Breathing Lessons 2

(Robin's POV):

After some time, the others had finally went out from the barrier that Karl made. The first one who came out was Grace, she instantly felt the gravity change and dropped to the floor just like I did.

"W-what? T-the gravity!" - Grace

"Relax, it's just recoil after getting used to normal movement. We may have to train about the transition to gravity and non-gravity zones. Don't worry cause I also dropped and plopped my face to the ground."

"I-I see..." - Grace

"Well, let's wait for the others to arrive."

"Got it." - Grace

Grace sat down on a stool and waited for others to arrive.

"Say, who do you think would get out first?" - Grace

"I think it's either of them but if we're talking who will be first then I think it's Ridley."

"Why do you think so?" - Grace

"Well..."

"Ah, hey guy- Whoa!!" - Jay

Jay was the next one who got out and completely crushed my predictions. Doesn't matter since I also get to see his face drop down.

"What's with the gravity change..." - Jay

"Well, I'll tell you later."

"That's your prediction being off Robin. How does it feel screwing up your own prediction?" - Grace

"Come on, why even?"

"Ahahaha, well at least it's a great thing that we're going to get used to it." - Grace

"You guys might enjoy it but I am not going back to that biome once we're done there."

Jay sat down next to me in patience while waiting for the other two to head out. Ridley and Rylle may take a while because they're both assassins. However, I only instructed them to do only simple movement so I don't think they would take that long.

After some time, both of them got out of the barrier and splat their face on the floor. As expected since they were never expecting a sudden change of weight and just fell down quite instantly.

"I didn't... See that one coming..." - Ridley

"Yeah, I never expected that to happen..." - Rylle

"Well, it's because the boundary of the barrier and outside it has actually different properties. One such thing is that, when I adjust the gravity of the barrier in the inside, it will not change the outside so it will only stay in. Suddenly making a transition will actually cause you to feel a sudden gain in weight." - Karl

"We... Don't get it..." - Ridley

Ridley, and Rylle stared at Karl in a somewhat confused manner. Grace on the other hand is somewhat thinking a little deeply.

Don't worry guys, I'll translate...

"Well, in summary... The inside of the barrier is different from the outside."

"I see... So there were many tricks to using barriers huh?" - Grace

"Yes, and you can change up what kind of barrier will you have so you can use them offensively too." - Karl

"Mhm... I learned something today." - Grace

"Wait, how?!" - Jay

I currently have a feeling that Grace is a smart person and if I let her be with Karl... She'll most likely turn into a genius soon enough.

"Well, training's over for the day. I want everyone to meet up in this place one hour after lunch."

Everyone seems to have no complaints and responded well to my words. I turned to Karl and told him to shut off the barrier and rest up for the day.

"I'm gonna be relying on you for a while, is it fine?"

"Sure, I'm pretty much bored as of the moment so you don't have to worry about it." - Karl

"Thanks, I owe you one."

We both returned to our rooms for the time being. I was moving around the castle since I didn't have that much to do before dinner. I will bring them for that but I should let them rest for the time being.

"I guess I should restock on my bullets..."

I went back to my room and took multiple coins to head towards the spawn area. Since I'm heading alone I don't have to worry about time and use the Hermes boots that I use when travelling alone. After a few minutes, I arrived towards the spawn area and started moving around the place.

Every few minutes of walking around, there would be a bunch of people watching me for some reason and think that I will be some guy who can give free money. However, one searing blade out and they're instantly going to shut up.

After some time, I had arrived towards the building that has the gunslinger in it that's selling a huge amount of bullets. This is where I try to restock whenever I'm running out.

"Silver bullets, enough for three platinum coins."

"Three platinum? Then you can have that box over there. It contains about fifty patches each having fifty bullets." - Gunslinger

"Two thousand and five-hundred? And a free box with pouches then sure."

I pushed the three platinum coins towards the gunslinger and he took it all with a light smile.

"Glad doing business with ya regular." - Gunslinger

I took the box and hid it in the inventory before setting off and returning towards the castle. I managed to arrive there about an hour before dinner.

