Magical Birthday

It was weird that Jules didn't complain to Francis, that I knocked her out… but I considered it a good sign, even though she hadn't been looking for me a very long time.

My birthday morning came. When I got up the bed was empty next to me. I was looking for Dereck, but I couldn't find him anywhere. There was a wonderful breakfast place setting on the table with my favorite dishes. Hazelnut cream croassons, cookies, fried bacon with boiled eggs, fresh cheese bread, fruits, vegetables, coffee, tea and much more… and a rose with a note.

'Good morning darling! Have breakfast and come to SEA Life Aquarium! I love you!'

He seems to have planned an active birthday. I had breakfast, put on a black jeans with a black half-shoe and a comfortable yet elegant blue blouse. I put my hair together, picked up my small bag, and walked away. I was excited, because I haven't been in the aquarium for a long time… plus Dereck told me about a window where you could see the sharks very well.

When I got there, I didn't see him anywhere. I tried to call, but his phone was turned off.

"Maybe he is waiting inside… after all… in an aquarium, it's quite romantic to have a proposal…"

I smiled, bought a ticket and went inside. I was excited to look for the familiar male figure, but I couldn't find him.

"Maybe he'll be at the window he told me about."

I walked toward the sharks, moving slowly… admiring the view of the aquarium, as I paid for it, it is given that i have to enjoy it… plus if he made me walke that much, he should just wait. Dereck was nowhere to be found. Disappointed, I walked over to the glass and then found a rose at the base of the instruction board with a sticky note.

"Do I look like Sherlock Holmes?"

I picked up the flower and opened the small leaf.

'You're good, you have a great memory. Now come to Hyde Park by our bench.'

„Are you having fun ?!"

It seemed like it will be a very long day… luck that I did not come in high heels.

I took a taxi to the park where after a pleasant walk I reached the bench. I was already refined and immediately looking for the flower. It was attached to the bottom of the bench.

"It's good that it wasn't the first station, because I never would have found it."

This time there was a free lunch coupon next to the note to a nearby restaurant.

' Eat something delicious!'

It stood in the message.

So I went to have lunch. When I handed over the coupon in the restaurant, I was taken to a table where another rose was waiting in the vase. The note was labeled as follows:

'London Eye, password: champagne.'

I have to admit, this little guided trip came in very handy. It was an experience to unfold every note and I was excited to see where I was going from there. Dereck is really creative … I'm so lucky.

' Right, smart, funny, rich ... if you are even loyal… you may not be real. '

With this in mind, I reached my destination, where after I mentioned the password, I was led to a rented cabin.

I had the whole cabin for myself, with champagne, caviar, cocktail shrimp, strawberries… I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, only here I didn't get the luxury suite of the hotel, but the whole city… It was a wonderful sight.

As the rays of the sun shone through the buildings… the panorama was of indescribable beauty. Suddenly some music started… There was a small speaker in the cabin that sounded then. The 10 things I hate about you were my favorite movie… and my favorite scene when Heath Ledger sings in the stands… Can't take my eyes off you… Dereck sang the song… his voice wasn't perfect, but the gesture itself was invaluable made the moment… I felt i was smiling tht much, that my mouth reach to my ears, while tears flowed in streams… it was the most beautiful gift I have ever received.

The procession was just coming to an end when I remembered that I had forgotten to look for a flower. Above my head was a rose with a title and a card with a picture of a golden scissors on it.

„I think the next stop."

I sat in a taxi and handed the address to the driver. It was a casual clothing store.

„Good afternoon! How can I help you? „

The seller approached me.

"Good day…"

I handed over the card in fear… I didn't really understand the situation, because it was a very expensive store… I think even the queen would turn a corner at the sight of these prices.

„ Ah, please follow me!"

Smiling, she escorted me to the booth, where I had already been accompanied by an evening dress and shoes.

"I'll send your clothes with the courier, as the gentleman asked."

„I see, thank you. „

In great embarrassment, I didn't even know I had to wear the dress. So Dereck had already prepared everything in advance.

The fiery red evening overlap, cut to the middle of the thighs was breathtaking… in vain, it is no coincidence that this store is so expensive…

"You could have said I was going to wear a house-worthy dress ... then maybe I'm not going with a ponytail and zero makeup."

I said to myself.

„You are beautiful in this dress!"

„ Thank you. „

Blushing, I tolerated a lock of hair.

„Then I'll escort you to the beauty salon now…"

„ Hah…I didn't say a word…"

„ Please? „

The seller turned back.

„ Nothing."

I waved a little confused , what had I think? Since who could, if the the marketing director would not be able to organize such an evening perfectly.

The hairdresser made a loose bun from the wavy curls and I got a beautiful smoky makeup. It was solid and infinitely professional. In both stores, the service was paid for in advance, which I found strange, was that I didn't get a rose.

Leaving the store, a taxi was waiting, where the driver had already opened the door for me. I sat in, and there was the already missing flower, a note.

„Top floor."

By this time it was getting dark, and the taxi had taken me to a fairly high-quality, panoramic restaurant.

„I wish you a good evening!"

The waiter greeted.

"With your permission, I would show you your table."

„Thank you very much."

We went to the elevator and the waiter pressed the button on the top floor. It will be the real deal… I felt my heart then jump out of place… at the table already surely Dereck will be sitting.

But I was wrong again. We got up, and as I stepped out of the elevator, the door closed behind me and the waiter disappeared.

I stood there alone, in an empty restaurant. Noone was there.

„ Maybe I misunderstood something?"

I walked toward the huge windows, a in confusion. Once I saw something red on the ground.

„A rose!"

I hurried over and picked it up from the ground.

„So this isn't the last stop."

I unpacked the note a little disappointed… it would have been really romantic to have dinner here with Dereck…

„Look out the window."

The note said.

„ Hah?"

As I looked up, all the lights in the restaurant went off.

And a play of light appeared on the wall of the huge office building opposite me. The patterns and words followed one another.

' … WILL… YOU… MARRY… ME…?'

As I saw it, the last rose fell out of my hand and, my hands touched my face. I didn't want to believe it.

The lights turned on and Dereck stood beside me. He got down on his knees, and I put my hand in front of my mouth, trying to cover the smile that stretched between my red cheeks.

„ I know you can read… but for safety's sake I'll ask the question."

I laughed to myself, and he pulled out a small jewelry box with a huge diamond ring.

"Sophie Miller, will you marry me?"

He looked at me with his beautiful eyes, and I couldn't hold back the tears anymore. I wanted to say yes, but the voice just couldn't come out, so I just nodded as I tried to save my makeup with one hand and held out the other for the ring.

He pulled it up on my finger, then stood up, I pulled it up on him, and kissed him.

Then a cloud of confetti and balloons swept the restaurant, and my family and friends stepped forward applauding. The waiters brought the cake, while everyone sang "Happy Birthday".

While everyone congratulated, the restaurant staff was laid out and the buffets were also unveiled. When I was finally able to speak, all I had to say was:

„Thank you."

"Don't say thank you…"

Dereck said while measuring me in this dress.

"You're gonna pay for this when we eget home…with your body."

We laughed at ourselves even though I knew he wasn't kidding…

I think I can safely say that it was a really magical birthday.
