Ghost POV

"Ghost..." whispered someone.

I looked around but all I saw was total darkness.

I walked towards a random direction and saw a mirror up ahead. I looked into it and saw myself, but when I was 11.

"Son..." whispered what sounded like a female voice.

I turned around and saw something I never wanted to see.

"Mom?"

My mom was there, laying down on the floor on a puddle of blood. There are bruises everywhere and blood flowing out on some parts of her body.

I quickly ran to her and picked her up. My clothes immediately became drenched with her blood, including my hands.

"Mom it's going to be okay mom." I cried, tears flowing down.

"Run..." whispered mom as she slowly started to fade.

"Mom no please stay with me please I need you! DON'T LEAVE ME MOM PLEASE YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS HELL ANYMORE SO PLEASE STAY WITH ME!" I cried, but she disappeared, as if she was never here.

I looked back at the mirror and saw that I was in my old combat uniform.

"Ghost.." this time a bunch of voices were heard all at once.

I turned around again but this time I saw my old comrades all standing in a straight line.

"You guys are all here." I said.

"Come on man, we always got your back." said Aid. "Where you go we'll all go."

I ran to them and hugged Aid as the rest came into a group hug.

"I missed you guys." I said while crying.

But I looked up and they were all gone.

"NOOOO! WHY GOD DAMMIT WHY!" I yelled into the complete darkness.

"Ajax..." whispered another female.

I turned around and nearly fell down to my knees. There she was, the love of my life, the reason why I continued to fight in this goddamn world.

"Emily?" I slowly approached her and cupped her cheeks.

"I missed you Ajax." she said putting her hand on top of mine and nudging her cheek against my hand.

"I'm sorry for not being able to save you." I said.

Instead of responding she kissed me. Her soft lips that I haven't felt in a long time pressed onto mine.

"I love you Ajax." she said

I smiled as tears began to fall down my cheeks. However she began to slowly fade away.

"No no no no! NOT YOU TOO PLEASE I CAN'T CONTINUE THIS WITHOUT YOU PLEASE I NEED YOU PLEASE! WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITHOUT YOU!" I cried holding her hand.

"I love you Ajax and I'll be there for you." said Emily as she completely disappeared.

"NOOOOOOO!"

Eren's POV

I woke up around 6 am and got dressed so I can go out and get some fresh air. As I opened the door I saw Annie walking out of her room too.

"Morning Annie" I said while yawning.

"Morning." replied Annie.

"Why are you up so early?" I asked.

"Just to get some fresh air." replied Annie.

"Wanna go for a walk then?"

She seemed to think about it for a moment before answering.

"Sure." said Annie.

We walked out into the chilly cold morning, the sun wasn't out yet so we walked on a path that led us to the woods.

"Isn't it crazy knowing that we were just a bunch of test subjects." I said.

"Pisses me off just thinking about." said Annie.

"Me too, but, we were trained to kill titans, but now we're getting trained to kill people." I said.

"Yea."

"I mean I did kill 2 men before." I mumbled.

"You did?" asked Annie with a surprised look.

"I had to in order to save Mikasa." I said.

"I guess that's okay then." said Annie.

"How can you say that?" I asked.

"You did it to save Mikasa because she was kiddnapped right?" said Annie. "Of course killing is a bad thing but in this case it's... avoidable to get penalized."

I looked down feeling guilty for taking away their lives. As we continued walking we were on top of a cliff and we saw a huge body of water.

Annie elbowed me and I turned to see her pointing at something. I looked and saw someone sitting down looking towards the mountains that were nearby.

We slowly and quietly approached that person.

"You don't have to go sneaking around on me." said the person turning around revealing to be Captain Ghost.

He wasn't wearing his gear, instead had a t shirt, shorts, a hat, a necklace with a bunch of dog tags and a bandanna covering his lower part of his face. Without his mask I noticed an eye scar on his left eye.

"Sorry sir." I apologized.

"Don't worry about it." He replied turning back towards the mountains.

We were about to leave but he told us to stay.

"You wanted fresh air didn't you." asked Ghost.

"Yes sir." I replied.

I noticed he had a pistol and a knife next to a picture.

"So, how does it feel?" he asked.

"What do you mean?" asked Annie.

"To figure out the truth about something that completely changed your life."

"Pisses me off." said Annie.

Ghost looked at Annie.

"You remind me of my old friend." said Ghost sighing.

"Phantom?" I asked.

"No, Recon." replied Ghost. "And did Kit tell you about me?"

"Uhh yes sir." I replied.

Ghost sighed and looked up into the sky.

