Chapter 5

A soft knock snaps me out of my sorrow. I look at the door and sigh. "I'm in." I call out.

"David, is us. Open up." I hear Debbie say.

"Go away." I say monotonously sniffing at the end of my sentence.

"I'm sorry if I said something that hurt you. We're both sorry." Jacob say.

I got up and unlock the door staring at my feet while wiping my eyes.

"We're sorry." Debbie blurts.

"Is not you guys." I say.

"We shouldn't have said it so bluntly." Jacob say.

I sigh. "When I was going to class this morning I met Josh." I sniff.

"Josh? And what happened?" Jacob ask his brows furrowed same with Debbie.

I raise my sweet vest and the shirt beneath revealing the bruises and Debbie gasp. I tuck in and wait.

"He did that to you?" Jacob clench his fist as I nod.

"The son of bitch!" He spit as he came closer to me and brush my hair.

"I'll kill him!" He growl.