"Hmm... What else..."

I placed the box inside my room and took three pouches. I will need a bunch more later but I guess a hundred and fifty bullets are enough but I'll need more than that when going to space.

"I'll come back later I guess."

I went around towards the rooms of Jay and the others and try to check up on them. They seem to be grouped up in Jay's room so I entered it for the time being.

"Yo, how's everyone right now?"

"Ah, Robin! We're actually just playing poker, want to join?" - Jay

"Sure, we'll be heading to the dining hall soon enough for dinner so I'll just remind you guys while we're playing."

"Aight, I'll deal then." - Grace

Grace gave us the cards and tried to prepared her own cards. I took a look on mine and it's not actually pretty decent.

"Fold."

"Already?!" - Grace

"Never expected that have you?"

"N-no, I never expected something like that..." - Grace

The other three started playing poker on their own in a slow pace and try to increase their bets or so. I folded because I already knew I have no hope if I have completely nothing.

After the game, which Ridley won by a landslide. I notified them that dinner was about to be finished making and if I remember correctly, the ones cooking these would be Seymour, Allen, and all of the girls. We arrived to the dining hall and I sat next to them to ensure they don't feel uncomfortable. They didn't talk much during dinner but we had finished it pretty quickly.

After that, they immediately returned to their rooms and I decided to let them be and rest for the time being.

"I guess we should continue tomorrow..."

Next Day:

We immediately met each other at the dining hall where we're having breakfast. Seymour who took notice gave me something that will energize me along with the members I'm in charge with.

"This is nice, we can get ourselves to practice immediately."

"Yeah, I want everything to be done pretty quickly here..." - Jay

Jay who was sitting next to me seems to be a little bit down and is not exactly in a shape to be happy. It's not because he's sad but actually he seems to be impatient.

"What's wrong? Proactive?"

"I want to be able to reunite with Kaede pretty soon... I don't want to leave her with that toxic cunt." - Jay

Pretty aggressive there... But Lester might've done some terrible things to Gayle so I would understand Jay in this case...

After breakfast, we immediately went to the spot where we once trained and continued our training. After some time, we're finally able to master the intermediate movements and simple combat. The limited air makes it entirely difficult for everyone but we managed to get used to it well. This time, nobody plopped down to the ground because of the sudden transition but Jay did kneel down from the sudden change of gravity.

"Ah, don't rush it Jay..."

"Thanks Robin..." - Jay

I helped Jay up and tapped his shoulder for his hardwork.

"Alright, since we pretty much spent our time before lunch very well do you guys want to continue for advanced movements later or tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow should be good..." - Grace

"Yeah, I think tomorrow..." - Ridley

"Sure, tomorrow it is." - Rylle

Jay didn't have a response but he was thinking pretty deeply.

"I want to finish everything by this day..." - Jay

"Hardworking much? There's no need to rush you know?"

"R-right, but Kaede..." - Jay

That level of determination in Jay somewhat made me feel like we should continue the training later. He finally found where his goal is, he will not hold back just to attain it.

"What about you guys? Willing to join?"

"Yeah, let's get everything done by today then." - Grace

After lunch, we gave ourselves a short rest to prevent overworking and possibility of stat ailments due to unhealthy behavior. We then spent the entire afternoon constantly training and Karl pretty much agreed to stay with us as our facilitator and maintaining everyone to be in good shape. As such, we managed to complete advanced and the difficult tricks that is basically even rough for me.

After spending time mastering all forms of movement and combat, we pretty much ended the entire training session before midnight hit. Needless to say everyone was pretty exhausted but Jay doesn't seem to be feeling that bad. Karl was a little tired with the constant usage of mana so he told us that he's heading back to his room immediately.

"Aight, so everyone... Meet up with me in the dining hall tomorrow. Good job and let's get a huge amount of rest for tomorrow. We're beginning the journey."

"Got it." - Jay

The others nodded in exhaustion while Jay was the only one that actually seems to be fine.

We all went back to our rooms but I waited for everyone to sleep before I snuck to Jay's room.
