Trust

Eren's POV

I slowly open my eyes and I'm facing the ceiling. My mind is numb and all I could think about is Annie's betrayal, cheating on me. My eyes begin to tear up and I start to quietly sob, cover my eyes hiding my tears so.

I sit up on my bed and I see Kit sleeping to my left.

"Kit." I call out

He wakes up and yawns as he sits up straight.

"Hey, are you feeling good?" asks Kit

"Water."

He grabs a metal cup and fills it up with water and hand it to me. I gulp it all down then I started to feel a lot better.

"How's the pain?" asks Kit

"I don't feel any pain." I reply with no emotion in my voice

"Hey, I'm sorry for what happened man." he says

"It's fine, I don't care about her anymore" I reply

"You know, Mikasa went crazy when she learned about it." says Kit

"Not surprising." I remove the blankets and I get out of my bad.

"Whoa, what are you doing? You need to rest for at least a week." says Kit

"There's no cut anymore." I reply without looking at him.

He looks down at my stomach and removes my bandaids, his eyes widen at the sight.

"Wait, I'm confused." says Kit

I just leave him and I put on my gear and I head out of the infirmary building. Everyone's doing something, I see my team cleaning up the bodies and debris on the streets. I head over to my team and Armin notices me.

"Eren!"

Everyone turns to look at me and they all run up to me.

"Why are you here you should be in the infirmary resting." says Historia

"I'm fine, don't worry about me."

I lay my eyes on Bertholdt and my anger begins to grow every second that passes. I couldn't hold it anymore, I just want him dead, so I tackled him to the floor and I start pounding him with my fists. I threw my punches so hard it looked like his face was going inwards.

Reiner grabs me and holds me back with Marlowe, I tried to wiggle out but they held on tight.

"Eren calm down!" yells Reiner

"Don't tell me to fucking calm down!" I yell back

Ymir helps out Bertholdt as his face starts steaming and regenerating.

"Eren!" yells voice behind me

I turn to see Mikasa run towards me and she hugs me which calms me down a bit.

"Are you okay? How's the cut?" she asks, all worried.

I look around for that cheating bitch Annie but she was nowhere in sight.

Kit's POV

"How are you feeling?" I ask

Annie's sitting down at the table in Eren's room, well was his room but she was just playing with her fingers.

"Terrible." she replies

I grab some metals cups and fill them up with water.

"Terrible about cheating?"

She nods in response as I sit down and hand her the cup.

"Tell me your relationship with Bertholdt."

"Well, he liked me back during the warrior program in Marley so I had a slight affair with him during training camp in Eldia. But things got rough so I ended the relationship, I only wanted to be friends."

"Then what about Eren, do you not love him?" I ask

"He's one of the reasons why I wanted to end my affair with Bertholdt. But just two days ago, he asked me a sudden question and I just didn't know how to respond." continues Annie, "So I wanted to ask Reiner and Bertholdt that since they knew me the best. But Bertholdt pulled me to the side back at the airbase. He said that he understands what I'm going through and he would always be there for me so he kisses me and I didn't know what to do since it was all sudden. I should have stopped him or pushed him away but I just didn't."

"This doesn't sound like the typical you." I say, "You changed a lot."

"I noticed that, that's why Bertholdt took advantage of that." says Annie

"Listen to me Annie." I say, "Eren, isn't in a good mood right now, so I had permission from the Captain to switch teams for you."

"Wait I don't think I can get along with other Sentinels."

"No you'll be in Ghost team." I say, "And you'll be undercover."

"Huh? Is that going to work?" asks Annie

"He's not going to notice you, but from time to time I'm going to keep talking to Eren and try to switch up his mind or something." I reply

"But how am I going to disguise myself?" she asks

I grab my bag from the side and I pull out a brand new outfit for her.

"A black wind breaker hoodie with a face mask, you can put your bun through a hole in the back of the face mask. Also, you can wear any kind of shirt or longs sleeve inside the hoodie."

"But my eye color can be eye catching to everyone." says Annie

"That's why we got you these." I pull out eye lenses that are brown colored.

