"The cleaning company sent me the resume given by the assassin," Kosuke took out his phone and search for the PDF file. He briefed the mafia boss on Ash, "Ash Vicars, age 20. Majors in Mechanical Engineering at National University Z. He is a straight A student and that was basically what was written on the resume."
"Any close contacts in the university?" Jovia asked.
Kosuke nodded. "My subordinates are at the university now. They are running through the lecture tapes and surroundings to determine Ash's close contacts."
When the chained young man heard what was happening, he knew where this was going. Immediately, Ash shouted out with a hoarse voice. His mouth tasted like blood after the previous tortures. "Stop! Please!"
"Oh? Stop what?" Jovia asked. His voice had a hint of curiosity.
"You know what I am talking about!"
"And why should I?"
"Because…" Ash hesitated. What can he offer? Information? He knew nothing.
"Tell me about your organisation."
"I…" Ash couldn't answer that question either. The organisation tells the hitmans nothing, except for their mission description.
"Then what can you offer?" When Jovia said that, Ash didn't know what to say. There wasn't anything that he could offer to the Mafia Boss.
"I offer you my life!" In the heat of the moment, Ash shouted out. "You can use me however you want. Just..Just don't hurt anyone in the university!"
"Oh?" Jovia's eyebrows raised slightly. This was indeed the first time he had ever talked to a stranger for this long. Usually, he would lose interest and yet, Ash Vicars, a mysterious hitman caught his eye.
"Please.." Ash's voice started to waver. His vision started to get blurry too. Before he fainted, he squeezed out the bit of strength from his body to say it one last time. "Please…"
The young's man head finally relaxed as it drooped to face the rocky ground. The bloodied back of his made him look lifeless. The subordinates around Jovia did not move a single step. They were awaiting on what the Mafia boss would say. What came out next from his mouth however, completely shocked everyone at the scene.
"Treat his wounds now and dress him up. I will give you one hour. Is that enough?" Jovia decided. He looked at Kosuke for confirmation.
"Ah? Ye..Yes boss that is more than enough time." Kosuke replied quickly. He continued, "But what are we going to do with him after?"
As he left out of the cell, he answered straightforwardly. The twins followed behind. "We are going home."
After Ash had fainted, the young man entered a dream again. This time, he was not in darkness, but rather, he was in a room. A room built entirely out of wood. There was a single bed next to a bedside table, a window that opened to the view of a forest and a study table in front of the window. A lady sat by the study table. She wore a beautiful white dress that contrasted with her jet black hair. From the back, Ash could tell that she was reading a book. The content was unknown.
It took Ash a few seconds to absorb his surroundings and realised who the person was. His dull emotions immediately heighten and got brighter. He called out with a bubbly voice, something that was not often heard, "Big sister Rea!"
The lady dressed in white turned around when she heard someone call out from behind her. There was only one word that could describe her looks. Beautiful. There was not a hint of imperfection on her face. She had an oval face with big brown eyes, a nose that was thin and streamline, and lips that any man wanted for themselves. Indeed, Ash had guessed correctly that she was the big sister Rea that he knew.
"Oh, little brother Ash. How nice it is to see you here." As she spoke with her elegant voice, Ash already took steps forward to hug her. The position of the hug was slightly and yet, the lady in white did not reject the boy's action. Rather, she continued to speak, "You have grown bigger, little brother."
"I missed you, big sister." Tears dripped down from Ash's face, while his head laid on Rea's shoulder.
"I missed you too."
It took a whole minute before Ash calmed down a little. He wiped the tears on his face away. His eyes never lost sight of the lady in front of him. It was as if he was scared that the next second she would disappeared away from him.
"Where am I?" Ash asked.
Rea stood up and rubbed the young man's frizzled hair. She was around Ash's height. "You are in a place that you shouldn't be in for a long time."
"Why is that? I want to be with you, big sister Rea." This time, Ash gave the beautiful lady a proper hug. There was a rare genuine smile on the boy's face.
"You can't be here because of our promise. Do you remember it? Rea smiled back.
"Of course I remember! You told me.." At that moment, Ash's head cleared up slightly. He knew what his big sister was telling him, "You told me to live my life to the fullest. Not just for me… But, for you too…"
"Mhm… You are still many years too early from entering this place." Rea rubbed Ash's soft supple face. Her face was smiling as per normal.
"Life without big sister is really hard." Ash complained.
His head faced the ground in despondency. At the end of the day, he was always alone. The four years of university would eventually end and he would be back to his hitman life again.
It was only when the big sister of Ash squatted down so that she got look into young man's eyes, did he feel better again. "Ash… Everything is hard in the beginning. However, I can promise you that it will only get better from that point on."
"Okay.." The tears on Ash's face were wiped away by his sister in white. He nodded as he listened to what his big sister had said.
"Now, go on." Rea turned the boy around and guided him to the door that leaves the room, "Continue living your life to the fullest. Not just for you, but for me too…"
"Goodbye little brother…"
