coldness air to her car. Even though it was busy in the restaurant, the street looks dead without any automobiles running on them.
Hannah opened my door for me to get in the passenger seat, and she went to her driver's seat.
She pulled back out the parking lot and drove down the empty streets.
"So..." Hannah says.
"I can't believe it, you know," I say. "Like - God! Why? I mean, I know I told you that you shouldn't let your past affect you, but why? Shit - I know why, and the reasons you did it, I know. Gosh! You -"
I let out a devastating groan and slap my hands on my thigh. I want to scream right now, I want to trash around, and I want to know -
Gosh, I feel disgusted, mad, angry, and irritated.
"Samantha and I dated for about two years, and I cheated on her for like two or three months. Samantha used to be an outgoing girl and used to smile every time someone looks at her. She would wave at you, she would hug you, and she would be there for you. She's strong, but sometimes she would break." Hannah smiled as she thinks of Samantha of the old days. "Samantha got her problems, too. She would stand with confidence. Everything about her was gold until I destroyed it. I took her for granted when I cheated on her, and I broke her trust in me. Our promises, I broke it. That is why Austin hated me because, in the past, his relationship with Samantha was close. They would cheer each other up and do things together."
Her eyes twinkle with happiness," Sometimes we would pull a prank at each other to laugh. Back then, all of us, including Sarah, we would go on road trips together. Go camping, go, and explore mystery caves. Everything was perfect, but I destroyed it. I cheated on Samantha during one of her hard times, and she would never share her problems with anyone. However, she would always come to me for comfort. She didn't expect me to cheat on her. I switch off the light in her world."
I look at her with flames in my eyes, "You knew she was dealing something alone."
"Yes," Hannah whispers and parks the car in front of my driveway.
"But, you still cheated on her?" I ask in irritation.
"Yes," She whispers again.
"For about two or three months?!" I ask, raising my voice.
Hannah hesitates for a brief moment before replying, "Yes."
"During those two or three months, have you ever thought about your actions? Ever thought about Samantha? Did she ever cross your mind when you were having sex with a dickhead?!" I yelled at her.
She flinches at my outburst, and she bits her lower lip. She lowers her eyes as I continue glaring at her side.
"Probably not, because you weren't in love with her," I whisper to Hannah before getting out of the car and throw her jacket at her.