"So you must know who Recon is then, right?"

"Yes sir." replied Annie.

He picked up the picture and gave it to us. I took it and looked at it with Annie.

"Is this Ghost team 116?" asked Annie.

"Yea." replied Ghost.

"Why do they kind of look like your current squad." asked Annie.

"I don't know probably because they are all hiding their appearance. They look different without the mask." said Ghost.

"Then why do you have that gun and knife? They both look like you designed it." I asked.

"The gun belongs to my mother. She gave it to me before she died, and the knife belongs to Phantom." he replied.

We sat there in a moment of silence. Then I saw the sun coming over the mountains.

"Beautiful..." said Annie.

I looked at her as she continued to look at the sun. The sun was slowly rising over the mountains shining bright making the water below glitter and shine.

"Yea..." I replied.

Annie turned and looked at me and I felt my cheeks turn red as the blood rushed into my cheeks. She seemed to notice and cracked a small smile which surprised me a bit even though I saw here smile before but I smiled back warmly making her cheeks shade a bit of pink.

"Get back to your dorms and get ready but don't put on your gear, just your combat uniform. And tell the others." he said while getting up and walking off into the woods in another direction with his stuff.

We both started heading back to our dorms. By the time we got there most of our friends were up and getting ready.

"I'll see you later Jaeger." said Annie walking off towards her room.

I quickly did my business, got dressed and waited outside with the others.

"Damn three years of training all went to waste." groaned Reiner.

"I have to admit that." I replied.

We heard footsteps approaching and turned to see Javelin walking toward us.

"Follow me." She said.

We all followed her in silence. We ended up on a platform where the things the Sentinels call aircrafts land such as helicopters, planes, jets, etc.

"What are we doing here?" asked Sasha.

"Shut up and just wait." hissed Javelin.

Sasha shut up and waited. After waiting 5 minutes we noticed an osprey aircraft approaching the landing zone. When it came closer the wind started to pick up and dirt and pebbles started to fly around. We covered our eyes to prevent anything from going into our eyes.

When it landed the deck opened and out came some people we recognized immediately.

"Isn't that Captain Levi of the Scout Regiment?" asked Armin shocked.

"And that's commander Smith." said Eren.

Right behind Levi and Erwin were Hange, Moblit, Mike, Nanaba, Levi Squad, and two MPs. They approached us and greeted us, they still had their scout uniform on.

"I'm 2nd Lieutenant Javelin of Ghost team 117. Please follow me so you can talk to our commander." said Javelin.

We all followed Javelin when a small jeep passed by dropping off Kit, Juggernaut, Hacker and Bomber.

"So these are the newcomers?" asked Juggernaut.

"I guess." replied Hacker.

"Ooooo what's that on your eye! It looks like a good testing tool." said Hange while walking up towards Hacker but was immediately held back by Moblit.

"What the fuck?" laughed Bomber.

"Sorry she's a mad scientist so she's just fascinated about this." said Moblit holding back Hange.

"Lets get going, you don't want to be late, especially with Captain Ghost." said Kit.

We continued our way and went into a small building. Inside waiting was a Marksman, a guy with a different uniform and another man with a suit who they never met before. The man in they suit had a mustache that was well trimmed and had a nice hair cut.

"Good morning I hope you enjoyed the flight." said the man. "I am Governor Johnson and I am the Commander of the Sentinels."

"I am Commader Erwin Smith of the Scout Regiment." said Erwin.

"Captain Levi."

"Section Commander Hange."

"Squad Leader Mike."

"Executive officer Moblit."

"Nanaba."

"Marlowe."

"Hitch."

"Petra."

"Oluo."

"Eld."

"Gunther."

Ghost came into the office with his gear on which confused me because he told me to not wear our gear. He seemed pissed off about something.

"Ahh Captain Ghost it nice of you to show up." said Governor Johnson.

"What are they doing here?" growled Ghost which scared me.

"They'll out there with you." said Johnson.

"I'm not allowing that nor am I even going to take a single one of them." replied Ghost.

"Well you have to and you need to show some respect to your superiors." said Johnson.

"I don't give a damn whether or not you're a superior." replied Ghost

"Are you defying my orders?" asked Johnson

"Orders?! Your orders were the reason why I lost 50 men if it weren't for your stupidity and selfishness they could have all lived but because of you their lives are all gone and now you expect me to follow your fucking orders?! HUH?!" yelled Ghost. "These people are merely recruits who were trained to lol titans not fucking human beings!"

Marksman rushed up to Ghost and and put his hand on his shoulder which seemed to calm down. He backed up but was still glaring at him.

