Dingdong! The bell rang loudly, signifying the end of the class.
Nana walked towards the basic magic class and waited for Emilia to walk out. She waited and waited after fifteen minutes Emilia still did not walk out.
"Excuse me, have you seen Emilia?" Nana asked a passing student who walked out of the classroom.
"Emilia?" Robert scratched his head in confusion.
Wth, she didn't even introduce herself to anyone? "Uhh...Silver hair, likes to stare out of the window."
Nana described.
"Oh! You mean the student who got kicked out!" Robert exclaimed.
Nana's eye twitched uncontrollably.
"Kicked out? This junior here, can you tell me what happened?"
"Uhh...The professor was teaching us to meditate but she did not listen. Furthermore when she was scolded she did not even respond. Enraged, the professor kicked her out of the class to make matters worse, the professor forbid her to attend her classes." Robert explained.
Nana felt like fainting. She had even reminded Emilia to listen earlier, what was this mess right now?
Robert evaluated Nana's reaction.
"Senior, are her relative or friend?" Robert asked seeing Nana's corcerned reaction.
"Well you can say that we're like sisters. I apologize, I haven't asked your name yet." Nana said.
"I'm Robert."
"Nana, well, nice to meet you, I have to go look for Emilia now." Nana said before leaving.
Robert did a small nod at Nana's departing figure, he could not help but find himself enchanted by this senior.
Earlier he took note of the fire emblem on Nana's robes. This made him full of determination to get into the fire school.
"I must have an affinity for fire and get into the fire school." Robert thought to himself.
Little did he know that elemental affinity was already decided from birth.
"Emilia!" Nana exclaimed as she saw Emilia walking towards her. Nana knew it was pointless to search for Emilia therefore she opted to wait for her in front of her dorm.
"If only gadjets were allowed in the academy, I wouldn't have waited here." Nana grumbled. In order for students to focus on becoming magicians, the acadamy banned gadjects of all sorts.
"You got kicked out! Heavens! It's only the first class!" Nana exclaimed. "How are you going to pass your first examination? Do you want to be expelled?" Nana continued.
Emilia replied with a blank look before smiling. Then, she materialized two small mana balls that floats around Nana.
"This is your answer? You little brat, just because you're talented doesn't mean you have to flaunt!" Nana scolded in mock anger.
Emilia gave a thin smile in return.
"Do you know how long it took me to even draw out my mana? 3 and a half weeks! Even then my mana ball were weak and unsteady, wanting to dissipate the next moment, it was only worth 1 degree of mana!" Nana said. "And here you are, even when we were kids you could already draw out more than 10 degrees of mana. Tell me how many can you draw out now?" Nana asked in a slightly hushed tone.
Emilia continued to smile but did not reply.
"You!" Nana wanted to faint out of anger. This was the result of anyone who wanted to speak with Emilia, they would get so frustrated from her bland replies that they would want to claw their hair out.
"Forget it. Just remember not to show off too much at the 1st examination. Geniuses are often targeted." Nana reminded.
Emilia's expression darkened before clearing out again and nodded.
The next day,
"Urghh..so glad history is over." A tall muscular boy with light brown hair groaned.
"Haha..It's not THAT bad." Robert said.
The both of them walked out of the class and strolled towards the cafeteria while chatting about their studies.
"You're kidding...how does Professor Lienel expect us to memorize the exact dates and names of spacecrafts that were lost during the escape." The boy said.
"Nevermind you're right..it sucks. By the way Oliver, have you managed to gather mana from your surroundings yet? Professor Mina said she was going to check up on our progress today." Robert reminded.
"I haven't even felt the mana particles, how am I supposed to draw them in? Not to mention, materialize a mana ball. I'm so going to fail the first examination." Oliver complained.
"You have to work hard, don't fail the first examination, it may very well decide your fate in the academy. I heard those who fail are thrown into the B class where the teaching quality and resources are subpar." Robert minded.
"I wish I was as talented as you. You will definitely reach the S class." Oliver said, seemingly fawning over his friend.
"Haha." Robert laughed awkardly.
"Speaking of which, I really felt so bad for the student that got kicked out yesterday. She's destined to fail the exam." Oliver said.
When speaking of Emilia, Robert was reminded of the his Senior, the fire magician Nana. His heart throbbed unknowingly.
"I'll work hard and get to the S class and become a fire magician." Robert said, full of determination.