"What are these?" asks Annie

"Contact lenses for the eyes, it'll change colors. Go change right now and we'll meet up with Captain so he can introduce you."

Annie grabs her new outfit and heads to the changing room in the back. After 3 minutes passes she comes out like a totally different person.

"Uhhh am I wearing it correctly?" she asks

"Yea, you look just like Recon." I say

She looks at me confused from what I just said.

"Recon wore like this?"

"Yea, before she betrayed us." I reply

We head out the infirmary building towards the Captain.

"Remember you are a completely different person, throw away the Annie Leonhart in you for now." I say

We approach Captain and he nods at us in acknowledgement.

"You look like Recon." says Marksman

"Sorry sir." she replies

We all assemble towards the trucks where the entire Scout team was.

"Scouts, attention for a moment." says Ghost

They all stop what they were doing and they give their attention to Captain.

"I've heard what has happened between certain people and I came to a decision where Annie Leonhart will no longer be with us, she is being sent home back to Marley right now." says Captain

Everyone starts to mumble with each other, I look at Eren and he seems pretty mad at the fact, Bertholdt just looks sad.

"But, as a replacement we have a new member not for your team though. Her code name is Charlie, please give her the respect she needs."

"Yes sir." replies everyone

"Stay with me." I whisper to Annie

Annie and I stay behind to help them out with the cleaning up with the bodies.

"I can't believe Annie's going home." sighs Marco

"What are you talking about she deserves it, she cheated on Eren." says Mikasa

"But that was Eren's call not the Captain's." replies Marco

"Hey, enough." I yell, "Eren attacked Annie so we thought it'll be better for Eren to have some space in between them."

"Yea, it would have been better that way, I wouldn't want to see her either." says Eren

"Hey Charlie where are you from?" asks Armin

Annie doesn't respond because she doesn't know what to say so I talk for her.

"She's from Toronto, Canada."

"Why isn't she answering?" asks Ymir

"She doesn't like talking to new people." I reply

I make my way towards Eren picking up the debris on the way.

"Hey are you okay?" I ask

"Honestly no. Even though she's basically out of my life I can't stop thinking about her." he replies

"Do you want to give her another chance if you could?" I ask

"I don't know. I would need to trust her again." replies Eren

I nod and I proceed to walk back to Annie.

"Eren needs trust." I whisper and she nods

"Hey Kit get over here." yells Javelin

'Oh god not again.'

"Uhh maybe another time if it isn't urgent." I reply

She raises an eyebrow at me so I immediately drop what I was doing and leave.

"We're going on a recon mission." says Javelin

"Wait Captain's orders?" I ask

"Yea, he said he trusts us. We're the only ones that are capable of a recon mission." says Javelin

"Okay." I reply

"I'll brief you on the helicopter." says Javelin

We jog towards a prepped helicopter and take off.

Annie's POV

I'm sitting on a bench on the dark streets with barely any light working. Everyone was either sleeping or patrolling the area.

I hear footsteps behind me and I see that it's Eren. I nearly forget that I was a different person, until Eren said

"Sorry for bothering you Charlie. Can I sit here?"

I just nod and I sits at the other end of the bench. I desperately wanted to cry or like hug him and beg for another chance but I just couldn't.

"Hey uhh, can I ask you a personal question?" asks Eren

That catches me off guard but as a different person I just nod in response.

"How do you feel about cheating in a relationship?" he asks

I think for a second before responding to his question, but I had to slightly change my voice while I talk.

"It's stupid."

And that's what I really thought of cheating, I should have pushed Bertholdt away or stopped him but instead my dumbass decided to continue with him.

"Well uhhh would you forgive your boyfriend if he cheated on you?" asks Eren

"If I wanted to, I would have to regain their trust." I reply

"Trust I see."

"Also, it depends on why they cheated." I add

"Ahh that's also true." replies Eren, "I don't know why she cheated on me, I need to know why."

"Your girlfriend cheated on you?" I ask

Eren simply nods.

"I see."

