Part 15

Third Person's POV

At noon, the boys finally decided to return to their houses. Justen got up reluctantly and Josh took care of the blankets but still left one for Justen. The boys walked to Josh's truck with Justen getting in the passenger seat and Josh getting into the driver's seat. Once they were both in the truck, Josh started it up and drove down the road.

"You know, I had fun last night," Justen said, holding on to the blanket Josh left out.

"I did too," Josh said, keeping his eyes on the road.

"We should do it again sometime," Justen said.

"We should, shouldn't we?" Josh said.

"Next time though, I'm surprising you," Justen said.

"What, going to attach a wagon to your little pedal bike?" Josh asked with a smirk.

"At least my pedal bike gets me places," Justen said.

"That's true. But it can't keep you warm," Josh said.

Justen just rolled his eyes.

After a few minutes, Josh pulled into the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant.

"Hungry?" he asked.

"Starved," Justen said.

Josh turned his truck off and got out with Justen following suit.

They walked into the restaurant without saying a word until they were at the front of the line.

"How can I help you?" Josh's friend, Cameron, asked.

"Can I get a burger meal?" Josh asked.

"Yup. And for you?" Cameron asked Justen.

"I'll just take a large fry with a medium drink," Justen said.

"Is that seriously all you want?" Josh asked. "I thought you said you were starving."

"I was being sarcastic," Justen said.

"Okay," Josh said.

"Will that be all then?" Cameron asked.

"Yeah," Josh said.

"Your total is $10.75," Cameron said as Josh pulled his wallet out.

Josh handed Cameron the money and Cameron handed Josh his change and two cups.

"Name?" Cameron asked.

"Josh," Josh said as he and Justen took their cups and filled them up with their favorite drinks.

"Pepsi, really?" Justen asked once Josh had filled his cup up.

"Yeah, what are you getting?" Josh asked.

"I like to be daring," Justen said before filling his cup up with all the flavors mixed together.

"That's disgusting," Josh said.

"It's actually pretty good," Justen said. "Do you want to try it?"

"I'm just going to take your word for it," Josh said, absolutely disgusted in Justen's drink.

"Your loss not mine," Justen said, putting the straw into the lid and taking a big drink.

"Josh, you're meal is ready," a male's voice called out.

Josh went up to the counter and took his and Justen's food without a word.

"Where are we going to sit?" Justen asked, taking another drink out of his cup.

"Here," Josh said, finding a table for two.

The boys sat down and Josh gave Justen his food.

"Are you sure you just want those?" Josh asked.

"Yup," Justen said, popping a fry into his mouth.

What the two didn't know though is that Ryan and the rest of Josh's ex-friends were outside waiting for Josh and Justen.

"He thinks he's so much better than us," Ryan told Nathan.

"Okay, but I do have to admit we were a little too rough on Josh," Nathan said.

"No, we weren't," Harrison said. "I actually don't think we were rough enough on him."

"If we were rougher on him, Josh wouldn't have had the balls to stand up to us," Liam said.

"So we're going to beat him up for it?" Nathan asked, thinking he was the only one who saw the bad in the situation.

"Duh," Ryan said.

"I kinda agree with Nathan," Carter said. "We shouldn't beat him up because he stood up to Ryan and Liam."

"Whatever," Ryan said. "That doesn't change what we're going to do though."

"Yeah, we're going to beat them until they can't get back up," Landon said.

"Whoa, pause," Nathan said. "When have you been into violence?"

"I don't know, I guess it's always been inside me," Landon said.

"Guys, are Nathan and I the only people who see this as wrong?" Carter asked.

"Oh my gosh just shut up!" Ryan said.

"Look, they're getting up," Jordan said.

"That was fast, they literally just got there," Harrison said.

"Josh probably couldn't finish his food," Nathan said. "I've noticed that he doesn't eat much."

"Shut up!" Ryan snapped. "They're walking outside."
