Chapter 6: A Trouble with the mind

Third Person P.O.V

As the world was hanging onto one demon lord to save the world, he has problems with himself. Whatever is happening, it looks like Jonathan is is slowly dying inside of him, sucking his life away. Day and nights go by as he didn't wake up and Emilia decided to observe his brain and see what he's seeing and as it turns out, Jonathan is fighting... himself?

"It looks like he's fighting himself." she claimed

"Who is this imposter?! I will kill him and set Lord Nazfall free!" Albedo shouted as she grabs an axe, ready for battle.

"We can't go in unfortunately." she said in a sad tone

"WHAT?!" they all shouted

They were in shocked but how is the army still intact and what happens if he dies?! No, he can't die! He's the demon lord that is destined to save the world from threats like the witch cult. He can't die!!

Jonathan's P.O.V

I was getting beaten up by my demon self as I tried my best to pull myself together

"You're not going anywhere!" it shouted at me as it used cast a spell on me

I casted a crucio spell on him and it was a clash between two elder wands. The vibration was too powerful that we had to hold the wands with both of our hands. It looked like stalemate so it then proceeded to stop the clash continue to cast spells on me as so did I as we continuously casting spells at each other non-stop. I wished that this never happened. This thing said that it consumed people's soul after they did not do what they are needed to do. It wasn't my fault for being a hero! I was chosen to be a hero not destined or needed! I DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO BE HERE AT THE FIRST PLACE!!! Why?! why am I still here when I could've just relax on my apartment where everything was normal! Then, a surge of memories started filling in

"If you went back to the real world, will you let me come with you and never leave me?"

Oh yeah, the promise I made for raphtalia and then a crucio spell hit me and it feels like a hundreds of knives just shank me over and over again as the evil me looks with a smirk and crouches down

"See? You can't beat me, I'm you and I think of every move you think!" he said and casted it again and then takes out his tentacles from his back

"What are you, slender man?" I sarcastically asked as I got up

"Fool, this will suck all of your emotions!" it said

I lost all hope before I heard someone singing a song that I hold dear as they appear one by one.

The being was shocked after the whole room was singing the song

"Can you hear them? All of these people who've lived in terror of you and your judgement? All these people whose ancestors devoted themselves, sacrificed themselves, to you. Can you hear them singing?" I told him as I weakly got up

"What are you doing?" it asked but I didn't answer

"Oh, you like to... think that you're a god. But you're not a god. You're just a parasite eaten out with jealousy and envy and longing for the lives of others. You feed on them. On the memory of love and loss and birth and death and joy and sorrow. So, come on, then. Take mine. Take my memories. But I hope you've got a big appetite." I said while opening my arms to let him take everything.

as soon as it sink it's tentacles in my back, it's feels something that it didn't feel a long time ago.

" I walked away from a past that I should've stayed. I'm the only last surviving members of my family and no one even cared for me! I saw my sister hanged herself when I asked her just 10 minutes ago and I watched as my parents crashed their car, moment by moment, until nothing remained. No family. No life. Just me." I said as the pulse grew stronger and it became weak

"STOP!!" It begged but I kept going

"I walked through bigger hell's then you can even fucking imagine and I bet you're ass that you haven't seen hell yet! I've watched as my brother dies by a robbery at my fucking hands! I've seen things you wouldn't believe. I have lost things you will never understand. And I know things, I know that you will never understand pain, sorrow, misery, lost, love, happiness and the feeling of being alone forever so come ooon, then. Take it! Take it all, baby! Have it! YOU HAVE IT ALL!!!!" I shouted as I release all my emotions as he glows brightly before exploding.

I then fell to my knees and hear the song to an bright opening. I slowly crawled to the opening and when I touched it, I woke up and saw Raphtalia sleeping beside me. I smiled and kissed her in the forehead

"Sorry." I whispered to her as I fell asleep.
