Sphere of dreams

One of the things he has learned about her since she regained her memories, other than her being bold and confident. She has an easily embarrassed side. Haruka looked at her face and noticed a slight tint of red on her cheeks.

She is so unusual; why is she so embarrassed when she started this?

Unfortunately, he could not enjoy this moment with her for a long time when the cell doors opened.

There stood Zane. "I apologize for disturbing you, but I have something to announce."

Lila sighed and reluctantly got off him. "Then Haruka, I will be back later."

At those words, Zane shook his head. "Haruka should come too."

Lila quickly turned to him, concerned. "Is it fine with you? I don't think you will lose control since you just had my blood. But being in a room with normal people might make you-" He cuts her off by lowering his face and stealing a kiss.

He could not help it; after all, she acted like nothing happened infuriated him. How did his past self cope with her being so calm about everything? But now that he thought about it, those rumors made more sense now.

He must have pounced on her a lot.

It was just a brief kiss, but it was a passionate one. After the kiss, he hugged her tightly, not giving her a chance to speak, and just inhaled her scent for a while.

Eventually, he felt her hit his chest and looked at her expression. It was a mixture of bewilderment and embarrassment. What stood out to him was her puffed cheeks.

She looks adorable; now he wants to do something more.

"What are you doing!" Lila exclaimed, embarrassed.

"I wanted to continue."

Haruka did not see the need to lie. If Zane hadn't appeared, they could have easily gotten into that atmosphere.

He did not understand what was wrong with him. Is it because of his training to control his blood lust? But while her blood does appeal to him, and he craves it, there is something more.

"Oh, you-" He cuts her off by kissing her again.

This time, however, Lila drew back quickly. She averted her gaze and looked down at the ground. "That part of you remains the same- what am I supposed to do if your like this?"

"If you went along with it, I think he will be pleased," Zane spoke up.

'I almost forgot he was there.' Haruka did not hide this fact, and surprisingly Zane did not mind. The others would awkwardly cough after walking in on him and Lila being a bit affectionate.

Lila glared at Zane and sighed. "Let us get going already, isn't there important news?" She quickly walked a few steps ahead of him.

But Haruka noticed how the girl casually grabbed his hand and pulled him along. He stares at their intertwined hands for a few seconds with a tender gaze on his face.

….

Only a couple of days had passed since he last saw the light, but the moment he arrived at the entrance of the dungeon, he felt his eyes sting. It occurred to him that his eyes were still red. Is this the reason why? As he pondered on this, Zane tapped his shoulders.

"Does it hurt?"

"A little. Is it supposed to be like this?"

Zane nodded. "I am afraid you cannot undo it; you can. But your eyes should adjust to the light when you are in this state."

Zane's explanation made sense, but it did not mean that the pain would go away.

It did not take long before they reached the meeting room. Austin Kiryu was there, alongside Nobu and Ayase Kotori. The usual members, no, there were other people—a woman with white-colored hair and amethyst-colored eyes.

It was his mother-in-law- didn't she have brown hair before? No, what stood out to him was the boy beside her. He looked to be about sixteen years old, and yet there was something childish about his features.

Lila suddenly let go of his hand and rushed over. She immediately pulled the boy into a deep hug.

"Mo-"

There were visible tears in the girl's eyes. "You're my son, right? You look like him."

'My son.' Right, this was something he learned recently that they have a child together. She reacted very sensitively when he brought it up, so he realized there must be some complications, but he did not think it was like this.

No wonder any normal person would have a hard time explaining this.

After the rather emotional reunion, Lila turned to Zane with a hardened gaze. "Explain." Lila trailed off. "The reason he is like this, you should know, right? It must relate to what you're about to say."

His wife really is a smart one.

Zane nodded and sighed. He extended his hand out, and a bright light appeared in the center of the room. It was a projection of a large-looking black spear in the center of a tower in ruins. 'Is that star town?' The town his wife comes from.

"I was working on this for a long time alongside Haruka. Inside that sphere is a collection of humans evolved genes dreams."

"Their dreams? You didn't take their powers?" Kiryu said, puzzled.

"Initially, I did, but the power was far too weak. Haruka was the one who discovered that taking people's dreams, the dreams of evolved humans would work far better."

'I discovered that?' It did not ring a bell to him. But, Haruka looked at the image of the sphere. There is something familiar about it.

"Ah, is that why he chased after important stars/rising stars in the entertainment industry?"

Nobuhiko whistled. "So, he wasn't sleeping with them for no reason. He wanted to know if they had the aptitude for the sphere."

Haruka felt very uncomfortable how they talked about him, like he wasn't there. No, they were talking about the old him. He hated not having his memories even more now. If only he could remember. His thoughts broke off when Lila went back to him and stood directly in front of him.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and mumbled. "I think it is time for me to stop being so stubborn regarding you not having your memories. In times like this, it must be very frustrating."

"You already agreed."

Lila shook her head and pulled away from him as she took out her pendant. She opened the locket up, and there was a bright-colored gem there.

"The solution to your memory loss was quite simple all along. Kiryu brought this up too. For hanyous, they have a stone, a gem of life. This is the core of their powers, in other words, a portion of their heart. Most couples who have gone through that ceremony exchange their stones sooner or later. I did my ceremony with Kiryu, so initially, I gave it to Kiryu. But almost like it has a mind of it's own, it eventually went to you. Haruka, you also gave me your stone."

It was almost like she was telling him that he gave her his heart.

Haruka felt his heartbeat increase as she kissed the stone.

"This has protected me all this time; it was because of this that I managed to survive my pregnancy when it should have killed me." Lila trailed off. "And now, I want it to help you."
