The Final Decision

"Miss Hannah!"

"Oh my!" She said startled by the sudden intrusion as the glass slipped away from her hands, smashing on the floor with a loud shatter, pieces of glass surrounding the whole area.

"I'm so sorry." Adrienne said in a quiet voice sounding panicked.

"Ah, it's fine dear." She muttered hunching down picking the pieces one by one.

"Let me help!" She scurried, helping Hannah out before a sharp piece sliced one of her finger and she yelped in pain as blood started oozing out.

"Oh dear! I could have managed you shouldn't have helped. Now look what it had done." She exclaimed clasping her hand checking the wound.

"Gosh! It's just a small cut. I'm totally fine and it was my fault in the first place for scaring you." She muttered laughing before holding her tongue by the countenance Hannah gave her.

"Don't take it so plainly just because it's small. You might get infected and it would leave a scar. You have to take care of yourself!" Not again. She thought letting out a long sigh.

"Aren't you there for me?" Hannah's features suddenly relaxed giving Adrienne a gentle smile.

"I won't always be there for you Adrienne. You never know when I might-"

"Don't you start again!" She looked at her with sorrowful eyes as her lips quivered. Hannah looked taken aback by her sudden change of mood and lifted her hand placing it on Adrienne's cheek.

"Oh dear.. " and moved to give her a warm hug which she took willingly, tightening her hold on Hannah. "I won't" she said placing a kiss on her forehead as Adrienne closed her eyes enjoying the moment and lifted her head up giving Hannah a slight smile.

"Now come with me. We have to mend that up before it infects you."

"But-"

"-No more excuses!"

"Okay." With that she stood up after Hannah and started following behind her towards a nearby room.

"There you go." Hannah said patching her finger with a band-aid which Adrienne found unnecessary. Hannah turned to look on her way. "So then, why were you looking for me? Did you need me for something?" Adrienne looked at her furrowing her eyebrows in confusion before recollecting the reason behind these happening.

"Oh, yeah. I wanted to ask you something."

"Go ahead."

"Have you seen Eric, today?

"Um no, I didn't. But sir did call me to inform about his early morning flight so he left before I came. He has a bussiness trip for 3 weeks and won't be back until so. Why would you ask?"

"Ha n-nothing. I just wanted to know where he was." She said whilst laughing nervously and turned away standing up when Hannah lifted one of her eyebrows at her in question. "I guess it's time for me to get ready. Don't wanna be late!" She rushed out immediately, climbing stairs-finding her way straight to her room as she heard Hannah laughing downstairs and headed towards her bathroom shutting it close after getting inside.

'Oh god'. She didn't know what to tell her. Had not informed about the contest, only her friends knew. She did feel bad for keeping it out from her. She thought of informing about it when everything got settled. But she had yet to get his approval and now she didn't know how she was gonna accomplish that. She then proceeded doing her bussiness keeping aside her thought for the time being. Maybe she could just find a way somehow or she can just..

Shaking away that idea she got into the shower. After an hour or so she got fully dressed as she climbed down the stairs eating her breakfast hurriedly saying a 'bye' to Hannah before getting inside her arranged vehicle which took off-to her destination.

Reaching college she instantly headed for her class in search of her buddies. Spotting them among the crowd between their classmates as usual. She neared towards them and saw them heading towards her as they noticed Adrienne. They rushed towards her as they both grabbed her each hands dragging her away, out of the class.

"Guys slow down! Where are you taking me!?" She said, panting.

"Just shut up and follow us." Getting to the top of the building they let go of her and turned to look at her. "We are calling them now." Tanya gave her a demanding look.

"Wait wait, hold up. What is it about..! The registration?! Well I-"

"-Yes! And don't you dare come up with excuses. Tanya told me about your unawareness so we planned to do it for you and had been waiting for you to show up ever since. So.. here we go!" Leah shrieked dialling a number on her phone-putting it on speaker as it rang.

"Guys wait! Listen to..!" Adrienne came to a halt hearing a female voice and stood there blankly staring at them helpless. With that they took the initiative speaking on behalf of her for minutes before hanging up and turned towards her with a bright smile on their face. "What exactly did just happen?" She asked in disbelief.

"Well, we were just helping you out. And it's all done now! You don't have to worry about it anymore. Just focus on your practice." Tanya declared clapping her hands.

"And now, why would you do that! You didn't even ask if I was-"

"Girl chill! Cool down. It's just a registration. You don't have to get so worked up." Leah pronounced.

"Yeah" Tanya agreed sounding worried. They both looked at her with concern. Adrienne loosened up a little and announced before sighing.

"It's just.. I'll see you guys in a bit. And please don't follow behind, I need some time to think." She then walked out rushing her way towards the washroom. They turned to each other with puzzlement for a second before peering at her retreating frame.

Adrienne now stood staring at herself through the mirror pondering on the situation. Now there was no choice left. She could just cancel it if she wants but, remembering their thrilled faces made her think otherwise. Maybe she could just.. "Adrienne! Don't even think about it." She yelled scolding herself for having such a mischievous idea. She had informed Tanya and Leah that her father is an autere man so she needed some time to decide when they asked her what was resisting her from making the call on the day she got the notice, which she thought might last for at least some days but no, because of her recklessness it had become an issue and was left with just one day which had gone to waste by her own fault. Today she thought her friends would understand if she just refused in the name of her father but they didn't. Before she could even utter a word, it was all done. She was a bit mad at them for that but they only did it for her happiness so what choice did she have. She loved them too much to ever make them upset because of her and now she thought of giving into it. Since Eric isn't home and will take almost a month to come back, she could just go with the flow. No one would notice.

She smiled at herself waggishly on the plan before heading to her class.