"I'm sorry if I'm bothering you." says Eren

"Don't worry about it, you're not bothering me."

We sit there in complete silence for the next 20 minutes, so I turn to see Eren sleeping. I get up and grab a blanket from one of the tents nearby and I cover him with it.

I leave him and I just walk around the city in the cool night until I bump into someone.

"What are you doing up so late at night?" asks Marksman

"Sorry sir I couldn't get any sleep." I reply

"I see, well, I hope you understand what you did was wrong." I says

"I know sir, I should have stopped him before he kissed me." I reply

He approaches me and pats my shoulder.

"Gain his trust, and when you feel ready to reveal your true identity, then you do it." I says

I nod and he leaves me alone standing alone under a lamp post.

Kit's POV

"Hey take a look at that." I say

I hand the binoculars to Javelin and she looks into it for a couple of minutes.

"Looks like they're pretty busy with some shit." says Javelin

I look through my sniper's scope, scanning the area for anything that can be reported back to Captain Ghost.

"That man looks important." mumbles Javelin

"Who?" I ask

"The guy wearing a brown trench coat, with blonde hair, beard and glasses near the guards with hazmat suits on." replies Javelin

I zoom in onto my sniper scope and I see the guy Javelin was talking about.

"He looks really familiar." I mumble

"But why isn't he wearing a damn hazmat suit?" asks Javelin

"We're here to find out."

I continued watching, laying down on the rock hanging on the edge of a cliff.

"Hey, they're bringing in prisoners." says Javelin

"Soldiers?" I ask

"Looks like both civilians and personnels." replies Javelin

I continue watching as they shoved the prisoners into a bunker. That's when two hazmat soldiers began to plug tubes into holes on the side of the bunker.

The tube was connected to gas canisters and the hazmat soldiers began to release the gas into the tube, into the bunker.

"Bio chemical weapon?" I ask

"No, something bigger." replies Javelin

The soldiers then opened the door of the bunker, gas coming out once the door opened. They went inside and they started dragging out the bodies of the prisoners.

"Fucking hell, it was a success." I groan

"No, there's seems to be more to it." says Javelin

Once the soldiers were done dragging their bodies out they moved back pretty far, as if something was going to happen. That's when the guys with the trench coat comes forward, he takes a deep breath and screamed, even I could hear it from here. That's when there was a huge blast and a bright light where the bodies are.

The flash kind of blinded me and Javelin so I had to look away for a second.

"What the fuck." groans Javelin, massaging her eyes.

I look back into the scope and I nearly shit myself. Standing where the bodies once were, are titans.

"They used the chemical weapons to turn them into titans?" I ask in shock

"Shoot the guy in the trench coat." says Javelin

"We were ordered to not engage." I reply

"That guy is important we need to take him down." she says

"Goddamit we have our orders." I reply

Javelin sighs and just goes back to looking through her binoculars.

"That guy does look familiar, I'm going to take a picture with my binoculars." says Javelin

After a few pictures, we grab our stuff and left our position.

"Let's move, we have five minutes to get to the rendezvous point." says Javelin

"Wait."

I stop jogging as I turn around to look back the way we came from. Something felt like I was being watched, like I was being followed. But it was too dark to see anything further than 40 feet.

"What's wrong?" asks Javelin

"I felt like someone was watching me, following me." I whisper

"Then let's pick up the pace." says Javelin

We begin to run our way towards the rendezvous point, a helicopter was already there waiting for us.

We quickly boarded onto the helicopter and we took off.

"This is Raptor 77 reporting, we are heading back to Yakutsk." says the pilot, "ETA 30 minutes."

I look down as we lifted off the ground, looking for the person who followed us. I put on my NVG and switch to thermal vision. At first I don't see any heat signatures until I see a human signature hiding behind a tree near our position.

"Someone's out there." I tell Javelin

"Nothing we could do." replies Javelin, "Like you said we got orders. Plus, we shoot him we make unnecessary noise, they figure out we're here. We take him out, the enemy will know if he doesn't show up."

I sit back on my seat and just watch his heat signature fade away as we head back to Yakutsk.
