Our Dream Part 2

Yumeko's thoughts broke off when she heard the sound of something rustling. She opened her eyes and noticed that Ahoji Kumi had placed a blanket around her.

Perhaps it was due to that 'declaration.' she made. But Yumeko found it very difficult to speak to Ahoji Kumi. She knows they will be out soon, but she has to put up with this awkwardness before then.

To think she would have a dream regarding her time with Atsu-Huan now of all times. Back then, she would never have imagined this type of outcome. If she knew their future would end up this way, then she would never have accepted him.

Shining Star

"In my dreams is a melody.

It opens up that old long-kept secret

Your one and only shining star

My greatest wish has brought me

To where I am now today

The stars are woven in the sky.

"I stand on the stage, this path I chose

When the sad and dark days have all passed by

and when the time for magic is here

Just reach out with your hands.

For the day we've all been dreaming about."

"I believe that all of my dreams

They can all come true one day. Oh yeah

Wanna follow that hidden starlight

That lies deep within my heart."

Oh, this is the goddess4? At first, Yumeko was skeptical about hearing them sing from another dimension. But she can hear them clearly. 'I haven't heard Lila-chan sing for a long time, as I thought listening to her voice calms me down.'

It was the same back then; whenever she heard the girl sing,, all her turbulent emotions would settle.

"He is taking a while. I thought he would rush at the opportunity to save you."

Yumeko's sweat fell when she heard the girl's words. Why is this person so blunt? Then again, Atsuya was the same way too. They are very similar- Yumeko shook her head. Even if that is the case, the one who will decide is Atsuya.

But why is this person so sure that Atsuy-Huan, Yumeko exhaled deeply. It is hard for her to adjust to using his actual name. Even if it is his real name, the person she dated was 'Atsuya.' They are the same people, but it felt strange. If she acknowledges him as Huan, then the gap between them would grow.

After all, no matter how important her father is in the business world, the gap between the Kanehera and Terashima families was far too large. Although Huan's real father, Tsueno Mamoru, is alive, Huan is registered as Terashima Huan. As her father would say, 'it's not blood that's important but the formal documents.' On paper, he is formally from the Terashima family, even if he is not Terashima Yuhi's son.

When he first revealed himself in front of her, more than being upset, she felt relieved. She suspected it for a while, but she had no actual evidence. Other than that, he seemed to get along with Haruka very well.

"Why did you agree to my decision to stay behind?" Kumi suddenly shifted the topic.

"Oh uh-"

"Did you also want to test him?"

Yumeko felt her cheeks color, and she coughed awkwardly. "I suppose. I just feel that if we ask him directly, he won't respond. For him, music is the best way for him to convey his feelings."

"The Terashima family, no child of Terashima Sumire's, express their feelings through music. For them, it is the same as breathing." Kumi trailed off. "Asking Huan to decide this way is indeed the best method. But it's also cruel; ,he would probably have delayed it for a bit longer with his personality. However, this situation cannot continue."

Yumeko nodded. "If he continues this way, he will crumble and one day just disappears."

Kumi sighed deeply. "You know him far too well."

"Uh- ut didn't you conclude it the same way?"

"I did, but hearing it from you seems more sincere. Truthfully when he first came to live with us, he looked like he was about to wither away. I asked him out, hoping to take his mind off things. I wanted to give him something to live for. He gradually got better and became livelier. But there were times when he would stare off into the distance. He missed you, no." Kumi shook her head. "He missed his best friend and the girl he loved."

Yumeko clenched her fist. "When I first learned that there was a chance for him to be alive. I felt mortified. There is no way he would do that to us. Why would he fake his own death and watch us - no watch Haruka suffer so much? Haruka suffered a lot after the accident. He took full responsibility even though he was not the only one at fault. I was very angry."

"When did you discover this?"

"I think it was around a year or half a year after the accident. But I kept it hidden and erased the possibility. It can't be; he wouldn't."

"During that time, he was still having difficulty speaking-" Kumi paused. "Where did you learn this?"

"I received something in the mail. There were some photographs and a video that spotted him in Tokyo after the accident."

But now that she thought about it, it was very strange.

"Sophia was the one who sent those to you."

Yumeko blinked when she heard Kumi's words. "Eh, but?" At that time, she didn't even know who that woman was.

"During the time you got to know Haruka-kun, Sophia was abroad; otherwise, you would not have had the opportunity to get to know him."

Now that Kumi-san mentions it if that woman knew Haruka for a long time. It is a wonder why she never interfered.

"When she returned, she learned of what happened and in her words decided to teach you a lesson." Kumi exhaled deeply. "She is truly devious to think she went that far. She desperately tried to create friction between Haruka-kun and you; she kept using whatever opportunity to remind you of the accident and blame Haruka-kun."

"But it didn't work."

"Correct, you acted distantly, but you still relied on Haruka. Because of that, she resorted to threatening Haruka-kun directly. Haruka-kun started to treat you coldly after a certain time, correct?"

Now that she mentioned it, at some point, Haruka stopped apologizing and having that guilty look on his face. At some point, he looked at her with such cold eyes.

So it was all because of that woman.