"I'm not trying to lose countless men." said Ghost.

Johnson looked a bit troubled but then opened up his briefcase and took out a file of papers and gave it to Ghost.

"Orders from the President." said Johnson.

Ghost looked at the papers and nearly crumbled up the paper.

"Is it possible for me to not take them?" asked Ghost.

"No, they have to go too." said Johnson.

"When is it?" asked the man in the different uniform.

"Well we were originally going to execute it 2 weeks later, but we decided to give you guys 2 months." said Johnson. "I'm sorry for what I've done 2 years ago and to be honest I really didn't want to give it to you. But I think this may have to do something with them."

Ghost looked at all of us and sighed.

"I... accept this mission." said Ghost.

Javelin's POV

"Fuck me." said Juggernaut.

"This mission is suicide." said Hacker.

"Even though the amount of soldiers we are bringing is enough they are just a bunch of rookies." said Bomber

"Basically a 7 men team against an entire battalion." I replied.

"At least we have air support from our man Echo." said Kit.

"The enemy might have their Air Force with them and even if they didn't it wouldn't do much help if they all just charged at us." replied Hacker.

"Damn, I didn't think it'll end this way." said Bomber.

To be honest I didn't want to die, especially not when I didn't get to confess my feelings.

Annie's POV

"Why are they sending us into battle?" asked Jean.

"Not just any kind of mission, a top secret and suicidal mission with barely any chance of survival." said Jean.

We were all on the training grounds with the scout regiment members who got changed into the combat uniform, waiting for Ghost to arrive.

"So you're the titan boy." said Levi.

"Yes sir." said Eren.

"And you three are the enemies aren't you?" said Erwin.

I looked down upon guilt.

"But they are on our side now." said Eren.

I looked up to see Eren standing up for the three of us. I couldn't help but crack a smile at the sight of that.

Marksman came to our group with a stressed look in his eye.

"Go back to your dorms." said Marksman.

"Wait we're not training?" asked Armin.

"You guys have the day off, we are going through some shit."

I was confused, it was like as if they don't care for us.

"Besides, training or not, it won't make a difference. You guys won't survive." said Marksman.

I saw Eren getting mad and ran towards Marksman. He tried tackling him but Marksman moved to the side and tripping him.

"Eren!" cried Mikasa running towards him but Reiner stopped her.

Eren got up and went in for a right punch. Marksman dodged towards his left and palmed fist Eren making him fall back a few feet.

Before Eren could get up Marksman pointed his gun at Eren making him stay still. I desperately wanted to help but I knew the consequences.

"I can kill you right here right now and I wouldn't give a damn about it." said Marksman.

He lowered his gun and continued to walk on his own way.

"Damn I hate that guy." Growled Eren as Mikasa helped him.

"Me too." agreed Mikasa.

"You know what I'm going to train on my own with or without them." said Eren as he went to the shooting range.

I followed him and he turned around and looked surprised to see me.

"Why are you following me?" asked Eren.

"You're not the only one that's going to train." I said. "I don't want to die on the battlefield."

"Neither do any of us." said Jean walking with the everyone.

"We are going to prove to them that we are soldiers." said Reiner.

Eren smiled and continued walking towards the shooting range. We began practicing shooting while Armin and Marco are explaining to the Scouts how to shoot the guns.

While we were practicing I saw Ghost team 117 approaching the shooting range. We all stopped and looked at them.

"So I guess they passed my first test of having the mindset of survival." said Ghost.

"What test?" said Eren clearly while glaring at Marksman.

"I told Marksman to intimidate you to see if you were willing to fight for your life." said Ghost.

I was dumbfounded, so basically he was just testing us.

"And all of you wanted to prove Marksman wrong so you are all training, am I correct?" asked Ghost.

We all nodded in response.

"Not bad." said Ghost.

"But I meant what I said." said Marksman while looking at Eren.

"Ghost team help them." said Ghost.

"Yes sir."

Ghost turned and left while the rest helped us. Marksman saw that Sasha had good accuracy and taught her how to use a sniper.

Juggernaut helped Reiner who was being taught how to use a big gun.

Javelin was helping me and Mikasa know how to switch to our secondary weapon fast if we run out of ammo in our primary guns.

Eren was being taught by Kit.

Armin and Bertholdt were taught how to shoot and use the computer and radio to contact others.

Connie was being taught how to use a grenade launcher.

The rest were being taught how to either shoot or throw a grenade.

I am not going out into battle not knowing what to do and I will not let my stupidity be the downfall of the others.
