Tell me you were happy?

"Yuhi-san, your still going to act this way? Why aren't you touching me?"

'They are going around in circles.'

"It's not that I don't want to because you know how much my desires for you have not changed."

'It seems familiar.'

"Then, what is the issue?"

Ever since the world has turned upside down, he has made up all sorts of excuses. Although she understood them all, it's frustrating! 'I want my kiss, hug and to be spoiled!' But the most he does is kiss her lightly.

Yuhi rolled his eyes. "My dear, what are you thinking? Just say it."

"I want you to play with me in a naughty way!" Sumire blurted out. Before she knew it, she said something ridiculous. She felt her entire face redden.

Again? What on earth is she saying. How could she be so shameless! Oh, this is embarrassing; she has no excuse for this one.

Get a grip! 'I'm thirty-eight years old; how could I say such outrageous-sounding things!'

Sumire assumed that he wouldn't do anything again. But before she knew it, Yuhi was on top of her.

"Hah, you. What are you doing? I'm holding back because, like Lila said, we need your strength more than anything. You won't have much strength for a while."

"Oh."

'So that's all?'

"I-I thought you--"

Yuhi nuzzled his nose against hers. "Don't be so silly, my wife. When this is all over, I will hog you all to myself and not let you rest. We can work on making more children then too."

Her already red stained cheeks redden more at his words. She hits his chest with her hands protesting, but Yuhi laughs.

"Since I heard your desires loud and clear just now. I'll remember it well."

"Don't tease me!"

"I would never tease you on this. I'm always serious." Yuhi mumbled. "It's you who teases me. Don't test me, Sumire."

"H-how can you still say such things at this age?"

"Why are you letting our older age restrict what you want? You're so weird."

"That's not-" She paused when Yuhi bent down and bit her neck.

"I've had enough; you teased me too much. At least let me drink from you."

However, after drinking for a few minutes, Yuhi pulled away frustrated as he sat them both up. "Look, I think we should talk properly."

"Talk about?"

Yuhi's gaze dimmed. "Do you not know what I am talking about? It seems like there is something you want to tell me for a while, right? However, I thought it was something difficult-" Yuhi picked her up from the corner and showed the home screen. "I see you have no problem discussing it with him?"

The words Nagawa Sano sprawled across her screen.

A troubled look appeared on Sumire's face when she saw it.

'I told him not to contact me so much, but that guy never listens. Look, Yuhi-san is having weird thoughts again.'

"What I have to tell you, Yuhi-san has nothing to do with him, so I haven't said anything."

"Are you sure?"

Sumire frowned when she heard his tone. "Are you going to accuse me?"

"That's not it."

"The reason I have been seeing Sano more recently is because the last time I went over, I saw something that belonged to Hino. When I brought it up, he confessed that he had wanted to give it to me. But he didn't want to mail it over, and he was waiting for the right time."

"Something Hino left behind?"

"I had a look at it recently. There are loads of documents there. I think he was investigating the ancient structure in those ruins. The keys and locks Lila-chan's generation have. I think we can use it on that."

"What kind of structure is it? It's not like the music one, right?"

"Mm, it's different from the god idol structures. At first glance, Hino thought it was just part of a broken building, but then one night, when he was exploring, the letters glowed. There was a reaction to the charm Lila-chan made using her powers then. It seemed he started to investigate it in detail. He finally found a large clue, and-"

'And then he died. He went to that place with Sano and died.' Sumire felt her entire body tremble at the memory. At the memory of receiving that message and arriving too late, seeing Hino's lifeless body like that. But even during his last breath, he told her.

'Hey, won't you smile for me? I have always liked your smile. Whenever you smile, my world gets brighter. But I am worried, your are such a crybaby. Will you be okay if I am not here? Your husband is unreliable at times.'

Yuhi pulled her into his arms, and she struggled to break free. "You made me remember. This is your fault, Yuhi-san."

"I'm sorry." Yuhi placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. "I was the one who said you could still meet with Nagawa, but I end up getting jealous. It's just this entire time; he has only loved you. All the other guys who loved you have more or less moved on or tried dating other people. But he is the only one who has remained very loyal."

"If Hino was still here, I think he would be the same. He liked me a lot."

But when she heard Sano say it after she brought up the accident, she felt sick. She knew about Hino's feelings long ago, and he even admitted it. But when he admitted his feelings, he also confessed that Yuhi is more important to him. However, when she looked at those documents, she understood.

'At some point, I became more important to him. But he hid that from me so I wouldn't feel troubled.'

"Live a healthy and long life, as much as possible be healthy and well even if we do not meet as often. I made this wish for all those who had feelings for me. I wanted them all to be happy." Sumire felt the tears well up. "But how many people have died and gotten into accidents for my sake? How much more pain do I have to cause others?"

She pushed Yuhi down onto the bed and cupped his cheeks. "I feel like just associating with me brings misfortune on others. Yuhi-san, there is something I have been hiding from you. But it's nothing new. I have felt this way for a long time. I am terrified of something happening to you, terrified of you dying before me."

She may have left for seven years, but she knew Yuhi was alive at the very least. That was enough for her, even if she missed him terribly and couldn't see him.

Sumire recalled that huge battle against Lucifer back when she was twenty. That time Yuhi-san sustained such a severe injury, so she used her life force to save him.

"That is my line; you used your own life force to save me. Hah, how do you think that makes me feel? If you were going to do something that stupid, I should have just let Lucifer take you away back then. You're terrified that I will die before you? I'm not the one with my life force cut in half."

"But I-"

"Sumire." Yuhi cuts her off as he sits her up again and holds her tightly. "Do not fear death; no, do not fear my death. All humans die someday; it's just a matter of when. Because their time is limited, however, they live such beautiful lives. Unlike them, people like us have slightly more time, but eventually, we too will fade away. Before then, we can make more memories together and be happy."

She understood that, after all, wasn't she the one who said those words to him?

"If I happen to die before you, in my last moment, I want you to tell me that my efforts were not in vain and that I made you happy."

Sumire wrapped her arms around his neck and mumbled. "You don't have to wait."
